Racist Prime Minister, John Howard, refuses to Apologise

Internationally known coward and racist, John Howard, today declared he would not apologise for the trauma, injustices and abuse Dr Haneef suffered at the hands of the executive government, state regulatory authorities, legal system and the media -- for assisting in his [Haneef’s] character assassination. Note Howard’s exact phrasing, "Australia will not be apologising to Dr Haneef,” [my emphasis.] Howard hides behind his office to imply the Australian nation refuses to apologise when it is clear that Howard only represents a backward-looking retrogressive conservative/racist element of Australian society.

The majority of Australians will no doubt make their sentiments on the Haneef, Hicks, Tampa, children overboard affairs, known at the forthcoming elections. The majority of Australians today have European and Asian backgrounds; Howard belongs to another era of Anglo dominated, racist, xenophobic Australians -- social fossils that survive only in distant colonial outposts of the long dead British Empire.

Australia is located in the Asia Pacific region and it is the height of folly to insult our neighbours and treat them as something other than fully human or deserving of the same treatment that we would expect from others. Haneef is no more or less a human than the rest of us – a fact obviously lost on Howard and his recalcitrant government. Only today the Immigration Minister, Kevin Andrews, stated that he would not apologise for making the outrageous AND PROVEN INCORRECT statement that Haneef sought to leave Australia on the “pretext” of visiting his newborn child and wife in Bangalore. To compound the error and his disgraceful, racist behaviour, Andrews also stated that Haneef’s return to India makes him look “guilty!” The world takes note!

The antiquated, Australian racist, conservative, internationally inept government is unravelling as I write and its timing couldn’t be more perfect. The whole population is now alerted to the fact that Howard and his antiquated conservatives not only damage Australia but also put at risk all Aussies travelling the world or holding Australian passports. Are Aussies such fools they would expect the world to tolerate being treated as second rate or somehow inferior and not deserving of AN APOLOGY when gross injustices have occurred.

It is John Howard and his government who support antiquated racist policies and refuse to apologise for their reprehensible behaviour. But as the world know, it takes a real man of character to admit fault and apologise – we can therefore expect more refusals and evasive tactics from the Howard rodent government.

I take this opportunity to state to the world that the vast majority of Australians DO NOT share Howard’s racist, retrogressive ideology; we would not hesitate to apologise to Dr Haneef for the maltreatment he received. However, Howard shames ALL Australians by his actions; fortunate indeed is the timing of the next federal election!
