Bush continued to spout tattered ideological crusade arguments of a world wide Islamic terrorist threat in a pathetic effort to camouflage the REALITY of AMERICAN OIL PLUNDER and U.S. MILITARY EXPANSIONISM in the Middle East. A State responsible for over 2 million civilian deaths in Indo-China (indiscriminate carpet bombing) and over 1 million civilian deaths in Iraq recently declared that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard should be designated a terrorist organisation! It seems the higher you go in American politics the less brainpower is required to make decisions. The Gulf of Tonkin ‘incident,’ the USS Liberty attack of the 6 day war, the WMD Iraq deceptions and the latest absurd government explanations (garble) we are asked to swallow regarding the destruction of WTC buildings and the anthrax letters makes Alice in Wonderland the epitome of rational thought and logic. Each time I lecture abroad on the Middle East, there is always someone in the audience – just one – whom I call the "raver". Apologies here to all the men and women who come to my talks with bright and pertinent questions – often quite humbling ones for me as a journalist – and which show that they understand the Middle East tragedy a lot better than the journalists who report it. But the "raver" is real. He has turned up in corporeal form in Stockholm and in Oxford, in Sao Paulo and in Yerevan, in Cairo, in Los Angeles and, in female form, in Barcelona. How many times must criminals in government BE EXPOSED before they ARE EXPOSED? That is the question today. Inept, deceptive and criminal conservative governments from Bush to Howard have been exposed for criminal activities and incompetence so many times this writer has lost count yet not one senior official has been jailed! Executive and legislative powers in the hands of criminals subvert every aspect of honest government. From the Libby presidential pardon in the US to the scapegoating of Haneef in Oz, governments reek of total corruption and abuse of power. Australian justice prevails against racist Howard government and lackey immigration minister, Kevin Andrews. The retrogressive Howard government has been given a clear and firm message from the Australian people via the Legal system. Howard has done more to damage Oz’s good name in the international arena than any Australian Prime Minister in modern history. Howard and his contractive, backward looking, divisive policies have unnecessarily compromised all Australians who travel and serve their nation overseas. Perhaps the most effective healing gesture for the nation would be to completely remove all vestiges of Howard’s presence from the political landscape; the forthcoming elections provide the perfect opportunity for all Australians to clearly state their opposition to regressive, inward-looking, contractive conservatism. It’s a long way from home, Uncle; the advantage and strength always lies with the locals (SCO group) and the Sino-Russian military alliance. This is THEIR region and as would be expected any attempts by foreign forces to invade will be resisted to the death – who would not fight foreign invaders from the other side of the world that would threaten home, family and prosperity? On Friday, the Dow Jone’s clawed its way back from a 200 point deficit to a mere 31 point loss after the Federal Reserve injected $38 billion into the banking system. The Fed had already pumped $24 billion into the system a day earlier after the Dow plummeted 387 points. That brings the Fed’s total commitment to a whopping $62 billion. (full story and 1 comments)

American contractionism is pursuing (totalitarianism) surveillance and the reduction of liberties and freedoms at speed. Here in Oz the minister for communications is attempting to implement information controls in the form of filtering Internet material at backbone or ISP level. Regardless of the area of ‘concern’ ALL conservatives SEEK TO GAIN CONTROL and impose their realities onto everyone! The means vary from theocratic coercion, legal subversions to brutal enforcement and violent implementations, whether the rest of us like it or not. Twenty-four hours after I reported China’s announcement that China, not the Federal Reserve, controls US interest rates by its decision to purchase, hold, or dump US Treasury bonds, the news of the announcement appeared in sanitized and unthreatening form in a few US news sources.
The Washington Post found an economics professor at the University of Wisconsin to provide reassurances that it was “not really a credible threat” that China would intervene in currency or bond markets in any way that could hurt the dollar’s value or raise US interest rates, because China would hurt its own pocketbook by such actions.
