Government propaganda ministry biggest advertiser in UK! posted by quill, 2009-01-04 01:11:03 Now there’s a revealing little morsel (see insert), but not a complete surprise as it matches proportional increases in advertising spending by the Australian and other Western governments – the propaganda expenditure in the USA, the nation with the most to hide and disguise, cannot be assessed as the figure is astronomical! Donald Rumsfeld, as Secretary of Defence, couldn’t account for $2.3 TRILLION, which ‘somehow’ disappeared in his Department, what hope then for accurate figures from thousands of agencies servicing various governments across the USA? Obama and a status quo we can believe in! posted by nano, 2009-01-03 00:30:26 Sit back, relax and we’ll do it for you – why not exploit existing conditioning? It would not be an oversimplification to state that Obama won a presidential campaign based on two words and one second-hand slogan, ‘Change,’ ‘Hope’ and ‘Yes we can!’ In any other nation people would have demanded generous helpings of DETAIL served with their ambiguities, but not in lobotomised America, a land where a good slogan can take you to the top. The American people have once again paid the price for investing meaning where none previously existed – it’s an old (tired) advertising TRICK that continues to work on gullible, ill-educated populations! Failure to heed lessons from recent past spells doom for Obama posted by budgie, 2008-12-30 20:17:38 The 44th Presidency promises to be a watershed in American history but not for the reasons hoped for by vested and other interests – it is over gentlemen! Obama has already been accurately assessed by the people as a betrayer, turncoat, house slave and lackey. (full story) social/political / international
Keeping it simple – so Americans understand! posted by nano, 2008-12-27 22:22:42 Contributors and editors have decided to apply the KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) principle to the majority of future posts. It became apparent over time that many people find even pedestrian English difficult to comprehend – no prizes! We have also decided to use language in an offensive manner (both meanings apply) as Evangelicals, space cadets and other assorted losers, run in horror when confronted with colourful words like ‘FUCK’ etc; these ‘mental lepers’ cringe when they encounter the 'SHIT' word -- preferring to use the ridiculous and infantile ‘poo’ instead! We should not forget that these are the same people that do not hesitate to install AND SUPPORT known morons, con-men and mass murderers as their Presidents and leaders. Alternative Xmas message to “the constant drivel of Pope and Queen” posted by quill, 2008-12-25 22:39:42 Britain’s Channel 4 has broadcast a bold and controversial Christmas message from one of the world’s most notorious characters, the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad; however, unlike his American and Israeli counterparts the Iranian President has not yet attained the status of mass murderer! Perhaps Channel 4 is giving the world a lesson in HYPOCRISY! (full story and 2 comments) social/political / editorial
Update: Internet Censorship Trials in Oz posted by Kismo, 2008-12-23 22:38:00 Communications Minister, Stephen ‘errand boy’ Conroy -- who couldn’t make an accurate decision to save his life -- is the latest Oz politician to adopt feeble American semantic tricks in order to dupe an unwary public. Conroy released new information, at the eleventh hour, that he intends to include filters for P2P and Torrent applications, which are primarily used to download movie and music files! Before our Eyes; baa’aa, mooo! posted by nano, 2008-12-23 01:06:11 Yep, we are now getting it served up for breakfast on a daily basis! Did you think there was something slightly amiss when the Bush administration described TORTURE/waterboarding as “enhanced interrogation,” for Pete’s sake! Or how about describing invasion, plunder and mass murder as spreading “liberty, democracy and freedom,” for fuck’s sake? There are now hundreds of such linguistic travesties littering our culture thanks to the criminals, rogues and MURDERERS WE ALLOWED to occupy positions of influence and power. Is this ‘Hope?’ posted by finch, 2008-12-20 20:49:12 Obama’s reaction to ONGOING Wall St. fraud and insider Bankster secrecy falls EXTREMELY short of the expectations of REFORM that HE created during HIS fraudulent election campaign!
Confronting the latest outrageous example ($50b) of ongoing CRIMINAL FRAUD from yet another ROBBER BARON, Bernard Madoff, Obama revealed his feebleness, weakness and reticence; the best he could offer in full view of the largest fraud in American/world history was, regulators "fell asleep at the switch" and “dropped the ball” – for Pete’s sake – more ambiguous, meaningless metaphors, reminiscent of the linguistic chicanery of the outgoing administration. The people are not amused! (full story and 3 comments) social/political / international
Kevin Rudd risks becoming the toilet paper PM of world history posted by Kingfisher, 2008-12-19 00:00:41 As the US makes plans to close its infamous, excised detention centre, Guantanamo ‘torture’ Bay; Australia opens its newly built, high tech, excised detention/torture centre on ‘Christmas’ Island -- just in time for Christmas! We should all note that Rudd pretends, among myriad other posturings, to be a Christian! WHO ARE YOU TRYING TO KID, RUDD, you reprehensible, performing worm? Tell it to the banjo-playing yanks! Business as usual [Rabbit hole 'CHANGE' you can blow out your arse!'] posted by Kris Alingod via reed, 2008-12-18 20:34:59 Cheney Praises Obama's National Security Team [A most revealing stamp of approval, don't YOU think, Jethro?]
Washington, D.C. (AHN) - Reflecting on his eight years in office in his first interview since the elections, Vice President Dick Cheney praised President-elect Barack Obama's national security team but defended the Bush administration's anti-terror policies, including its use of waterboarding and its decision to invade Iraq, which he said would've still taken place even if intelligence had been accurate. Setting agendas and stealing debates .. posted by budgie, 2008-12-16 01:31:29 is an art form in which, it seems, few excel, nevertheless it remains ‘the principal, most important’ (I’m practicing American grammar) tool of modern, GLOBAL politics. The reasons are obvious; in a world of instant communications the ‘battle for the dominant discourse’ or rather for the attention/focus of the moronic masses is paramount – the future VIABILITY of Barack Obama is being compromised as I write due to the WORLD focusing on his GLARING DISREGARD of the war and other crimes against humanity committed by the outgoing administration! Reality aversion and rabbit hole logic posted by nano, 2008-12-14 08:51:23 As the U.S. population labours under a mountain of misapprehensions and disinformation regarding the activities of its murdering, criminal government and the mayhem it has created at home and abroad, financial and other ruling cabals are orchestrating a bid for total global financial power – believe it! But rather than confront hard reality and PARTICIPATE in maintaining a healthy democracy – by demanding full accountability of all persons in positions of trust and responsibility -- what do the people do; drown in torrents of propaganda, lies, spin and Murdoch ‘news?’ Americans continue to labour under the false apprehension that turncoat Obama represents “change we can believe in!” (full story and 4 comments) social/political / international
Rudd displays real Aussie ‘backbone’ while in Indonesia posted by barra, 2008-12-11 21:57:23 None of us imagined in our wildest imaginings that anyone could beat the record of cowardice and servility set by former PM, John ‘rodent’ Howard. However, Kevin ‘custard face’ Rudd, has recently CONFIRMED that he is indeed the most spineless leader Oz has ever known! Our Kevin has set a new benchmark of servility and dog-cowering cowardice, which unfortunately stains ALL Australians everywhere; do us proud Kevin, Oink! The semiotic ‘burning bush!’ posted by quill, 2008-12-08 18:34:33 In response to authorities shooting dead a (15yo) youth in Athens, Greek anarchists made their sentiments known to the nation via DIRECT ACTION. Demonstrations included setting a large, (capitalist) Xmas tree alight! [At times signs and symbols converge to deliver a wealth of meaning; no further elaboration required; the flaming tree says it all!] (full story) social/political / international
Obama may become first invalid U.S. President posted by Tim Jones via quill, 2008-12-08 06:22:11 Five weeks after the State of Hawaii vouched for the authenticity of President-elect Barack Obama's birth certificate, the controversy over allegations that Obama is not eligible to take office next month has reached the Supreme Court, which is expected to announce Monday whether it will consider the matter.
