The time it takes a falling nation to disintegrate

The amount of money America splashes around in aid, grants, loans, bribes and expenditure is astronomical. All things being unequal, America is spending what it does not have; the result of course is a dollar that plummets when other nations decide they cannot afford to maintain their dollar reserves. The drunken sailor economics of Bush and his fellow incompetents has already killed the American economy; the nation just hasn’t hit the ground yet!
The delusion that all is right with America relates to the same aberrant mental condition that allows Japanese whalers to slaughter whales under the pretext of scientific research. The whole world is aware the Japanese are LYING, however, the Japanese continue to mock the world community by persisting in their nefarious deception – memories of Nanking!
The Balkans provides another example. In clear contravention of international law and convention the US and NATO have encouraged separatists in Kosovo to illegally declare independence.
However, the vilest crime of all is reserved for the vilest nation, the USA. The rape and ruin of Iraq is a crime in progress that has already claimed the lives of one million innocent civilians. The destruction wrought by the USA in Iraq far exceeds anything the previous dictator, Saddam Hussein, inflicted on this unfortunate nation. The USA persists with its illegal war in the Middle East and continues to disregard international Law in the Balkans.
The world is not deceived by Japan's tactic of 'abandoning' the humpback kill in order to ease pressure on its pre-determined quota for other whale species! Both the USA and Japan hope that brazen affront will numb response and weaken opposition. The more blatant the deception/tactic the less inclined are people to resist! A ploy that proved successful in Nazi Germany and is proving successful in mainland USA!
I recall history lectures from my student days; few students could understand how a civilised European nation could have allowed a bunch of murdering Nazi gangsters to lead an affluent and developed nation to destruction. The German people are still paying the price for the failure of their fathers today. Are we able to draw comparisons with today’s populations? It seems so; in clear view of flagrant illegalities and the most horrendous crimes, rogue nations and criminal leaders today lead their respective nations to ruin exactly as did Nazi leaders before them. However, today we have the benefit of hindsight.
Two nations have articulated their open opposition to the overt criminal activities of other nations. Australia’s new Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, has made unambiguous comments relating to the farce of Japanese ‘scientific’ whaling and has undertaken to monitor the activities of the fleet in Southern Oceans. The Japanese whaling fleet also serves to camouflage the activities of illegal tuna fishing in Southern waters; a practice the Japanese have been careful to hide.
Rudd’s firm and rational approach is a refreshing change to the servile attitude of the previous Howard government. The legal and moral course is easily defended and makes a mockery of the thin excuses and evasions of criminal nations. Australians are also heartened by the decision of the courts to re-instate the rights of an Indian medical doctor who was victimised and scapegoated by the previous government for political purposes. An inquiry into that matter is underway. Collusion between the former PM, his minister for Immigration and the current Chief of the Federal police is obvious, however, due process must be followed – unlike America, Australia adheres to the law and moral principles.
In an interesting twist Russia is now the torchbearer for international law and convention in Europe. Russia is set to oppose moves by NATO and the USA to illegally redraw the map of Eastern Europe. The Russians are insisting that international law be observed in relation to Kosovo and have established themselves strategically in the region should trouble break out. America now faces becoming the overt criminal aggressor in Europe as well as in Asia and the Middle East.
Perhaps the stand taken by Australia and Russia may serve to inspire other nations and prevent criminal nations plunging the world deeper into anarchy and chaos. We have seen the results of inaction and complacency before – we can ill-afford to repeat the lessons of history in today’s world!
