Oz PM, Kevin 'photo op' Rudd Criminally Incompetent Rudd Government posted by baz, 2009-05-20 23:31:44
The IMF and World Bank were past masters (until Asia woke to the ruse) at enslaving resource rich third world nations with CRUSHING DEBT, which facilitated their rape by first world nations. Impossible debts were incurred by poorer nations, which effectively placed the wealth of those nations at the disposal of those that controlled the IMF and World Bank, primarily the US and Transnational interests! Obama: the Smiling Assassin posted by budgie, 2009-05-19 23:14:55
After receiving endorsements from Cheney, Powell, Rice, Kissinger and numerous other AMERICAN EXTREMISTS, TERRORISTS and WAR CRIMINALS it is hardly surprising Obama is what he IS; a lying, despicable fraud and expeditor of a status quo that was set in motion long before even Bill Clinton’s Balkan invasion and deregulation of the financial/banking sectors – the reader will note that today’s US militarism and financial catastrophes are the result of Clinton’s deregulation policies and his attack on a sovereign Balkan nation -- notwithstanding America has not yet seen a retaliatory response from the persecuted Serbs. Cayman Island and other ‘haven’ Banks panicking! posted by dev null, 2009-05-18 02:18:20
For those unaware that Cayman Island banks offer refuge for corporate tax cheats, drug cartels, CIA and other sordid organisations – BE ADVISED! A huge percentage of the filthy cash deposited in ‘haven’ accounts has been utilised to prop up (failed) US banks – did you really imagine criminal and clandestine ‘refuge’ banks were somehow disconnected or separated from the rest of the banking world, you greedy morons? All those filthy, mega CASH deposits have been absorbed and distributed as digital numerics throughout the entire banking world– in other words, the bulk of the cash is gone! But you could always go to the FBI or other regulatory body and ‘scream’ that you’ve been robbed, or that all 'YOUR' stolen blood money HAS BEEN STOLEN! (full story and 2 comments)

Psychopath, 'Stanley' McChrystal Law abiding nation? Sure we are! posted by Prof James Petras via zed, 2009-05-17 22:23:35
“The Deltas are psychos…You have to be a certified psychopath to join the Delta Force…”, a US Army colonel from Fort Bragg once told me back in the 1980’s. Now President Obama has elevated the most notorious of the psychopaths, General Stanley McChrystal, to head the US and NATO military command in Afghanistan. McChrystal’s rise to leadership is marked by his central role in directing special operations teams engaged in extrajudicial assassinations, systematic torture, bombing of civilian communities and search and destroy missions. He is the very embodiment of the brutality and gore that accompanies military-driven empire building. Between September 2003 and August 2008, McChrystal directed the Pentagon’s Joint Special Operations (JSO) Command which operates special teams in overseas assassinations. (full story and 2 comments)

Phil Gould crying! Infantile Nation: Gang Bang vs ‘Professional’ Services posted by velvet, 2009-05-15 02:16:13
I have been waiting patiently for a commentator, journalist or academic to write a rebuttal to the prurient media frenzy surrounding a top grade Aussie footballer’s sexual misadventures, subsequent SCAPEGOATING and social crucifixion by the ‘dingo ate my baby,’ Oz mass media! However, not unexpectedly, NONE have been forthcoming – not surprising, as sensationalism replaced integrity in Oz journalism decades past! (full story)

Who Rules America? posted by Paul Craig Roberts via reed, 2009-05-14 20:13:18
What do you suppose it is like to be elected president of the United States only to find that your power is restricted to the service of powerful interest groups?

A president who does a good job for the ruling interest groups is paid off with remunerative corporate directorships, outrageous speaking fees, and a lucrative book contract. If he is young when he assumes office, like Bill Clinton and Obama, it means a long life of luxurious leisure. (full story)

Be careful what you wish for, Kevin Rudd! posted by peptide, 2009-05-13 11:34:53
It wasn’t too long ago a disillusioned Australian nation elected a new leader with the hope the new leader would represent the electorate NOT the elites the previous PM served! However, it soon became apparent the new leader, Kevin 07, was just another servile lackey walking in the subservient footsteps of the previous leader, John Howard. The Australian population was sorely disappointed, to say the least. (full story and 1 comments)

Killing Civilians and the new Barbarism posted by major mitchell, 2009-05-10 02:35:05
Few anticipated, at the time, that the strategic MODEL employed by the US and NATO in the Balkans would be utilised in other regions to the same effect, ILLEGAL APPROPRIATIONS of RESOURCES and TERRITORIES via MILITARY FORCE and media disinformation! However, in stark contrast to US/NATO activities during the Balkan intervention, civilian casualties today have (drone)rocketed; it seems a new, consciously undertaken tactical turn for the worse has occurred in contemporary warfare!

[Would anyone really be surprised by devolution in the state of play in view of the degree to which NATO/America OPENLY FLOUTS the Geneva Convention, International Law and a range of other civilised conventions, which once ensured the relative peace of the world?] (full story and 2 comments)

The Everyday Extremism of Washington posted by Tom Engelhardt via fleet, 2009-05-09 02:30:56
A front-page New York Times headline last week put the matter politely indeed: "In Pakistan, U.S. Courts Leader of Opposition." And nobody thought it was strange at all.

In fact, it's the sort of thing you can read just about any time when it comes to American policy in Pakistan or, for that matter, Afghanistan. It's just the norm on a planet on which it's assumed that American civilian and military leaders can issue pronunciamentos about what other countries must do; publicly demand various actions of ruling groups; opt for specific leaders, and then, when they disappoint, attempt to replace them; and use what was once called "foreign aid," now taxpayer dollars largely funneled through the Pentagon, to bribe those who are hard to convince.
