The Price of Complacency posted by cleaves, 2007-04-09 14:01:09
The price of inaction in the face of criminal government is about to be extracted; the cost will be borne by ALL. Would the point finally be driven home if the irrefutable, clearest indicator of psychopathology in government were to be demonstrated to the whole world? The manic and ruthless determination by Washington neocons to pursue an inherently sociopathic plan for world domination (PNAC) now threatens to open Pandora’s NUCLEAR box. Once open every nation would have been given license by the USA to utilise any weapon it chooses – perhaps that is the wish of doctrinaire neocons who subscribe to the permanent war philosophy? The near future should confirm whether Israeli training exercises and U.S. intelligence gathering materialises into a nuclear attack on Iran. (full story)

deja vu Cultural Inversions and Criminal Leadership posted by finch, 2007-04-05 15:13:22
Imagine coalition leaders recoiling in horror at the prospect of facing the truth that it is they who are the most criminally liable and culpable terrorists in the world today! Former Secretary General of the UN, Kofi Annan, stated that in order to effectively combat terrorism a universal definition of ‘terrorism’ would be imperative. A ratified definition would eliminate politically motivated, arbitrary definitions made by various groups/States for the principal purpose of serving their own interests. In the absence of a universal definition the legal system and International criminal courts are ‘hamstrung’ or worse, subject to manipulation by powerful (criminal) interests. (full story)

Malcolm Turnbull Manipulating the Oz Masses posted by nano, 2007-04-01 10:23:09
It’s confirmed, total panic grips Howard government over Hicks scandal! The novice Environment Minister, Malcolm Turnbull, has weighed in on the Hicks debate with a wild accusation inferring that Hicks was “.. seeking to destroy our civilisation.” -- what next? Turnbull's statement follows hot on the heels of the stratospheric logic (see link) displayed by the Federal Treasurer in his effort to save the government -- who's next? (full story and 1 comments)

David Hicks receives Sentence posted by dingo, 2007-03-30 10:49:10
Notice the use of language -- Australian news radio (12 noon) today broadcast that “convicted terrorist, David Hicks, receives nine month sentence...” – shame on ABC news radio, one can only wonder whether the choice of wording reflected the fundamentalist conservative, evangelical christian values of the Howard-loving producer, who will remain nameless in this report. Unlike American loving evangelical christians, most Australians accept “convictions” as a result of fair trials and due legal process NOT sordid kangaroo court 'determinations'. Donald Rumsfeld American Justice: Hicks Tortured, Rumsfeld Exonerated! posted by Kingfisher, 2007-03-28 12:14:37
The now infamous Donald Rumsfeld has avoided legal responsibility for the extremely controversial ruling he made in December 2002, which effectively allowed the U.S. military to utilise torture methods against their perceived or imagined enemies. An American court ruled that Rumsfeld had no case to answer due principally to the fact that as Secretary of Defence he was IMMUNE from the charges! One Law for you and another for me! If the public ever wondered why Bush, Blair and Howard appear unconcerned over the prospect of war crimes charges, perhaps the Rumsfeld decision sheds some light on the matter. (full story)

John Howard faces his most difficult election Howard blunders badly over Hicks Case posted by nano, 2007-03-27 12:14:51
John Howard, the servile Australian prime minister has probably ended his tenure in office over his blind, sycophantic support of the flagrantly illegal proceedings against the Australian citizen, David Hicks. Howard’s extraordinary support of a foreign power at the cost of his own nation and its values is a political blunder from which it is almost impossible to recover. The very widely known facts of the Kangaroo military proceedings against Hicks speak for themselves. Any nation that legalises torture, flouts the Geneva convention and International law; attacks civil liberties and human rights; denies habeas corpus; admits hearsay ‘evidence’ obtained under duress and torture has no legal or moral claim on the concept of justice whatsoever. The entire world (with the exception of John Howard) is cognisant of that fact! (full story)

Hicks suffered the Camp X-Ray torture centre -- now closed Aussie Torture Victim pleads ‘Guilty’ posted by finch, 2007-03-26 12:14:00
In circumstances that could only be described as ‘railroading’ and coercive, the Aussie battler, David Hicks has pleaded guilty to one count of providing material support to terrorists. Few Australians, including leading legal advocates accept the ‘trial’ of Hicks as legally legitimate. The flagrantly rogue court convened under the most biased and unfair conditions also disqualified Hicks’ civilian lawyers at the last minute. Hicks’ (now) disqualified lawyers accused the presiding judge, Lieutenant Colonel Ralph Kohlmann of making up the rules as he went along – there is nothing new in the ‘legal’ proceedings at Guantanamo Bay! Slogans are Not Solutions posted by nano, 2007-03-20 22:48:02
In a recent speech delivered to a defence ‘think-tank’, the Australian Prime Minister John Howard displayed his total contempt for the Australian public and his audience by once again avoiding the real issues of the Iraq occupation. Howard refused to acknowledge the absolute fiasco and civilian death toll that he and fellow coalition leaders, Blair and Bush are directly responsible for. Rather than face the issues of a criminal invasion, subsequent oil plunder and a horrendous civilian death toll, Howard, in step with his American masters, echoed the same refrain as Bush. Howard asked that we forget four long years of absolute disaster and mismanagement and grant more time to the occupiers to essentially wreak more havoc on a nation that only wishes for the removal of all foreign troops from its soil. Early photo, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed arrested The Fragility of Power posted by peptide, 2007-03-14 13:34:39
Surely a little nudge does not warrant such an over-reaction from the panic-stricken U.S. administration. One of the last ‘cards’ in the neo-con deck has been played, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, conveniently held in reserve for future political emergencies, has confessed to everything from 9/11, to stealing my son’s push bike. Panic reigns in conservative park! Whatever happened to Bin Laden? The extreme measure of producing a victim of classic torture/brainwashing in a futile attempt to save the day for conservatives around the world, from Bush to the Howard government of Australia, is bound to fail. Independent experts in various fields could easily determine whether or not the subject is in a fit psychological state and whether any confessions should be taken seriously. Nevertheless, conservative leaders everywhere were quick to try and capitalise on this exceedingly transparent event. (full story and 2 comments)

Hugo Chavez Bush, ‘political cadaver’ -- It’s all but (over) posted by nano, 2007-03-10 09:29:51
There is something politically odd about Bush’s tour of various Latin American countries. South American nations were ‘lost’ to the U.S. some time ago – the price paid for America’s fixation on the Middle East. Bush is loathed internationally but is particularly despised in Latin America. The Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez accurately called Bush a “political cadaver” and led 20,000 Argentinian supporters in the chant, “gringo go home”, during his counter-tour of the region. Blair, Bush and Howard Gung-ho Politics posted by dingo, 2007-03-08 09:40:54
Are we able to remain in denial or is reality about to rub our noses in the horrid mess WE have created since allowing Bush, Blair and Howard to lie to the world and commit their respective populations to an illegal, pre-emptive war, or have we overlooked the real prize, the golden opportunity? The age of mass murder with impunity has dawned, what harm our minor exploits in comparison? The ‘new’ (neo) values of conservatism are undeniably the self-serving impulses of a violent pig at a trough. After centuries of social development and evolution the world stands witness to the re-introduction of barbarism. America and its coalition of willing criminals have returned the world to the ethics of a Swine – gung fuckin’ ho! Gimme, gimme, gimme, me, me, me and screw you – brother's keeper, you must be joking! (full story and 1 comments)

Reinado slips through cordon Timor-Leste: Bungle in the Jungle posted by barra, 2007-03-04 21:22:15
Prior to the leadership of John Howard and his defence minister, Brendan (studs) Nelson, the Australian Defence Force always did Australia proud. The reputation of the ADF preceded them in any theatre of war. Aussie soldiers were once considered highly specialised and skilled fighters, so it is with a heavy heart and bitter disappointment that I report the raid on Alfredo Reinado’s hideout FAILED to accomplish its objective. The raid, however, resulted in the needless deaths of four Timorese and a ‘rebel leader’ who easily escaped to the mountains. No one is actually sure Reinado was even present at the time of the attack! Another (Fiji) miserable failure under the watch of Howard and 'studs' Nelson. The very dishonourable John Howard Hicks, Howard and Rogue USA posted by nano, 2007-03-02 06:20:35
Anyone familiar with the criminal tactics of thoroughly corrupt State Institutions would not be surprised to learn of the plea bargain offered Guantanamo Bay detainee, David Hicks. After five years of torture and various other forms of physical and psychological abuse, the U.S. has offered a deal that would see Hicks released from Guantanamo but not necessarily from continued incarceration. Antiquated 'solutions': Howard and Cheney Desperation Politics posted by major mitchell, 2007-02-24 10:43:50
A picture is worth considerably more than a thousand words; the picture below depicts two very old and ossified conservatives unable to adequately deal with a rapidly changing New World. Antiquated and redundant divisionist ideologies have failed dramatically in today’s world – Iraq is the obvious example. (full story and 2 comments)

Police outnumber protesters Preparing for Cheney posted by finch, 2007-02-21 09:05:56
See how Australian conservatives run! “No Australian should be surprised. In fact I would like to think they would support it ... The people who murdered 100 Australians in Bali trained in this place with these people and that's why we're there." The statement by the Australian Defence Minister, Brendan Nelson, is the latest despicable attempt to garner support and justify increased Australian military involvement in Afghanistan – the truth is the Howard government is at the beck and call of the Americans, that is why ‘we’ are in Afghanistan, Mr. Nelson. The Defence Minister, in preparation for Dick Cheney’s arrival in Sydney tonight, has resorted to flagrant LIES and K-Mart political tactics to demonstrate to Cheney that Australian conservatives are able emulators of their master’s cheap tricks and lying political methods.
