The International Criminal Court confirmed, after Palestine brought war crimes issues to notice, that it had no jurisdiction over Israel or America – how convenient! All doubts are removed as to how or why leading terrorist nations, Israel and America, are able to wantonly kill civilians and commit numerous atrocities with impunity! Perhaps Bin Laden ought to insist on a similar arrangement, it worked for Kosovar war criminals, so why not! We should ALL demand equal dispensation or exemption – the LAW is truly an ASS or should I say a convenient means of avoiding JUSTICE!
WE should have known that only VICTIMS and TARGETS of Israel and America fall under the jurisdiction of the ICC – for Christ’s fuckin sake! Who are you people trying to kid? Does anyone require more evidence that the USA and Israel are the two leading CRIMINAL nations in the world today?
We have a little question and message for Meyer and Jethro, have you ever seen an elephant hiding behind a straw? When the law fails the people, the people BECOME THE LAW! Those who fail to learn from history are CONDEMNED to repeat it.
Q: What did the Jews learn from the Nazi holocaust? A: It is better to dispense horror and terror than receive it!
We would remind Jethro and Meyer of the fate of Nazi Germany and its leaders – politicians are urged to think twice; how much more GROSS INJUSTICE, MURDER and DECEIT can people take before social ‘order’ collapses?
Report from Reuters follows:
ICC prosecutor says has no jurisdiction in Gaza© 2009 Thomson Reuters
THE HAGUE, Jan 14 (Reuters) - The International Criminal Court prosecutor in The Hague said on Wednesday it lacks jurisdiction to investigate possible war crimes recently committed in the Gaza Strip.
The prosecutor's statement came after a Palestinian rights group called on the ICC to investigate Israel for committing war crimes during its 19-day-old offensive in Gaza.
The office of the prosecutor said the court's jurisdiction is limited to war crimes, crimes against humanity and the crime of genocide committed on the territory of, or by a national of, a state party.
"In Gaza at present, the ICC lacks such jurisdiction," the prosecutor said in a statement.
The prosecutor said crimes committed in other situations can come before the ICC if the relevant non-party state voluntarily accepts the jurisdiction of the court on an ad hoc basis or if the United Nations Security Council refers a situation.
Set up in 2000, the Hague-based ICC is the world's first permanent court established to investigate and prosecute war crimes.
Israel and the United States are not among the 108 countries that have signed the Rome Statute creating the court, but that would not prevent the ICC from launching an investigation.
