Mike 'gung fuckin ho' Vickers Sorry, Charlie. This Is Michael Vickers's War posted by Ann Scott Tyson via rialator, 2007-12-30 17:26:45
In the Pentagon's newly expanded Special Operations office, a suite of sterile gray cubicles on the "C" ring of the third floor, Assistant Secretary of Defense Michael G. Vickers is working to implement the U.S. military's highest-priority plan: a global campaign against terrorism that reaches far beyond Iraq and Afghanistan. (full story and 2 comments)

David Hicks and ‘Freedom’ posted by col, 2007-12-29 07:58:55
David Hicks walked ‘free’ from Yatala high security prison yesterday but freedom is a very ambiguous term and an extremely elusive state. Hicks is discovering, after his release, that prison walls are not necessarily physical. After suffering five years of the most insidious, horrendous, psychological and physical TORTURE at the Guantanamo Bay torture facility, David Hicks could in no way be described as ‘free.’ He will carry the scars left by Guantanamo for the rest of his life – psychologically Hicks remains incarcerated. However, he need not remain a mental cripple, many have survived torture to live and ‘fight’ again. (full story and 1 comments)

Jack Kennedy Bhutto assassination update! posted by gill, 2007-12-28 08:48:41
Pakistan’s interior ministry is in frantic damage control in the wake of Benazir Bhutto's assassination. In a futile attempt to extinguish the flames of rebellion, the interior ministry today claimed that Benazir Bhutto died as a result of bumping her head on the roof of the vehicle in which she was travelling. They also claimed that no bullet or shrapnel wounds were found on her body! ‘No doubt,’ and I had breakfast with John F Kennedy -- he was shot with a bullet that could turn corners! Pervez alive, Benazir dead! Goodbye to both Benazir Bhutto killed: what price a human life? posted by gan, 2007-12-27 05:42:28
Benazir Bhutto shot and killed while campaigning in Rawalpindi yesterday!

Inadequate security measures at a campaign rally allowed an assassin to discharge five shots at Bhutto one of which penetrated her neck killing her. After discharging his weapon the suicide gunman detonated a bomb-belt killing himself and at least ten people in close proximity. (full story and 2 comments)

‘Taliban:’ term of convenience posted by cleaves, 2007-12-26 10:22:37
The American led western (NATO) criminal alliance is crumbling -- as criminal empires often do! A report on BBC radio finally stated an open fact to the people. A fact that NATO/US and even insignificant Australia have known for some time; a military ‘victory’ in Afghanistan is “impossible!” (full story)

Rebel groups and double standards highlight lawless world posted by dingo, 2007-12-25 09:05:00
Incessantly accusing Bush and his neo-cons of war crimes is clearly counter-productive. He has been comprehensively exposed for the WMD fraud and numerous other crimes. His actions have resulted in a human holocaust -- over one million innocent lives lost in Iraq yet international authorities and the public could care less. OUR complacency and INACTION give license to Bush and his ilk to pursue their crimes with vigour; it's open slather on just about everything – and don’t they, the powers, know it! (full story)

Reversed Asymmetry posted by dave, 2007-12-24 21:48:14
The sheeple are incapable of lucid thought so it’s necessary to drive the point home with simple and repetitive slogans and news items – ‘just an ol’ fashioned love song’ from a burnt-out ad man, but bear with it for a while. (full story)

Linguistic somersaults indicate extremely sick U.S. Economy posted by Kingfisher, 2007-12-24 10:58:58
Previous articles have drawn attention to linguistic tricks stock markets employ to deceive the public. On a specified day “selling” became ‘profit taking,’ a highly inaccurate and misleading term as selling incurs both profit and loss – but don’t alarm (sheeple) investors for Christ’s sake! Today’s sub-prime, circular credit markets have taken a very dangerous linguistic turn toward even greater DENIAL, which is symptomatic of the disease not the cure. The latest divorced from reality market expression saturating the mass media is, “write-down,” which actually means LOSS! The following headline from Marketwatch is typical: (full story)

George Orwell Christmas double-speak for the masses posted by budgie, 2007-12-23 21:29:26
Let’s start with a couple of whoppers so the moronic masses are able to comprehend. First we have the former Yugoslavia and the show trial of its leader Slobodan Milosevic – now deceased. I’m sure we remember the Hague war crimes tribunal and accusations that Milosevic was responsible for thousands of civilian deaths. This was to be NATO’s and America’s justification for reducing a single nation to a number of fractured, tiny, POWERLESS ‘states,’ which have since been subsumed by Western Europe – that wasn’t the plan, was it? Cherie Blair: the tormented face of religion The Burden of Guilt: Tony Blair converts to Catholicism posted by barra, 2007-12-23 10:40:32
Murderers carry an exceedingly heavy burden, how much greater the burden for mass murderers? Whether or not Blair’s conversion is the result of a pressing need to relieve the pain of his inner torment or is related to other factors – his wife is a devout RC – the guilt factor is difficult to dismiss. The US Dollar: The Long Farewell? posted by Gwynne Dyer via reed, 2007-12-22 09:02:17

Rice: wishful thinking or divorced from reality? posted by cveta, 2007-12-21 10:16:40
A report by David Gollust of VOA makes extraordinary reading given the current situation in Kosovo. Surely not even the rabid Condi Rice would make such emphatic and unrealistic statements as “Serbia and Kosovo will never be part of the same country again, and all those concerned should work for a stable outcome in the Balkans based on that reality.” Professional politicians never say never, Condi, nor do they dictate “reality” in situations where they only have a tenuous toehold, as is the case with America in the Balkans. The ‘toe’ to which I refer is the precariously situated military base, Bondsteel. (full story and 1 comments)

The time it takes a falling nation to disintegrate posted by gan, 2007-12-20 21:15:40
The amount of money America splashes around in aid, grants, loans, bribes and expenditure is astronomical. All things being unequal, America is spending what it does not have; the result of course is a dollar that plummets when other nations decide they cannot afford to maintain their dollar reserves. The drunken sailor economics of Bush and his fellow incompetents has already killed the American economy; the nation just hasn’t hit the ground yet! (full story)
