John Howard: Profile of a Coward posted by finch, 2007-02-13 11:52:15 The Australian Prime Minister, John Howard, has managed to gain some international attention after his hysterical attack on U.S. presidential candidate, Barack Obama. The seasoned Australian politician knowingly stated that a victory for Obama OR the Democrats would be a victory for al-Qaeda, “I mean, if I we're running al-Qaeda in Iraq, I would put a circle around March 2008 and pray as many times as possible for a victory not only for Obama but also for the Democrats”. Australia Day: national Shame and Failure day posted by finch, 2007-01-25 13:27:03 I had to laugh out loud this tragic ‘Australia’ Day; are we celebrating our total disregard for a national identity by allowing a foreign power to indefinitely torture an Australian citizen, David Hicks? Should we beam with pride at the ‘Australian’ flag, incorporating the pommy Union Jack? Or perhaps we should pay homage to the most cowardly, servile and traitorous Prime Minister in Australian history! Australia Day 2007 will long be remembered as national shame day. A nowhere people celebrating a nowhere nation with the appropriate ‘leader’ who leads his herd of cringing servile nobodies, nowhere! Today we all share in the most pathetic and tragic Australia Day in history, Oi, Oi, Oink! (full story) social/political / national
Oz Minister’s Identity Crisis posted by finch, 2007-01-17 09:21:26 The ‘Australian’ Foreign Minister, Alexander Downer, familiar to the local population as an American apologist, stooge and lackey, appears to have lost every vestige of a national identity as he strained today to defend the illegal detention by the criminal Bush regime of the Australian citizen, David Hicks. Mr. Downer’s muddled and professionally unqualified statements regarding the mental health of David Hicks, after five years detention in Guantanamo Bay concentration camp, only serve to highlight his personal dereliction of duty and his traitorous attitude to a foreign power. Inanity for Xmas posted by finch, 2006-12-24 08:48:10 The arch-conservative Anglican Dean of Sydney's St. Andrews Cathedral, Phil Jensen, has delivered a Christmas message worthy of the most mindless, inane comment that the infamous neo-con war monger and lunatic Donald “unknown knowns” Rumsfeld could have delivered. The Dean stated that “Christmas is about God giving, that God gave the gift of God and the gift of God, is God," (!) Those Australians who imagined that mindless, unqualified statements only issued from American neo-cons be advised, conservative pro-American Evangelicals are alive and very ‘unwell’ in conservative Anglican Sydney. Puppet leadership in Western ‘Democracies’ posted by nano, 2006-12-12 08:42:44 Corporate power and rulership in western societies is complete, governments either conform to corporate dictates or are quickly replaced by compliant political alternatives. The management of information via the monopolised mass media and the complete domination of the economy maintain and sustain corporate supremacy. The masses suffer increased subjection (debt slavery) and vulnerability (limited options) as a result of decreased representation by governments. Corporate rule has reduced the real status of the public to servility and subservience, not dissimilar to the ancient Roman model of kept house-slaves. The belief that Roman slaves were constantly maltreated is based on erroneous images (whipped galley-slaves) that Hollywood and the entertainment industry have popularised. Ancient Roman slaves lived in basic but tolerable conditions, similar (in relative terms) to the servile masses of today. (full story) social/political / national
Australian Politics and Corporate Rulership posted by peptide, 2006-12-03 10:08:39 It may be time for a change; the credentials of Kevin Rudd, new leader of the opposition in Australia, certainly indicate that a change of national leadership may be on the horizon. Kevin Rudd, the man from KPMG and DFAT, with the added bonus of strong conservative Christian values, is looking like a prime candidate for change at National level BUT (and it’s a biggie) will the real rulers of Australia, the Macquarie Bank/Group and the huge resource/mining Transnational Corporate sector back the ‘wild parochial boy’ from Queensland in his bid for the top puppet job as Prime Minister? Breaking Oz with News posted by brumble B, 2006-12-01 15:27:16 Fiji prepares for Oz invasion by leaving blackhawk helicopters on its beaches. A kava intoxicated Commodore Frank 'Bullawayo' has once again forgotten his coup deadline and Australia's Minister of Defence, Dr Brendan (studs) Nelson, faces hostile relatives over the latest cover-ups and military fiascos! Well done, ‘studs’, the record of Robert (suck harder) Hill will soon be under threat. (full story and 1 comments) social/political / national
Blinded by the Shite posted by finch, 2006-11-07 19:16:08 One medium size cauliflower, $3.46, bananas remain at $13/kilo at Coles Meyer supermarkets as of 8/11. Australian food prices at the grass roots Mr. (incompetent economic manager) Howard. John Howard is without doubt Australia’s biggest liar, racist, war criminal and scoundrel Prime Minister; he is also proving to be a thoroughly incompetent economic manager – just across the Tasman bananas remain at $2/kilo. The hard times (water shortages) haven’t hit yet but they soon will; can you imagine Howard’s performance in a real crisis if the above prices are an example of his management in relatively easy times? Meat Sheik, Anglican paedophilia, and non-regulation Jewish foreskin posted by nano, 2006-10-29 08:07:46 This past week in Australia has been ‘fundamentally’ outstanding; dim-witted fundamentalist religionists vied with each other for top billing in the local media. Never has the nation seen such retarded behaviour from so many diverse religious groups. The prize for fundamentalist imbecile of the week however goes to the Muslim cleric Sheik al-Hilali for his retrogressive reference to women as “uncovered meat”. He unashamedly placed the responsibility for rape and other sexually violent acts onto women; men were exonerated on the basis that “uncovered meat” is sexually provocative! The local media now refers to the cleric as the “Meat Sheik” and continues to sensationalise aspects of the story. (full story) mass media / national
Australian 'Public' Broadcaster becomes Government Media Outlet posted by Cleaves Editorial Team, 2006-10-16 09:40:50 The Australian Public Broadcaster -- "your ABC" -- has been re-shaped to become a government media platform. The 'new' editorial policy is designed to curb the "perceived" bias in presentation, said Mark Scott, the new managing director.
For a very brief nano-second we all thought that Lateline would forego its role as the Liberal Party's mouthpiece -- but no such luck. (full story) mass media / national
Climate Change and Corporate Litigation Anxiety posted by dingo, 2006-10-13 22:05:53 A recent news item on NPR this week -- legal action against the automotive industry in the USA for its complicity in global warming -- has let the ‘bull’ out of the bag; the ‘cat’ has bolted; the unmentionable has finally been plainly stated! Nothing occurs in a vacuum and climate change is no exception. Liable groups/parties/corporations continue to lobby governments and manipulate public opinion in their efforts to minimise any litigation arising from their complicity in poisoning our planet. Present reality dictates that the future tenability of numerous species, including humans is under threat; nevertheless, profits and economic factors remain the primary consideration for leaders of industry and governments. [This criminally perverse view will ironically prove to be the most expensive error of judgement in human history.] (full story and 1 comments) environment / national
‘Honeypot’ for Keelty and Ruddock posted by budgie, 2006-10-11 20:21:03 We have recently received some unverifiable information regarding a purported obsession shared by Mick Keelty of the AFP and the Attorney-General, Philip Ruddock. The information referred to the existence of a “missing category” of terrorists whose activities have been severely affecting the ability of regulatory authorities to adequately fulfil their social obligations. Keelty and Ruddock, in their quest for tighter social regulation, have encountered certain aberrations in the social matrix, the cause of which remains a mystery! Over-regulated Personality Types posted by barra, 2006-10-02 06:58:33 The Australian Attorney General, Philip Ruddock, once again demonstrates who and what he is; not content with making a thorough ass of himself in the recent past [link below] Ruddock now attempts to redeem himself by making a grab for the title of totalitarian buffoon of the new century. Australia now holds the dubious distinction of being the first developed (first world) ‘democratic’ nation in the new century to ban books! These blatant totalitarian tactics place Ruddock in interesting company; Chinese Cultural Revolution, Pol Pot year zero, Nazi book burnings, etc; Hello, Mr. Orwell! Suicide Bomber posted by leef, 2006-09-24 16:59:27 Perhaps the two most feared words in the English language today are “suicide bomber”; the propaganda machine in the west ensures that these two words continue to strike fear and terror into the hearts of the civilian population. Circumstances occasionally present all of us with unusual opportunities. When a young man who claimed the above distinction wished to make known his story it would have been a dereliction of my profession to refuse the request. The public interest is not served unless both sides of a story are made available. (full story and 1 comments) imperialism / national
National Identity Crisis posted by dingo, 2006-09-17 05:43:25 Australia takes the idiot news of the week award once again. ‘Onya Oz for not laughing the Prime Minister, John Howard, and the imbecile leader of the opposition, Kim Beazley, out of Parliament and office for their ridiculous and illogical attempts to gain political advantage by exploiting the underlying racism and cringe mentality in the local ‘culture’.
