While in Adelaide the PM managed to avoid every major cultural event for which the city is known. For those not familiar with the term, wiki defines a Philistine as ‘a person that despises, undervalues or is unable to appreciate Art, Beauty, Intellectual Content, the Abstract, and Spiritual/Inspirational realities. Philistines are also said to be materialistic, conservative and favour convention.’ It is hardly surprising that a parochial bureaucrat from Pauline Hanson’s State of Queensland is a narrow minded materialist!
