Star-spangled BULLSHIT! Henry Paulson, too many ‘solutions’ NO results! posted by budgie, 2008-10-11 03:30:52
So far the only skill Henry Paulson and his fellow Banker, Wall St., elites have demonstrated is their ability to completely dominate the clueless government of the USA; a government so dependent on criminal free marketeers that it continues to rob the public on their demand! Flea pedalling 'See how they run,' house of (derivative) cards ready to collapse! posted by nano, 2008-10-10 04:46:57
From the absolute theocratic rule of Pharaohs through Rome’s military elites to the economic theorists of the modern era (Marx/Friedman) the failure of social groups and societies has less to do with flawed models than with ‘human frailty!’ Call it what you will but I prefer calling a spade a spade -- pig selfishness, greed and no regard for the less fortunate other. Sell your gold or kiss my arse, hypocrite! Market mayhem: that Old Black Magic ‘bailout’ posted by yarra, 2008-10-06 20:21:04
The world’s leading, independent economists all stated it wouldn’t and couldn’t work -- what, the sheeple bleat? The very fast-tracked Paulson ‘bailout’ (for his fat cat mates!) But what of the poor sheeple screwed by rogues so perfectly? You were warned, COMPLACENCY comes at a PRICE, baa’aa! (full story)

Mindless McCain Quote of the Century posted by finch, 2008-10-05 11:26:28
In an attempt to smear his rival Barack Obama, John McCain referred to a flimsy connection between Obama and Bill Ayers, a founding member of the weather underground. McCain’s now infamous quote given in a television interview was mentioned in a NYT article this week (link below): “How can you countenance someone [Ayers] who was engaged in bombings that could have or did kill innocent people?” Good point, John! Betrayed by the Bailout: The Death of Democracy posted by William Cox via reed, 2008-10-04 23:21:44
On this date, October 3, 2008, the American people were betrayed by those whom they had elected to represent them. The members of Congress who voted for the Wall Street "bailout" violated their oath of office to "support and defend the Constitution" ... "that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same" ... "and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: ..." (full story and 1 comments)

Common denominator: 9/11 and the Bush Doctrine posted by quill, 2008-10-04 22:52:10
Every branding, advertising and marketing trick in the book is employed by American neo-conservatives in their manic pursuit of world domination. Political destabilisation and promoting constant war are two well-known methods that Washington criminals employ. However, we should never forget that the first attack must necessarily be on language! (full story)

Woman, 90, Shoots Self Inside Foreclosed Home posted by dingo, 2008-10-04 00:29:01
We have all been trained to ‘internalise’ social problems; however, in the OVERWHELMING majority of cases it is our RULERS/LEADERS that are at FAULT! For those who missed it previously we quote the following: “the fact the government prefers to bailout the criminal bankers and not the people gives license to the people to DEFAULT ON ALL LOANS IN PROTEST OF A CORRUPT, CRIMINAL AND INCOMPETENT GOVERNMENT that has lined its own pockets at the expense of the people and the nation!” (full story)

Dimitry Medvedev Angela Merkel: no credible response to Medvedev posted by BBC staff report via rialator, 2008-10-03 04:19:40
German Chancellor, Agela ‘uber alles’ Merkel, responded to Russian President Medvedev’s pragmatism and realism with double standards and hypocrisy during talks in St Petersburg this week. Medvedev stated fact in relation to the demise of the USA as economic superpower and serious force in the region. Merkel, fully cognisant of the pipeline corridor/energy wars raging at present, responded with criticism of Russia’s actions in Georgia. She accused Russia of a “disproportionate” response to the unprovoked western-backed attack on innocent civilians in South Ossetia! Merkel may have been thinking of Germany’s clandestine role in the ILLEGAL secession of Kosovo when she added that Georgia's ‘territorial integrity’ "is non-negotiable!" (full story)

The dead children of Iraq ensure defeat for the murdering USA posted by Eric Margolis via rialator, 2008-10-03 02:06:42
Those Wall Street financial alchemists who turned garbage into gold must have helped John McCain prepare for his debate with Barack Obama last Friday. Senator McCain’s insistent claims that the US is winning the war in Iraq thanks to his "surge" strategy are the military-political equivalent of the junk securities that Wall Street’s shady financiers have been selling around the globe. The age of Puppet Government and Mindless Masses posted by krill, 2008-10-02 00:36:49
Events relating to the questionable competence and integrity of Bankers, Financiers, Corporate CEOs and the muted reaction of the American public this week are astounding to say the least. Only a few weeks ago President George ‘Milton’ Bush and Republican presidential candidate, John ‘bomb bomb’ McCain, were extolling the virtues of the American economy and the free market system; both men constantly repeated a mantra claiming the American economy is “fundamentally strong!” However, in a matter of DAYS the ‘strong’ economy SUDDENLY became the ‘dire crisis’ economy; it is now beyond any argument that our current batch of politicians are clueless -- what day is it, gentlemen? It seems ‘polly’ is required to parrot new lines for her cracker this week! (full story)

US Congress rejects flawed bailout: think outside the 'box!' posted by nano, 2008-09-30 00:52:57
To say the market was surprised by the House’s rejection of the ‘bailout’ proposal on Monday would be putting it mildly; however, BIG Finance and BIG Banking were NOT surprised one bit! Even more surprising was the fact that Republicans (GOP) were largely responsible for the rejection of the Bill! You know them, ‘God is the free market!’ One could become a cynic overnight faced with such inversions and ideological backflips; however, a careful approach and focused eye reveals much. George Bringing it ALL home! posted by finn, 2008-09-28 23:34:39
America and her allies are now reaping what they have sown. Would anyone but demented Americans imagine they would be immune from the consequences of their reckless actions? There was no avoiding the consequences of the drunken sailor spending of a clueless administration guided and controlled by the private interests that have pillaged, plundered and ruined not only the local economy but numerous foreign nations as well. From Kosovo, Central Asia to the resource wealth of Australia, the pigs gorged themselves like there was no tomorrow! And that is exactly the point – THERE IS ALWAYS A TOMORROW and NOBODY ‘gets out!’ (full story)

America's Fall From Power posted by John Gray via rialator, 2008-09-28 10:53:37
Our gaze might be on the markets melting down, but the upheaval we are experiencing is more than a financial crisis, however large. Here is a historic geopolitical shift, in which the balance of power in the world is being altered irrevocably. The era of American global leadership, reaching back to the Second World War, is over. The end of Voodoo Economics posted by Ian Williams via reed, 2008-09-28 08:45:21
Wall Street ideologues have been gambling our money and screwing us all. Now is a chance to correct their excesses.

As the all-too-often selectively quoted Adam Smith actually said: "All for ourselves, and nothing for other people, seems, in every age of the world, to have been the vile maxim of the masters of mankind." (full story)
