The Terror-Industrial Complex -- Criminal Nation, Terrorist State posted by Chris Hedges via fleet, 2010-02-08 16:52:49
The conviction of the Pakistani neuroscientist Aafia Siddiqui in New York last week of trying to kill American military officers and FBI agents illustrates that the greatest danger to our security does not come from al-Qaida but the thousands of shadowy mercenaries, kidnappers, killers and torturers our government employs around the globe. Preludes to Dynamic Social Change posted by lynx, 2010-02-07 19:55:34
Yawning chasms of DISPARITY and INEQUITY have preceded every social r/evolution in history; are we blind to the signs in the sky today? NO! However, the (let them eat cake) arrogant attitude of self-styled elites blinds them to the consequences of their criminal, corrupt actions. Take for example, Financiers, Bankers and Corporate CEOs; they insider trade, exploit, LIE and CHEAT, O-P-E-N-L-Y displaying the UTMOST CONTEMPT for the masses, LAW and GOVERNMENT, then rub the noses of the public and our once functional regulatory social institutions in their excrement! What would you suppose are the consequences of these appalling actions; history bulges with information? (full story)

Last Rites for the USA posted by Cindy Sheehan via reed, 2010-02-07 08:13:44
Many people mistakenly believe that corporations were given the same rights (not just privileges) as persons in this Supreme Court decision, but nothing could be farther from the truth - the reason my nation is such a dysfunctional system now is not because of a Supreme Court decision, nor a law passed by Congress, nor by a referendum of the people: it's because of a single statement, one sentence, spoken by a Supreme Court Chief Justice before the hearing even began. The American Presidency, what presidency? posted by Sheila Stuff via fray, 2010-02-07 06:03:26
It boggles the mind reading this very accurate account of the completely ineffective role of the U.S. President today. From George H Bush, Clinton to Obama the exact same status quo is in operation and the same private ruling interests are in control of the nation! However, the American people continue to argue the toss regarding Obama's total lack of credibility and influence in the REAL affairs of the nation. Instead of confronting the reality of a paper mache 'Hope and Change' President, we get distracting Obama blah blah! American democracy is dead, the Republic has been lost to private, vested interests for decades! (full story)

ruling elite The Discourse of Disconnect posted by quin, 2010-02-05 20:04:29
ARTIFICIAL debt, WAR, terror, fear and a discourse that has all the ‘appeal’ of a bit of shit on the end of a stick; with this arsenal ‘they’ hope to capture and manage an increasingly aware population; however, it is clear they have FAILED! The (predicted) global economic collapse of 2010 VERIFIES the FACT. Regardless of the name they attribute to the failure, ‘sub-prime,' 'sovereign debt' or whatever, the cause is the lack of sound, basic economic principles/policies. Production, savings/asset growth ensures stability and prosperity FOR ALL; debt-fuelled, rampant consumerism ensures collapse, simple! 'Their solution’ in times of built-in system-failure (huge DISPARITY) is war, terror, fear and lawless assassination squads targeting ‘their’ perceived enemies – it has come to this, an open SOCIO-PATHOLOGY! Certainly no model for enduring success, plain to see! (full story and 1 comments)

tragic Obama ‘blah, blah’ chirp American Newswires .. posted by harley, 2010-02-03 21:05:45
In dread and/or denial U.S. newswires continue to treat Obama as if he’s an independent thinking person/leader of some sort – are you people for real? Laugh, cry or whatever, but it’s painfully clear, Obama is completely subservient to the powers that placed him in office. The neo-con agenda hasn’t missed a beat, and you wonder why the world doesn’t take you seriously anymore. Enough of this Obama ‘blah, blah,’ as if he’s something other than a SHAMELESS, black lackey, errand boy, house slave, puppet, for corporate vested interests and entrenched financial elites! Murdoch's man, Comms Minister Conroy, clearly not happy with Court Ruling! Internet Censorship in Oz: Forces of Freedom vs Forces of Oppression posted by Kismo, 2010-02-03 18:26:05
The Federal Court in Sydney today ruled in favour of Internet Service Provider, iiNet, in an action mounted by a group of AMERICAN and local media heavies which include, Universal Pictures, Warner Bros, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, 20th Century Fox, Disney, Village Roadshow and the local Seven TV Network. These mega-media companies claimed that iiNet infringed copyright by allowing subscribers to download/share movies, television programs and other media products; however, Justice Dennis Cowdroy stated in the clearest possible terms that it was “impossible” to hold iiNet responsible for the actions of its subscribers! You bewdy! That’s one for the people; how does it feel, Rupert? (full story and 1 comments)

“It’s just a shot away” posted by ryall, 2010-02-02 09:36:35
It is with profound unease informed Aussies react to the news of Barack Obama’s planned visit to Oz in late March. We are a rough, racist, xenophobic culture down here and many misinterpret our coarse manner and humour at times, I refer to tongue in cheek references of al-Qaeda snipers nested in Sydney’s Opera House waiting for Hillary Clinton’s visit, which was abruptly cancelled using the Haiti earthquake as an excuse. However, Obama’s visit is a far more serious matter, especially in the context of his complete inability to deliver on any of his pre-election promises and his overt perpetuation of neo-con policies. Obama is now despised by both sides of politics – a very unenviable position indeed! (full story)

Secret Banking Cabal Emerges From AIG Shadows posted by David Reilly via reed, 2010-02-01 07:50:38
The idea of secret banking cabals that control the country and global economy are a given among conspiracy theorists who stockpile ammo, bottled water and peanut butter. After this week’s congressional hearing into the bailout of American International Group Inc., you have to wonder if those folks are crazy after all. (full story)

LOL FOX rated No.1 ‘News’ Channel in US! posted by fleet, 2010-01-30 21:22:51
Slightly over 1,000 Americans surveyed, in a population approaching three hundred million, rated FOX News, ‘most trusted’ news outlet with a 50%-plus, approval rating; a figure well above the nearest competitor, CNN, with a 39% approval rating. The reason for Murdoch’s apparent success is plain to see – Murdoch completely dumped the charade of impartiality and deliberately wooed a partisan audience with the most biased and twisted commentary imaginable – so what’s the problem? People forget that News and the media are BUSINESSES, ie CORPORATE ENTITIES designed to turn a buck above ALL other considerations, TRUTH has little to do with it unless it happens to support an existing policy direction.
