5 Wars America Must End for Peace and Freedom to Prevail

I've arrived at the point that whenever I hear the word "war," I cringe. Even when that violent term is used in seemingly noble pursuits like the 'war' on poverty, or the 'war' on hunger. It's become apparent that all wars are destructive regardless of all good intentions. It has also become obvious that when the State declares war on a social problem, it is nothing more than an attempt to curtail our liberties and hard won freedoms.

War creates enemies that must be combated by government force. The less specific the definition of that enemy (war on 'terror') the broader the perceived enemy becomes and the larger the role of government in attempting to 'keep us safe' from those vaguely defined "enemies."

When government wages war against anything, a cycle begins that is almost impossible to stop. The government creates new agencies and outsources lucrative work to favored Corporations; then it becomes apparent that perpetuating war is more profitable than ending it, hence the endless, highly lucrative (for the agencies) war on drugs that could be terminated overnight by legalization. America is in love with endless wars that actually only serve the interests of agencies and Corporations.

When poverty rates climb, a group of government workers secretly 'high-five' each other over the added security of their jobs. When marijuana legalization measures fail, the police and prison unions celebrate. When America is attacked, the weapons manufacturers rejoice. When all Americans are considered terror suspects, surveillance industry stocks soar. And we pay for it all in blood, sweat and freedom.

This self-perpetuating destructive cycle must end if peace and freedom are valued. It begins with the realization that there is no real enemy, but rather inflated or imagined creations of the government/corporate power structures working in their own interests.

Those who support funding these social wars also rail against the corporate interests that control Washington, while never realizing they're one and the same. Washington and the Corporations form symbiotic relationships to their mutual benefit, while together they form a parasitic influence on society at large, sucking at its very life blood. When one grows fat, so does the other, while citizens grow skinny and weak.

Overseas Wars: The imperialistic wars in the oil-rich Arab world are clearly a failure of policy, morality, and resource allocation. Even if the lies that led us there, and the lies that keep us there were based in some fact, they would still be very flimsy excuses in view of the countless tragedies involved, not least of which is the loss of millions of innocent lives and the huge cost to American society.

The Orwellian nature of perpetual war is a technique that is used by global elites to ensure that even superpowers like the U.S. which are not experiencing direct confrontation, are under a continued (imaginary) threat of some sort. This permits new legislation like indefinite detention in the NDAA that declares the entire planet a battlefield even when there is actually no physical war! We have seen recently that after the travesty of Libya these psychopathic elites are actually pursuing more war with Syria and Iran, perhaps even leading to WWIII. We must oppose military action everywhere if we expect peace anywhere, planet earth is NOT a battlefield, it is our mother.

War on Terror: The War on Terror is nothing more than a War on Freedom and Liberty. Americans have been stripped of all their precious rights due to the absurd declaration of war on the noun, 'terror!' The PATRIOT Act and the recently-passed 'indefinite detention' provision in NDAA are good examples.

War against a word/tactic is a testament to how powerful the war propaganda machine is. One can never defeat a LIE with violence; only peace, tolerance and the TRUTH are able to do that. But, again, the war on terror is not about defeating anything; it's about controlling a once free society. It must end if liberty is to be restored.

War on Drugs: The war on drugs benefits numerous organizations and special interests but accomplishes nothing; it only damages society. Governments have no right or authority to govern our minds and bodies, though they make every effort to do just that.

The war on drugs is an affront to everyone's natural rights, especially noticeable now as that war expands to include food and natural health products.

Where there is demand, there will always be supply no matter how many laws oppose certain substances. Drug usage is simply impossible to stop by force. The lucrative war on drugs causes the violence in the drug trade, if these drugs were legalized it would eliminate illicit drug use and de-glamorize various drugs. Maintaining various agencies to combat drug availability and use is a massive drain on the taxpayer. Caging humans for victimless crimes is no longer acceptable in enlightened societies. It's no longer logical, rational or moral to continue to wage this war. It is clear that it's been far more harmful to society than beneficial.

Cyber War: The cyber war is really an information war, which we all engage in. There is no real threat in the cyber world except from those that benefit from the consolidation of power. Why is the Department of Homeland Security responsible for protecting corporate infrastructure? Corporations should be responsible for their own digital security requirements not taxpayers. The propaganda which states that attacks on corporate infrastructure could radiate outward to critical public infrastructure has been proven false; it is nothing more than a ruse to justify censorship and taking control of the Internet.

The same is true for IP rights, content protection and copyright violations. It is overkill to suggest that we need more government power to arbitrarily shut down websites. No cyber attack, no matter how potentially devastating, is worth giving the government the authority to censor or shut down websites. Nor should anyone be arrested and caged for victimless file sharing, let alone linking to information.

Again, it's another false war that will result in lost freedom and privacy for average citizens. Incidentally, the Internet's economic playing field and its quasi-anonymity provide the last free domain on earth for average people to compete. Hence, the only enemy in the peaceful information war are those who push for censorship, draconian copyright laws to eliminate competition. Those who wage information war are the real enemy, ideas and info exchange are the lifeblood of humanity. Everyone should oppose the war on internet freedom if we wish to preserve our right of free speech and the right to access all information.

Class War: A class war has been unofficially waged for over a century. It is a war that has taken away an individual's ability to provide a comfortable living for himself through price inflation of goods and services combined with stagnating wages, harsh regulations to starting businesses; and then penalizing production with heavy taxes! Price inflation is caused by our debt-based monetary system which is run by privately owned banks that have formed a cartel to protect each others' interests. We must 'End the Fed' for peace and justice to prevail in the class war. Ask yourself why expensive regulations cripple small businesses, but large corporations violate those very same regulations and get bailed out? The only regulation should be a do-no-harm law with harsh penalties if corporations leave a trail of victims.

Have any of these well-funded regulators ever "protected" the public? It's time to de-fund them and let the free market regulate quality and production. Finally, inflicting heavier taxes on the people is the last thing to do to end class warfare. Again, government power must be reduced in order to achieve peace and freedom, not bolstered with more mafia protection money. Banks must be nationalized and made to serve the nation and the people not greedy bankers that de-fraud the nation and then expect to get bailed out by the people when they find themselves in trouble. Money production must also be controlled by the government/people not private concerns intent on debt-enslaving the masses; we can easily afford social reform if we end all the wars.

It has become abundantly clear that all the social and military wars are failures, they have only achieved destruction, misery and endless hardship. In fact, society is worse off having waged these unnecessary wars. The only way to overturn great injustices by cartel corporations and government intrusions on our liberties is to return government to the people via representative democracy not the corporate funded ownership of government that exists today.

In conclusion, the most effective way to begin positive social reform is to demand an end to all wars.
