Putin: the MOUSE that roars posted by reg, 2011-08-16 22:23:13 Here he goes again with his FEEBLE, verbal PROTESTATIONS, telling the world what it already knows. You refer (video below) to all the criminal US/NATO interventions from the Balkans through to Libya -- they are ALL characterised by Russian inaction, cowardice and PARALYSIS! Superpowers Russia and China at Crossroads posted by bluey, 2011-08-16 00:05:52 The leaderships of China and Russia are far more pragmatic and realistic than the self-evident pathological buffoons that run the failing USA. However, it is time the leaderships of both nations made clear to the INTERNATIONAL C-O-M-M-U-N-I-T-Y exactly where they stand in relation to the OVERT/BRAZEN CRIMINAL ACTIVITY of the USA and NATO. It is simply unacceptable for Russia and China to condone the Libyan and other ‘interventions’ in their respective roles as members of the UN Security Council and then make feeble verbal protests when mandates and resolutions are violated and brazen crimes committed by other members. Running for the US Presidency posted by doc, 2011-08-12 00:16:15 Over recent years it has become painfully obvious to the international community that the two primary qualities of successful candidates to the office of President of the USA are, wait for it, borderline illiteracy and insincerity -- smooth-talking LIARS and/or nutters have occupied the White House for far too long. A brief review of recent presidents since and including Reagan verifies the FACT! (full story and 1 comments) social/political / international
Viable alternatives or the dance of the lemmings posted by trayn, 2011-08-11 01:18:04 Currency traders and speculators have just taken 10 cents off the Oz dollar in a huge profit taking sell. Nothing was produced in that purely financial exercise. The profit was made by first inflating value and luring dumber investors, then dumber again until a untenable level was reached; the big players then sold or dumped their Oz dollars and ‘cleaned up’ leaving slower investors to take the smaller share or lose altogether. Now consider the fact that 10 cents was the margin and when you have billions of dollars to play with, 10 cents translates into billions in profits. But I would stress that nothing was PRODUCED in the corporeal world; the entire exercise was digital or abstract. (full story) social/political / international
Looting and mindless destruction suits existing ruling Elites posted by zed, 2011-08-10 12:15:02 Before we proceed I would remind everyone that real anarchy is a non-hierarchical system of self-government sustained by MUTUAL COOPERATION -- which implies [for] the GOOD OF ALL! The only social exception to that rule would be self-centred, self-serving vermin that exploit their fellow human beings. Today that category of human filth is represented by Banksters, Corporatists and the puppet politicians that serve them. NATO and the US war machine commit the most heinous war and other CRIMES against humanity on a daily basis in order to satisfy the insatiable appetite minority elites have for accruing ‘wealth’ or turning a profit. Let us today make a CLEAR distinction between mutually assisting groups and the EXPLOITATIVE, unrepresentative, minority CRIMINAL elites that currently rule our respective societies. Mob Rule: what did you Expect? posted by nano, 2011-08-08 22:13:39 People learn from each other and their respective cultures but above all they learn from their LEADERS. The recent ORGANISED UK civil riots are just the beginning of a widespread disillusionment and RETALIATION by the socially abused and EXPLOITED. HOW TO Subjugate American Youth posted by Bruce E. Levine via reed, 2011-08-04 01:18:23 Elites learned their tricks in the 50's and 60's, decades known for anti-establishment activity and rebellion. Never again would minority ruling elites allow their media to foment protests and tell the TRUTH/story as it is! Two primary methods of social control were implemented after the massive protest movements of the 60's -- DEBT SLAVERY and media 'PERCEPTION MANAGEMENT' or propaganda to use the traditional term. The Reality behind Debt Ceiling Theatrics posted by sam, 2011-08-01 11:25:51 America prints and controls the flow of the world’s reserve currency, the greenback. Until such time as another world currency, or weighted ‘unit’ from 5 leading nations, replaces the greenback as reserve, America is able to play economic God or vandal with the rest of the WORLD. How foolish the international community is for allowing any single nation to control the global economy in this way. (full story and 3 comments) social/political / international
Democracy Betrayed posted by zed, 2011-07-26 11:23:52 If we, the democratic majority, condone or allow elected representatives to renege or back-peddle on promises then we must accept the responsibility for the failure of democracy. Democracy demands that the will of the majority is uncompromisingly served, no ‘ifs or buts!’ Everyone is able to comprehend the simple principles embodied in the Democratic ideal. A Solution posted by dasha, 2011-07-24 01:50:42 How did we get into the mess we’re in today?
If we extricate ourselves from the distracting, lying, misrepresentations of the mass media propaganda apparatus for a moment the cause and SOLUTION stares us in the face. (full story) social/political / international
Economy Destroyed: The Enemy is [Wall St.] Washington posted by Paul Craig Roberts via reed, 2011-07-22 02:17:36 Recently, the bond rating agencies that gave junk derivatives triple-A ratings threatened to downgrade US Treasury bonds if the White House and Congress did not reach a deficit reduction deal and debt ceiling increase. The downgrade threat is not credible, and neither is the default threat. Both are make-believe crises that are being hyped in order to force cutbacks in Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. Global Financial Alert! posted by stan, 2011-07-21 02:06:15 With an OVERT policy of confiscation (theft) -- Libya’s sovereign wealth fund and other LARGE funds; economic blackmail in the form of choking financial flows (WikiLeaks) -- many nations and LARGE investors are REVIEWING their policy of placing funds or INVESTING with US/Western Financial and Banking Institutions. You could hardly blame them. (full story) social/political / international
Long suspected now confirmed, Recent ‘Social Revolutions’ Orchestrated and Financed from Washington posted by nano, 2011-07-19 00:07:06 For those who required proof or the means of discovering the Truth behind recent global Revolutions, the following video (linked) offers much material to verify what was suspected all along. The globalist agenda (PNAC) as pursued by minority elites (plutocrats) are behind what appear to be peoples’ movements! (full story) social/political / international
Oz PM Gillard Delusions of Grandeur posted by gan, 2011-07-17 11:14:11 What on earth does Gillard think she's doing planning to IMPOSE and unwanted, un-mandated Carbon TAX on Australia? After failing to convince the public with simplistic slogans, rhetoric and an astounding lack of real detail on how carbon emissions will be accurately measured etc., Gillard is now dipping into the public purse to pay for a $25 million Ad campaign in a last ditch effort to sell the unsellable! This latest attempt at a sell will no doubt earn her nothing but scorn and contempt, as many people view this extravagant decision as symptomatic of lunacy! The reality is PLAIN TO SEE -- AUSTRALIA DOESN'T WANT THIS TAX, Juliar! (full story) social/political / international
The Emperor has no Economy posted by Ted Rall via fleet, 2011-07-16 03:15:46 The Associated Press' Paul Wiseman had one of the snappier headlines last week: "The Economic Recovery Turns Two - Feel Better?"
"After previous recessions, people in all income groups tended to benefit," Wiseman wrote. "This time, ordinary Americans are struggling with job insecurity, too much debt, and pay raises that haven't kept up with prices at the grocery store and gas station. The economy's meager gains are going mostly to the wealthiest…A big chunk of the economy's gains has gone to investors in the form of higher corporate profits."
Wiseman quoted David Rosenberg, chief economist at Gluskin Sheff and Associates in Toronto: "The spoils have really gone to capital, to the shareholders." (full story) social/political / international
