The Law of Inverse Proportions

The title refers to a sociological law, the crowd or mob mind; the larger the mob the lower the intelligence ratio until we get to national levels where the intelligence of a nation measured by its population is in the minuses. How demonstrably true especially in developed nations where literacy levels should indicate otherwise. In America, arguably the most developed western nation, the national IQ is clearly in the 100 unit minuses.
Take the example of global warming and the ‘Farce of the Century,’ Kyoto! As stated some years ago, ‘tipping point’ or the point where runaway effects become irreversible, HAS ALREADY BEEN REACHED AND EXCEEDED!
Are we pursuing survival strategies and preparing for the inevitable collapse of society as we know it? NO! Not on YOUR LIFE, the fuckin' politicians are still arguing over the implementation and regulation of a redundant strategy, the Kyoto emission control protocol! Far too late for that.
The current US Administration is in TOTAL DENIAL on every important issue of our time. However, the current quarter-brain president, G W Bush, can be credited with making at least one accurate and realistic statement in his career and that is, “America is ADDICTED to oil.” [My emphasis]
Please note that an addiction is a complete life style, every waking moment is shaped by that addiction. If you are one of the fortunate few who has broken an addiction you will immediately appreciate that there are no ‘grey areas’ or topics to discuss – one is either addicted or not.
Breaking addictions is simple, it STOPS! I am using the comparison/analogy of the addict as it fits perfectly.
While addicts constantly ruminate over their addiction, they remain addicted for want of simply STOPPING the habit! There are no grey areas, none whatsoever. Endless strategies and talk constitute nothing but justification, excuses and distractions, as any counsellor, clinician or therapist will tell you. The only effective way to break a habit that threatens to kill you is to STOP immediately.
Now cast an eye on our politicians behaving like recidivist drug addicts. Like all addicts they are too frightened to tackle the problem head-on, as the trauma would upset the status quo – very true, but the status quo is a highway to hell!
Useless talk and avoiding the responsibility of decisive action is like watching a room full of junkies informing their therapists/counsellors how they are ‘going’ (future tense) to kick the habit.
I need not go into detail, the cost of inaction is global catastrophe!
Where are the people on this and other crucial issues – nowhere!
Predicting the future of the world is as simple as adding 2 +2.
We live in a time of ‘prophets,’ fools and moronic masses. However, all will share a similar fate, a fate richly deserved by all.
[Sufficient unto the day is the folly thereof.]
