The Law is an Ass, by Philip Ruddock posted by budgie, 2006-09-08 11:42:22 The Attorney General of Australia, Philip Ruddock, announced today that broader ranges of people in the community (including non-Muslims) are to be targeted as “terrorists!” Ruddock also stated that persons who are not ‘terrorists’ need not be alarmed as his new wider classification should not concern ‘them’(?)
In view of today's announcement, Ruddock is now obliged by Law to define what he imagines constitutes a (non-Muslim) "terrorist". It is well known by legal advocates around the globe that a clear and comprehensive definition of "terrorism" would label the Bush, Blair, Olmert and Howard regimes as terrorist! The onus is now on that Nazi buffoon Ruddock, to account for the vagaries in his 'determinations'. The Attorney General risks being branded a paranoid and delusory idiot if he fails to clarify his previous statements. At present he remains the focus of scorn, ridicule and a source of public entertainment. Do your best Mr. Attorney (imbecile) General! (full story and 1 comments) injustice/law / national
If not Now, when? posted by finch, 2006-09-01 10:48:01 Surely it is time to restore intelligent, sane, Democratic secular government throughout the world! Over the past eight years we have all had a taste of the simplistic binary ‘us or them’ logic of religionists; the reality is that the majority of people on the planet reject religious divisionism and the associated violent ‘solutions’ of criminals, liars, demented murderers and delusional fools. Tea Party at the Hague posted by budgie, 2006-08-21 04:22:36 Is the Hague court a joke or have we just lost our sense of perspective? The latest indiscriminate slaughter of children and innocent civilians in Lebanon by ‘God’s chosen’ seems not to warrant the attention of the Hague court. Carla Del Ponte’s latest remonstration against the Serbian leadership for not delivering war criminals to her court seems ‘slightly’ dissociative in view of recent events. Her obsession with Serbs now borders on the pathological. Would the civilian death toll in Iraq warrant her attention? Iraq now approaches one hundred thousand innocent civilian deaths – eighty percent directly attributable to the forces of occupation! (full story and 1 comments) injustice/law / international
The Losers War: Lebanon posted by finch, 2006-08-17 16:13:56 FAILURE is emblazoned on the foreheads of all those involved; the VICTORY of the day is for PEACE and there is nothing any power, state, or group could do to prevent the (future) peaceful intentions of the people. Human civilisation and the blood of innocents demand it! (full story and 1 comments) peace/war / international
Discourse and Social Reality posted by salamander, 2006-08-03 14:07:50 The major communication mediums of the world continue to bombard the public with images and descriptions of the Israeli-Lebanon conflict. The media works tirelessly to deliver our social consciousness. Today’s mass media maintains its status as the principal means of creating and sustaining social realities. The internet-based ‘independents’ lack real independent front-line resources and continue to rely on the mainstream for most of their information (much to their chagrin). The Qana Massacre And The Risks Of Relying On Israeli Propaganda posted by Minerva's Owl, 2006-08-01 23:50:08 Relying on Israeli propaganda can often lead to embarrassment, as CNN's Paula Zahn recently discovered. Read on to find out how she was used by the Israeli Defense Force. (full story and 1 comments) imperialism / international
Masked Face of “V” posted by Anne Coulter, 2006-08-01 10:02:57 Whether or not the Wachowski Brothers ‘succeeded’ with their latest movie, “V”, is not on issue. It nevertheless deserves a cursory analysis; a half-hearted attempt at film production deserves only a half-considered response/critique. (full story and 5 comments) miscellaneous / international
War Crime: Preposterous! posted by finch, 2006-07-30 10:18:36 Indirectly confirmed by John Bolton, U.S. Ambassador to the UN (and sociopath) in a public statement; the first casualty of war is LANGUAGE – the needless slaughter of innocent children in Qana by an Israeli airstrike was an “accident of war!” In the face of an obvious war crime it is now incumbent on the Bush regime, especially its representatives Bolton and Rice, to define the rules of engagement and what constitutes a war crime. We do not forget how quick the U.S. and NATO were to condemn war crimes in the Balkan conflict – it would seem that allies of the U.S. (Israel) are immune; their obvious crimes become tragic ‘accidents’ whereas those opposed to the U.S. are war criminals and liable to indefinite incarceration (‘Torture’ Bay) or trial in an ‘independent’ court at the Hague. Peace is Earned -- Not Bestowed posted by cleaves, 2006-07-28 07:30:22 The people are once again faced with a very real opportunity to act and change the status quo. The USA has abandoned its traditional 'act' of peacekeeper in the Middle East. Two clear prerogatives present themselves in the face of ongoing hostilities, a people’s movement or another nation filling the vacuum left by the U.S. (which has tragically become an involved party in the conflict). How many times must the opportunity for Peace go begging? (full story) peace/war / international
Slow Motion Diplomacy: Rice and Matza Balls posted by peptide, 2006-07-21 10:43:05 Condoleezza Rice (finally) announced that she would visit the war torn Middle East in the near future – let’s not rush to the assistance of innocent civilians and perhaps even prevent a humanitarian disaster! Rice also dismissed any hope of brokering an immediate cease-fire. She added that negotiating a cease-fire would be counter-productive at present! The international community has noted America’s lethargy and unwillingness to act in the present circumstances. The world is aware however that Israel would not have pursued its present hostile course without prior consent from Washington; Rice’s inaction and firm dismissal of any hope of a brokered cease-fire spells very clearly the relationship between Washington and Tel Aviv. Shifting Values and the New Barbarism posted by finn, 2006-07-19 15:55:38 The attention of the world has once again been drawn to the Middle East, to a group of warring tribes. Today however, we witness a ‘new’ warfare, a type promoted by the Zionists Richard Perle and Paul Wolfowitz. This new warfare is a composite ‘solution’, an amalgam of the permanent revolution/war doctrine of Lev Bronstein (Trotsky); the tactics of Henry Kissinger (carpet bomber of three million innocent Indo-Chinese civilians) and Leo Strauss, whose exclusivist/elitist philosophy lies behind the events of 9/11, the anthrax letters and the rise of ‘terrorism’ – the new public enemy designed to replace the defunct bogeyman of communism! Order of The Day posted by gan, 2006-07-15 08:24:15 Gone are the days of a fair fight and a ‘just’ war – whatever that insane expression is supposed to mean – today we have the actions of the ‘might is right’ ideology of barbarism. This ‘new’ primitivism is evident in the actions of Zionist Israel and the Zionist influenced USA. Today’s wars are the most inglorious wars in human history. How proud we should be of our achievements when we allow idiotic differences and greed to escalate into bloodshed. What a ‘noble’ race of ‘civilised’ humans we are! View this planet as a visitor and be thoroughly appalled. (full story) social/political / international

Cultural Debasement: Collective Identity and Capitalism posted by Chris Murray, 2006-07-11 09:08:41 The Irish State has passed, since 2002 a raft of legislations that are anti-citizen and anti-community. This has resulted in community and ecological activists taking a frontline defence aginst the incursion of capitalism. The issue for us as a community now is protection and stewarding our environment or bowing to what has been exposed as a form of cultural debasement wherein the state and elitists have attempted to divorce community from their heritage that is rich with stories, ideas and poetry. No where is this more obvious than in the ongoing battle to save the Tara-Skyrne Valley from destruction. (full story and 1 comments) social/political / international
The Weevil and the Prick posted by finn, 2006-07-09 18:23:09 The impatient Australian treasurer Peter (supercilious prick) Costello has finally done it; he has openly exposed the Australian Prime Minister as a bald-faced LIAR. Costello did however attempt to take the high moral ground by stating he would never have made certain comments if others hadn’t done so first, his comments were to set the “record straight”, he said. Costello confirmed that a deal existed to turn the Leadership/Prime Ministership over to him after Howard served one and one half terms in office. Costello’s statement bluntly contradicts the statement of the Prime Minister who is on record as stating that neither he nor the treasurer had entered into any deal regarding a hand over of power. [Déjà vu, Bob and Paul – there is no intoxication like the intoxication of power!] (full story) social/political / national
