Exceeding Worth

Alienation, vacuity of purpose or simply 'the lost lives of the people!' Are YOU working more and enjoying it less? What does it matter if you wallpaper your house with money if you have lost your family, friends and community in the process. In a world where we are constantly fed lies relating to our ‘envious’ standard of living and the wonderful advances we’ve made, I notice entire developed nations now suffering from what I call, ‘native envy.’ The Aboriginal standing on a rocky outcrop overlooking a limitless landscape. A land that provides all his needs with minimal work -- a few hours per day. The other twenty hours are dedicated to ritual ‘dreaming’ art and dance. But we are better off aren’t we? We have Nintendo and Plasma TV!

Each successive generation is working longer stress-filled hours than previous generations. Today we have reached the absurd situation where the family unit has been compromised in order to maintain that family unit! The time involved in obtaining the necessities and living the life-style we have been led to believe is normal has stolen us away from our loved ones and community.

PROFITS for Corporations have somehow become the imperative of our existence, it happened while we were sleeping! One company in Australia recently made an 18 billion-dollar profit for the year – not bad considering the population is only 21 million but the people barely see a cent of it! Somehow the Corporate beast consumes its own profit for the sake of evermore profit, which is fine but it is consuming us and the entire planet in the process!

Our spouses seek solace from strangers and our deprived kids are compensated with digital ‘friends’ on digital networks while we are worked to a frazzle.

I am now haunted by the vision of the native standing with one foot resting on his opposite knee, supporting himself with his spear.

I must leave you now, the nation is facing a ‘democratic’ election between two candidates that no honourable man or woman would piss on. But of course two loathsome candidates ensures the status quo of a corporate system that has stolen or is in the process of destroying everything worth living for!

I have the very real feeling that I have been ROBBED!
