The Law is an Ass, by Philip Ruddock posted by budgie, 2006-09-08 11:42:22 The Attorney General of Australia, Philip Ruddock, announced today that broader ranges of people in the community (including non-Muslims) are to be targeted as “terrorists!” Ruddock also stated that persons who are not ‘terrorists’ need not be alarmed as his new wider classification should not concern ‘them’(?)
In view of today's announcement, Ruddock is now obliged by Law to define what he imagines constitutes a (non-Muslim) "terrorist". It is well known by legal advocates around the globe that a clear and comprehensive definition of "terrorism" would label the Bush, Blair, Olmert and Howard regimes as terrorist! The onus is now on that Nazi buffoon Ruddock, to account for the vagaries in his 'determinations'. The Attorney General risks being branded a paranoid and delusory idiot if he fails to clarify his previous statements. At present he remains the focus of scorn, ridicule and a source of public entertainment. Do your best Mr. Attorney (imbecile) General! (full story and 1 comments) injustice/law / national
Hicks, Guantanamo and the Howard Government posted by dingo, 2006-08-14 13:37:00 Good, bad or just plain stupid, David Hicks remains an Australian son. Democratic nations have a responsibility to protect their citizens in times of need; a number of democratic nations have already successfully repatriated their citizens from the illegal torture centre of Guantanamo Bay; however, after a period of four years the Howard government has been unable or unwilling to effect the repatriation of David Hicks.
If a truly strong case against Hicks existed it surely would have been prosecuted to the full advantage of the terrorist scare campaign that Bush constantly wages on the American people. The fact that the USA is loath to give Hicks a fair and open trial, and in view of the obvious manipulative tactics utilised by corrupt U.S. ‘legal’ officers to delay proceedings, it would appear that the grounds upon which the U.S. military have based their ‘case’ is extremely flimsy and/or could attract litigation for illegal detention, torture and human rights abuses! The Weevil and the Prick posted by finn, 2006-07-09 18:23:09 The impatient Australian treasurer Peter (supercilious prick) Costello has finally done it; he has openly exposed the Australian Prime Minister as a bald-faced LIAR. Costello did however attempt to take the high moral ground by stating he would never have made certain comments if others hadn’t done so first, his comments were to set the “record straight”, he said. Costello confirmed that a deal existed to turn the Leadership/Prime Ministership over to him after Howard served one and one half terms in office. Costello’s statement bluntly contradicts the statement of the Prime Minister who is on record as stating that neither he nor the treasurer had entered into any deal regarding a hand over of power. [Déjà vu, Bob and Paul – there is no intoxication like the intoxication of power!] (full story) social/political / national
The USA pushes Australia into the arms of China posted by Kwang zi, 2006-06-27 15:19:37 The Zionists in Washington (Perle, Wolfowitz etc) have the entire Bush regime distracted. While America fights all of Israel’s major wars in the Middle East – to no advantage whatsoever for America – the most strategically important regions in the world are left to other nations. As world power shifts inexorably eastward, to China, America is at a loss to meet the challenges of the future. (full story) social/political / national
John Howard in Asia posted by peptide, 2006-06-26 15:45:45 John Howard was ‘surprised’ when he encountered the President of Indonesia, while taking his early morning walk in Jakarta, reported News Radio Australia. The report stated that Howard was “visibly shocked” by the unexpected encounter, which obviously was intended to deliver a clear message; the Indonesian President is not known for taking early morning walks, we can therefore conclude that his gesture was calculated. The Colonisation of Australia posted by dingo, 2006-06-19 13:19:21 The world’s most cowardly leader, John Howard, has surpassed even himself with his latest spineless effort of making a gift of the (once sovereign) Australian nation to the Yanks. The clearest indication of America’s newest colonial acquisition is the construction of permanent US military bases in the Northern Territory and Western Australia. Those who imagine that US bases are not an indication of US military or economic supremacy, think again. Locating all the US bases on the globe is a revealing exercise. Without exception all the bases that exist outside continental USA have been built after either military or economic CONQUEST. (full story and 3 comments) social/political / national
Youth Suicide and Howard’s Australia posted by Reid, 2006-06-13 13:51:09 Thank you for your article (link below) on Howard and particularly for highlighting his disregard for Australian youth. I am appalled by his attitude to young Australians. Australia has one of the highest youth suicide rates in the developed world and little wonder; the short-term interests of corporate profit, crushing taxation laws and the introduction of ‘guest workers’ have stolen the future from the majority of our youth. Our youth now experience ever-increasing difficulty obtaining work skills needed for their survival. (full story and 1 comments) social equality/unity / national
Behind the Lies of the Australian Prime Minister posted by finn, 2006-06-11 11:30:16 It’s not difficult to arrive at an accurate assessment of the present Oz leadership, the government of John Howard. Love Howard or not, he has the local population eating his lies like it was manna from heaven. Howard’s treasurer recently announced that the Oz government was out of debt, in view of a 'national' foreign debt of $493 billion, the highest ever recorded by an astronomical ‘mile’, the announcement of the elimination of 'government' debt becomes meaningless double-talk. But which figure does the public prefer to embrace? The lie of course, it’s far more comforting – the media’s emphasis on the treasurer’s remarks at the expense of the horrendous crippling debt is not unintentional. The Rolling Terrorist posted by dingo, 2006-06-07 08:43:26 The infamous Jemaah Islamiyah leader, Abu Bakar Bashir, is soon to be released after serving only twenty-six months of his thirty-month sentence for conspiracy in the Bali bombings, which killed over two hundred innocent civilians. The Australian Foreign Minister, Alexander Downer, was quick to make a statement to the press lamenting Australia’s helplessness in the circumstances. Downer’s pathetic statement was designed to distract the world’s attention away from the steaming Indonesian Turd in John Howard’s face! We recall Howard ‘caving in’ over the West Papuan refugee issue and the insults levelled at him (from Indonesia) at that time. (full story) social/political / national

Boffins, Buffoons and Intelligence Agencies posted by junior, 2006-05-07 19:18:33 Paul O'Sullivan, Director-General ASIO, recently fielded questions after his public address at the Sydney Institute. In response to a question relating to the Cronulla race riots, the ASIO chief confirmed that extremism from any quarter (left or right) would attract the attention of our domestic watchdog. His answer prompted a memory recall of the most infamous failure of our domestic spy agencies, the Sydney Hilton Bombing of February ’78. (full story) social/political / national
The State of (Oz) Affairs posted by dingo, 2006-04-30 15:21:15 No greater tragedy has beset the Australian nation than at the present time. Everything that is un-Australian masquerades as the leader of the nation; is it necessary to name John Howard as the personification of everything that is un-Australian? A cowardly, cringing, lying, weevil does not an Australian make! Howard is the most grotesque, obnoxious flea that has ever inhabited political office. A perfect coward and pathological liar has won the last two elections by default. The local population desperately sought a viable opposition but found NONE; a high school student could have beaten Howard but not the present opposition; no greater congregation of self-centred, self-destructive, inept fools has ever sullied the floor of parliament. Anachronism visits Australia posted by finch, 2006-03-12 02:45:29 Two high profile women visit Oz, an anachronism and a modern evolutionary equivalent, the Queen of England, Lizzy, and the US Secretary of State, Condy. The Australian cringe faces the focus of its pathological fears of independence. India, Pakistan and numerous tiny island ex-colonial nations have become independent but to Australia’s great shame it is yet unable to assert its full independence. Instead it has played its psychosis like an octave and transposed its complex to daddy America – chunder! (full story and 2 comments) imperialism / national
Christian Activism in Oz: Pine Gap Protest posted by Sean O'Reilly, 2006-03-06 11:50:23 On Friday in the Alice Springs Magistrate’s Court, magistrate Melanie Little found me not guilty of obstructing a Commonwealth official. The charge, which carries a maximum 2 years imprisonment, arose out of the Pine Gap 6’s action in December under the banner of Christians Against All Terrorism. After four of the group had been arrested inside the base attempting to carry out a citizen’s inspection, Jessica Morrison and I were detained by Commonwealth Protective Services (CPS) officers as we vigiled in support at the base entrance. As the traffic banked up in what eventually was a 4-hour lockdown of Pine Gap, I was arrested by officer David Parker after questioned his authority for searching our vehicle and removing cameras, banners and other belongings. On Monday, the assistant federal prosecutor for the Northern Territory, Mr. Paul Usher, presented evidence provided by Parker, fellow CPS officer, Veronica Maass, a further CPS officer and 2 N.T police officers.
