Deconstructing the Prime Minister of Oz - National Social/Political

A recent news bulletin will serve as our sample text. We will not confine ourselves to the primary discourse; the silent secondary discourse always delivers a more accurate picture.

The headline of the short report reads, “PM blames violent protesters for tough APEC security;” note from the very outset that Howard “BLAMES,” how unusual! Howard pursues his extremely familiar BLAME-game strategy to justify his actions; fault ALWAYS resides with the other.

Howard has never accepted responsibility for any of his compromising actions, Tampa, children overboard, racism, wrongful deportation of citizens and not forgetting his most heinous crime the “aluminium tubing” lie that led to Australia’s involvement in the Iraq holocaust. Howard would be sure to tell us that fault for HIS illegal invasion and the subsequent one million dead innocent civilians lies elsewhere.

“Mr Howard denies the severe measures might actually incite violence.” ‘Denial’ is certainly not foreign to our Johnny – one million denials, Mr Howard! He continues, “that is a common excuse by those who seek to take the law into their own hands.” Howard wouldn‘t know anything about taking the Law into his own hands, that small matter of an illegal invasion and the deceptions that led the nation into a shameful killing field. Compare passionate Melbourne protesters with the death count in Iraq then attempt to grapple with Howard’s interpretation of “violence!” Howard views vociferous student protesters and some minor property damage as SOMEHOW more heinous a ‘crime’ than the horrendous violence in Iraq. INVERSION is the first indicator of sinister intentions!

Unfortunately for Howard the majority of people are still able to add 2+2 and arrive at 4! It is clear the protesters whose efforts are directed at saving our planet and a tenable society hold the moral high ground. To oppose malevolent forces that continue to wantonly destroy human life, the environment and everything else they touch is a commendable undertaking and more power to the protesters!

Colonialist cringer, Howard and the Italian fascist Premier, Morris Iemma, intend to inflict violence on protesters in order to minimise any inconvenience that mass murderers, polluters and thieves are likely to experience during their stay in Sydney. After all, someone has to protect the new society where the divide between rich and poor grows wider by the minute. Australia boasts disparities in wages from 35 million/year to 40K/year, unheard of prior to Howard and his vile Industrial Relations reforms. Corporate directors should be made to justify these outrageous disparities.

We all have a duty to protect each other and our planet against those who seek to destroy it.

The forces of destruction and greed have always met with opposition from the people. Our survival depends on our efforts; when state institutions engage in violent actions against popular movements and the sentiment of the masses know that that society is SICK and is led by VERMIN!
