A wave of euphoria swept through Cairo’s symbolic Tahrir Square after Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was forced to resign and hand over power to the military. However, the joy and euphoria of the moment may be short-lived if the PEOPLE do not remain VIGILANT and INSIST on REFORM and REPRESENTATIVE GOVERNMENT – we should never forget the old adage, particularly in the current situation, “a change of leaders is the joy of fools!” (full story)

It could easily be said that biological simplifications are ultra-conservative world views; we all remember the Nazi 'master race' and the, ‘them or us’ simplification of dubya Bush, “you’re either with us or you're with the terrorists!” Banal and simplistic statements/logic are indeed the hallmark of CONSERVATISM. It would seem that the brain function -- or rather lack thereof -- associated with the fear response relates directly to LOW LEVELS of INTELLIGENCE rather than physiology, and as our readership is well aware, knowledge dramatically reduces FEAR; put simply, we are afraid of what we do not know -- IGNORANCE in other words, as stated many times on this site, is the ‘MOTHER OF FEAR.’ (full story and 2 comments)
