A swing of 7% against the government in the Gippsland by-election sends a clear and strong message to non-event PM, Kevin ‘bereft’ Rudd. The average swing against an incumbent government is around 4%; not only have the people kicked Rudd where it hurts but it is looks like Rudd will be kicked right out of the Lodge before or after his first term -- a very dubious distinction for a Labor leader. Everyone except Rudd and his imbecile media advisers see the writing on the lavatory wall.
