Cycles of life/death: a time to Kill

Is there really a time to kill? A question that has bedevilled pacifists, philosophers, theologians and ALL sentient beings throughout the ages? I would state clearly and emphatically now that all sane humans find killing other human beings the most repugnant act possible! Killing is aberrant behaviour to the extreme and comes at huge cost for the killer, regardless of whether we/society sanction the killing -- soldiers/military, police etc -- or not!

However, we should not lose sight of the greater picture/movement of existence, which includes killing in order for life to persist, such is the unavoidable paradox of existence!

Humans all posses the inalienable (birth)right to live according to their own beliefs/’reality’ providing those beliefs do not impinge or adversely effect the beliefs and condition of others. We all therefore possess, as a VERY LAST option, the RIGHT to kill those who would impose their will/worldview onto us! Qualification for this action is found enshrined in LAW in all societies from traditional jungle dwellers to urban polluters – there is no escaping the necessity to kill in certain circumstances.

The Australian public broadcaster recently aired a small segment on a returned Special Forces soldier, a highly trained, expert, reflexive killer. Unlike the moronic, gung ho Americans, Australians are gritty, REALISTIC soldiers/killers – we do not use combat ‘enhancers,’ amphetamines etc, which inflict even greater psychological damage on the soldier -- we accept the responsibility for our actions whether we like it or not!

During the course of the monologue the soldier openly admitted that killing is foreign to humans and that a high price is exacted for the act, which he is now unfortunately paying -- he had recently returned from active duty in a war zone. The soldier was refreshingly candid and honest; however, he presented as a severely damaged young man – fortunately he has a supportive female partner to help him on his very long road to recovery, his first wife had failed him.

It should be noted that this soldier was sent as an invader to a foreign land to kill those who were defending their families, traditional lands, and INALIENABLE RIGHTS! Under those conditions the defenders suffer minimal psychological damage as a result of killing invading forces. Their war is morally justifiable, which is critically important when assessing the necessity and cost of killing with a view to REAL ‘VICTORY.’

It is extremely important from a psychological perspective, that a distinction is made between the just and unjust fighter, as the damage caused to the unjust combatant is severe – human instincts are beyond the reach of propaganda and we should be very careful in determining whether our sons and daughters should be sent to their physical or mental demise.

It is clear that killing is an unavoidable aspect of life but the criteria under which we engage in that act must be met otherwise we are the losers, as the U.S. clearly exemplifies today -- the nation is ruined on every level.

We now confront the preventative, justifiable action, one that saves countless innocent lives.

The illegal Vietnam conflict should have taught us that unjustifiable wars can never be won even under the most horrific mass murdering policies. The war criminal, Henry Kissinger, is responsible for the carpet bombing strategy that killed up to three million innocent civilians throughout Indo-China – it was known that this blind saturation bombing would murder countless innocents, but Kissinger and the Republican administration at the time persisted regardless. History records the miserable failure of those morally and politically incorrect policies – but have we learnt from the experience, obviously not?

The world now confronts characters more reprehensible than Kissinger, though they are not able to boast of murdering three million innocent souls, AS YET!

What then should we do with the likes of Cheney, Bush, Rumsfeld, Blair, Howard, Wolfowitz, Perle, Rove, Rice and all the others DIRECTLY responsible for the first holocaust of the 21st century? I am asking YOU, as I am also damaged goods; when is it justifiable to kill those already proven criminals who lied and have the blood of millions of innocent men, women and CHILDREN on their hands? These murderers and their ilk CONTINUE TO THREATEN THE ENTIRE WORLD WITH EVERMORE WAR!

I am a veteran please answer, what should WE do?

Postscript:
I call on all my brothers in arms to EXTERNALISE their grief. We know how easy it is to take any politician; we are proficient specialists they are useless liars. Should we continue to internalise and PAY for THEIR CRIMINAL ACTIONS or should we apply a justifiable cure for all humanity? Let the message go out, it is THEY who MUST PAY!

They have NO DEFENCES against us, none whatsoever!
