Thoroughly incompetent Oz politicians warring over defence contracts

There is an old saying familiar to most cultures, “shit floats,” and it’s a whopping great turd that has hit the surface in relation to Australia’s defence spending.

The current minister of defence, Joel Fitzgibbon, has rightly opened the ‘book’ on the incompetence of the previous conservative government’s politically driven, as opposed to practical, defence purchases.

It seems the previous Howard government was conned by the Americans, who postured as friends and allies, whereas the facts dictate they only considered themselves and their own interests – and why shouldn’t they?

The previous incompetent defence minister, Brendan ‘studs’ Nelson was overwhelmed during his visit to Washington. The naïve, narcissistic, doctor Nelson actually believed he did well with an ill-considered purchase; his press conferences at the time reveal his self-satisfaction – the fuckin’ gullible moron! [Nelson is the current leader of the opposition, a most fortunate circumstance for the government!]

Nelson paid far too high a price for a sub-standard jet fighter, which, if deployed, would surrender air supremacy to the Indonesians – our ‘feared’ northern neighbour! The Indonesians purchased a far superior Russian built jet fighter at considerably less expense. The region now faces a new balance of military power! Singapore couldn’t be happier – be assured Mr Lee, some people down here have a firm grip on the situation.

To accuse the previous government of incompetence is similar to citing the sky as blue – does anyone doubt it? From the earliest days of its sycophancy to the Americans and its brazen “aluminium tubing” lies -- designed to dupe a reluctant nation into an illegal war -- to its irresponsible, drunken sailor spending and its failure to benefit from the resources boom, the previous conservative government couldn’t have been more delinquent, irresponsible and incompetent! [If the current government had any integrity it would have arrested the former PM for war crimes and crimes against humanity – the sky IS blue after all!]

The current national deficit is a thorough DISGRACE in view of the largest boom in the nation’s history -- all the bullshit under the economic sun cannot alter the (deficit) fact!

But to return to the dilemma of the CURRENT INCOMPETENT GOVERNMENT. What price does America pay for its critical bases in Oz and would the future tenure of those bases make the yanks a little more agreeable to lifting certain penalty clauses? All bases on Australian soil come under review when the situation warrants it! Are you listening, Uncle, or have the Serbs got you worried and distracted?

It is clear that politics is SELF-INTEREST as the Americans have clearly demonstrated to Australia and the World. The solution to the current minister’s ‘dilemma’ regarding defence contracts is fucking simple – you gutless winging little men! [When will this nation learn to stand on its own feet and capitalise on a situation?]

What price should the Americans pay for making Australia a high priority nuclear target? Think on that for a minute or two!

We do not need bureaucrats as leaders; we need astute and fearless, REAL politicians!
