From China through Indonesia to Japan, the racist Howard government has become the laughing stock of all Asia. The Indians may have taken the victimisation of one of their citizens to heart. Employing a variation of Scotland Yard misinformation, a bogus ‘dossier’ was produced to great effect. The ‘white’ pointer bit with a vengeance only to have the Indian authorities denounce the ‘dossier’ as fake – all at Howard’s and Keelty’s expense. (full story)

A clear indication that Australian ‘authorities’ are culpable in their treatment of Dr Haneef is when the investigation departs into the fantastic. Police are presently making amorous advances in the direction of the absurd, ludicrous and fantastic – I knew my literature major would come in handy one day – fiction of the absurd, metafiction, fabulation and various other genres may all converge and lay claim to the Haneef FARCE but the world of reality can make no claim whatsoever! Either Dr. Mohamed Haneef is the most cunning and brazen terrorist the world has ever seen or he’s innocent of all the slurs and accusations levelled at him. Some of us with an attention span of more than a minute remember the Chamberlain case and the appalling behaviour of the local media at the time. Dr. Mohamed Haneef effectively challenged the Australian Minister of Immigration, Kevin Andrews, to reveal information relating to the cancellation of his visa. Haneef has nothing to hide as his challenge to Andrews clearly indicates, "I don't know what reasons he has [for revoking visa]. I would like him to come forward and give these facts," Haneef stated to the media in Bangalore. The onus is now on the flagrantly racist Australian government whose international reputation is in tatters over the scapegoating of an Indian doctor for purely political purposes. (full story)

Note Howard’s exact phrasing, "Australia will not be apologising to Dr Haneef,” [my emphasis.] Howard hides behind his office to imply the Australian nation refuses to apologise when it is clear that Howard only represents a backward-looking retrogressive conservative/racist element of Australian society. While analysing the George W. Bush administration's lead-up to the Iraq invasion, Solomon plays a news clip of Eason Jordan, a CNN News chief executive who, in an interview with CNN, boasts of the network's cadre of professional "military experts". In fact, CNN's retired military generals turned war analysts were so good, Eason said, that they had all been vetted and approved by the U.S. government. (full story)

Few silver platter opportunities occur in politics but failing to take advantage is unforgivable. The whole (thinking) nation is wondering why the opposition leader failed to capitalise on the Haneef fabrication/collusion/‘fit’/DEBACLE! Rudd has been doing his best of late to completely close the ideological gap between Howard and himself. Kevin Rudd seems to be seeking an unholy conservative marriage with his ‘arch-rival’, John Howard – some may be perplexed at the opposition leader's recent behaviour; however, we are reminded that conservatism never opposes itself! The American people may not know it but they have some severe problems with one of their official governmental entities, the Central Intelligence Agency. Because of the almost total secrecy surrounding its activities and the lack of cost accounting on how it spends the money covertly appropriated for it within the defense budget, it is impossible for citizens to know what the CIA's approximately 17,000 employees do with, or for, their share of the yearly $44 billion-$48 billion or more spent on "intelligence." This inability to account for anything at the CIA is, however, only one problem with the Agency and hardly the most serious one either. (full story)

The one positive aspect of long term Presidents and Prime Ministers is they usually catch what they have thrown and in that sense Bush is catching a huge amount of shit mixed with blood. Even a cretin like Bush is able to understand where the neo-cons have taken him, to the halls of the world’s most infamous and inept political leaders. A self-respecting Japanese leader would have committed suicide by now but the world knows an American coward and moron when it sees one, and what a tragic and pathetic sight it makes! (full story)

Most professional criminologists are familiar with criminal dissociation and denial; in lay terms the victim or ‘other’ is always responsible or at ‘fault,’ the perpetrator never accepts responsibility for their (criminal) actions – ‘they/you’ are responsible never me! In view of this pathological condition it is hardly surprising that authorities display dissociative pathologies when confronted with their deeds. In the face of the rising civilian death toll in Iraq, which recent John Hopkins studies place at close to one million innocent souls, responsibility for these deaths is avoided like the plague! The criminals who disregarded international law and UN reports in order to gain control of Iraq's precious oil resource are known to history and the world, yet the silence surrounding their guilt is 'deafening.' Following NATO’s support of KLA terrorist separatists and Bush’s promise to support secessionist moves by Albanians living in the Serbian province of Kosovo, Condoleezza ‘war whore’ Rice, today “assured” leading separatists the U.S. is “committed” to Kosovo's independence “within months” regardless of UN Security Council decisions! Isn’t that just typical? We are all reminded of America ignoring accurate UN reports that WMD did NOT exist in pre-invasion Iraq but America, in usual rustic fashion, invaded anyway and created the world’s worst humanitarian tragedy since WWII -- innocent civilian casualties are fast approaching one million!
