One cannot help but draw parallels between the arrogance, foolhardiness and NARCISSISM of General George Armstrong Custer and his modern blonde counterpart, Kevin ‘photo-op’ Rudd. Both men share similar personality flaws, not the least being pathological narcissism, which also explains the one-man-band attitude of both men AND of course defines their greatest weakness and the inevitable cause of their ignominious FALL from grace. Not surprisingly the Corporate world has dispatched their LACKEY politicians to implement Carbon Trading schemes in the respective nations in which they hold sway. However, schemes that disadvantage the average person with CRUSHING additional TAXES while COMPENSATING Industry/Big Business for polluting, may prove a very hard sell to say the least – one national leader EXPOSED, who’s next? Allow me to clarify – every man and his dog is aware that Criminal Corporatists are responsible for the collapse of the global economy and that laissez-faire Capitalism is the ideological cause of all our current woes. Over twenty years ago (take note Al) an Australian commercial channel aired a program on the impending destructive effects of pollution on the climate and the environment. It was a measured, rational, non-sensationalist but heavily supported with scientific data presentation. It detailed the effects of global warming on major ocean currents and the dire consequences for North-Western Europe; it highlighted the potential wholesale destruction of sensitive coral reefs and the maritime ecology. It referred to biological indicators, stressed amphibians, frogs and the disturbed migration pattern of birds. All evident at the time – 20 years ago!
