Angela Merkel: no credible response to Medvedev posted by BBC staff report via rialator, 2008-10-03 04:19:40 German Chancellor, Agela ‘uber alles’ Merkel, responded to Russian President Medvedev’s pragmatism and realism with double standards and hypocrisy during talks in St Petersburg this week. Medvedev stated fact in relation to the demise of the USA as economic superpower and serious force in the region. Merkel, fully cognisant of the pipeline corridor/energy wars raging at present, responded with criticism of Russia’s actions in Georgia. She accused Russia of a “disproportionate” response to the unprovoked western-backed attack on innocent civilians in South Ossetia! Merkel may have been thinking of Germany’s clandestine role in the ILLEGAL secession of Kosovo when she added that Georgia's ‘territorial integrity’ "is non-negotiable!" The age of Puppet Government and Mindless Masses posted by krill, 2008-10-02 00:36:49 Events relating to the questionable competence and integrity of Bankers, Financiers, Corporate CEOs and the muted reaction of the American public this week are astounding to say the least. Only a few weeks ago President George ‘Milton’ Bush and Republican presidential candidate, John ‘bomb bomb’ McCain, were extolling the virtues of the American economy and the free market system; both men constantly repeated a mantra claiming the American economy is “fundamentally strong!” However, in a matter of DAYS the ‘strong’ economy SUDDENLY became the ‘dire crisis’ economy; it is now beyond any argument that our current batch of politicians are clueless -- what day is it, gentlemen? It seems ‘polly’ is required to parrot new lines for her cracker this week! (full story) social/political / international
Bringing it ALL home! posted by finn, 2008-09-28 23:34:39 America and her allies are now reaping what they have sown. Would anyone but demented Americans imagine they would be immune from the consequences of their reckless actions? There was no avoiding the consequences of the drunken sailor spending of a clueless administration guided and controlled by the private interests that have pillaged, plundered and ruined not only the local economy but numerous foreign nations as well. From Kosovo, Central Asia to the resource wealth of Australia, the pigs gorged themselves like there was no tomorrow! And that is exactly the point – THERE IS ALWAYS A TOMORROW and NOBODY ‘gets out!’ (full story) injustice/law / international
It’s done: Bankers win, YOU lose! posted by dingo, 2008-09-28 00:36:10 Does it hurt when you sit down? No! Be assured it soon will. Wall Street thieves have been exonerated and the dumbarse sheeple will take it where they always have, right up the Khyber Pass/arse! Former CEO of Goldman Sachs, Hank Paulson, is the hero of Wall Street’s hustlers and racketeers today -- he did it! Champagne corks are popping as far away as Sydney but I fear it may be premature; Rosemary’s baby will be stillborn! (full story and 1 comments) injustice/law / international
Only in America posted by yarra, 2008-09-26 09:51:39 Recent events in the USA relating to the economic meltdown highlight the old cliché, ‘only in America’ … is the population so subservient, passive, afraid and compliant that it accepts flagrant corruption and racketeering from the financial, banking and business sectors. It is not enough that fat cats wreak havoc on the quality of (American) life -- the clueless, puppet government on orders from the ruling private sector expect the overburdened American public to shoulder the entire responsibility for bailing out the Robber Barons who have destroyed the economy. Banking and Wall St Racketeers EXPOSED! posted by finch, 2008-09-23 23:09:50 Al Capone stated at the time of his arrest that he was a small fry criminal, he referred to bankers, businessmen and government as the biggest criminals in the land. Capone learned from his experiences as a hoodlum and his SYMBIOTIC relationship with those 'respectable authorities' who actually ran crime in the USA – organised crime cannot exist without corrupt officials, dishonest bankers and unscrupulous businessmen. Sarah Palin brandishes ‘phallic trophy:’ the symbolism is not lost posted by budgie, 2008-09-23 02:41:01 Holding a giant tube of ‘lipstick’ aloft there is no stopping this gutsy, all-American gal who is winning the hearts and subliminal minds of the American people. At present she is unbeatable; the democrats have no answer for the ‘Palin push,’ none whatsoever -- though an answer surely exists! (full story) social/political / international
[Failed] Corporate State USA posted by Kingfisher, 2008-09-20 00:53:22 The past few decades have seen Corporate interests laying siege on western democracies and completely vanquishing the democratic process and representative government – Abe Lincoln’s government of the people by the people is finito! Today’s ‘democracies’ are government by the Corporations for the Corporations for the very privileged few! If you are beginning to feel uncomfortable, like a slave or chump all I can say is, “if the shoe fits ..!” (full story and 3 comments) social/political / international
You’ve got three months, Malcolm, so far so good! posted by finch, 2008-09-18 12:50:23 We have refrained from writing stories relating to pathetic, subservient, dependent Australia, for obvious reasons -- it had promise once! However, the recent change of leadership in the opposition party was too great a temptation, especially in view of the preposterous lies and pretences that littered the new opposition leader’s opening speech. [Some explanation is required for American and international readers.] (full story and 2 comments) social/political / national
France set to replace failed Australia as ‘manager’ of Western Pacific posted by barra, 2008-09-17 02:42:15 We have seen Australia fail in Tonga, PNG, Vanuatu, Solomons, Fiji and of course the oil rich Timor-Leste – America and other nations view Oz’s ‘efforts’ in the region as lamentable, and rightly so! Would anyone expect any different from servile Prime Ministers, John Howard and Kevin Rudd – answer in a nutshell? (full story and 2 comments) imperialism / international
Oz dollar: another example of market manipulation posted by peptide, 2008-09-14 23:32:19 Traders and citizens would remember the Oz dollar hitting its lowest point in history at 49c to the American -- that result did not reflect actual ‘value’ but market manipulation and hysteria! Our then treasurer Paul Keating very unwisely made a now infamous remark warning that Australia could become a “banana republic” if the economy wasn’t reformed. World teaches rogue USA a lesson or ‘three’ posted by luis, 2008-09-12 11:29:14 America’s unilateralism, belligerence, arrogance, disrespect and LAWLESSNESS have PREDICTABLY attracted an orchestrated response from the world – it seems the world is teaching the MURDERING, TERRORIST, PIG a lesson it will never forget! Racist Australia finally grants visa to Snoop Dogg posted by budgie, 2008-09-11 22:54:25 Gangster rapper, Mr S. Dogg, was elated after Australia finally approved his visa application to perform in the country. Much to the nation's shame, a previous application was refused by the former conservative, racist government led by, “I was raised with those values,” John Howard. Australia’s appalling record with dark skinned humanity has gained it a loathsome reputation internationally. The most recent example is the overt scapegoating/victimisation of the dark skinned Indian doctor, Mohamed Haneef. It remains to be seen how far the current PM, Kevin ‘useless eunuch’ Rudd, is willing to pursue CRIMINAL CHARGES in relation to the obvious collusion between the former PM’s office, Federal Police Chief, ‘have another drink,’ Mick Keelty and former Immigration Minister, Kevin Andrews. Former Attorney General Philip ‘anal contractionist’ Ruddock may also be implicated – it would be surprising if he isn’t! (full story) injustice/law / international
The public considered fair game by Robber Barons, Speculators and Bankers posted by barra, 2008-09-10 22:19:11 Government regulators once controlled the degree to which the public could be robbed by big business -- the fear of social unrest, or political repercussions were the two principal moderating factors. However, today’s public has been taught to eat shit and like it! Armed with obscene amounts of extorted cash, powerful speculators brazenly fix oil prices and the value of other commodities via unregulated speculative markets. Recent oil price rises clearly highlight the fact and expose the gambit. (full story) social/political / international
The irrefutable lunacy and brazen HYPOCRISY of U.S. Evangelicals posted by fish, 2008-09-10 01:04:22 Prior to addressing the principal report, updates just to hand confirm America’s tailspin from major international influence to economically and politically bankrupt, pariah nation -- it’s over! The culmination of inane policies and LAWLESS unilateral pursuits could only lead to ruin. Arrogant America NOW begs for assistance when previously, like a headstrong infant, it shunned the globe. The prevailing sentiment from the world is now, ‘you broke EVERYTHING you touched, now deal with it!’ (full story) human rights / international
