Rejected youths internalising abuse Australia’s unforgivable crime: homeless and rejected youth posted by budgie, 2008-04-07 21:29:55
It need not be emphasised that a society’s most precious resource is its next generation. In affluent societies disproportionate increases in youth homelessness is unforgivable and represents the most reprehensible failure of government social policy. (full story)

.. yes Sir, three bags full .. Australian kiss-arse politics posted by barra, 2008-04-04 17:50:11
If anyone harboured any doubts regarding Australia’s CONTINUING role as sycophantic, servile, cringing, lackey to America, doubt no more. Rudd confirmed ‘our’ position at the recent NATO summit with a subservient salute to his commander, George W Bush. It was tragic and amusing to see pipsqueak Rudd, clearly out of his depth in Europe, chasing the bully of the class for comfort! (full story)

Kevin Rudd -- the pretend PM The ‘Claytons’ Prime Minister posted by Kingfisher, 2008-03-31 21:04:28
Kevin Rudd, the leader you have when you do not have a real leader, has left the country to prance and posture on the world stage. Rudd is a man of impressions NOT actions, a media performer, a petty bureaucrat, expert in the ‘art’ of looking busy! All bureaucrats learn early in their careers how to ‘fake it’ and delegate the job to another. However, Rudd is less than expert in the art of political deception, his electoral PROMISE of Australian troop withdrawal from Iraq is a good test of his integrity and performance! (full story)

The Imperative Revolution posted by nano, 2008-03-30 22:12:54
The ‘us and them’ approach of social leadership is tired, very tired! It’s an old, divisionist rhetoric; one that is proving less appealing with each new unnecessary war people are forced to confront! There must be a better way and there is! Need I spell out the obvious? (full story and 1 comments)

Bush facing resistance in NATO expansion goals posted by Associated Press via rialator, 2008-03-30 07:11:37
"I think this NATO summit is basically the 'Goodbye George' summit," said Daniel Hamilton, Director of the Center for Transatlantic Relations at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies. "A lot of the energy is looking beyond the administration." (full story)

Rudd and Bush -- leading puppets The Failure of Nations posted by peptide, 2008-03-29 20:36:48
Democracy is majority rule via elected REPRESENTATION. Democracy only exists in societies where people are able to make INFORMED decisions. What then of societies where governments intentionally obfuscate, withhold information or brazenly LIE to their populations? Clearly whatever these social systems claim to be, they are NOT democracies! (full story)

Tibetan monk Tibetan monks (hypocrites) redefine Buddhist pacifism posted by nano, 2008-03-28 19:52:08
In a purely Buddhist sense there are no others, pluralisms, life-death or binaries of any kind; hence there is no need to fight as there is no one to fight and nothing to fight against! What the world is currently witnessing in Tibet is pure unadulterated religious hypocrisy – Buddhist robes and shaven heads do not a Buddhist make! That should now be obvious to even the most dim-witted Hollywood film stars and western space cadets! (full story)

U.S. visit to Pakistan shows 'panic' posted by Saeed Shah via rialator, 2008-03-28 08:36:25
ISLAMABAD — The visit to Pakistan of top U.S. officials this week was supposed to cement ties with the country's incoming government. Instead, it ended up roiling local sensitivities and inadvertently showing up key policy differences. (full story)

Tibet: tactical destabilisation posted by nano, 2008-03-20 00:36:33
In 1999 the UN Security Council was ignored and America embarked, with its NATO allies, on an illegal bombing campaign of Yugoslavia. That illegal but supremely successful strategy was designed to fragment one nation into numerous powerless states, gain a foothold in the Balkans and establish a permanent presence with the view to securing energy supplies/infrastructure/corridors. The plan sought to override International law and convention, diminish the role of the UN in international affairs and directly challenge Russia and China, as both nations were firm allies of Yugoslavia and perceived to be enemies of the West. Fraud: who, me? Inverted realities and illogic as warfare posted by pixie, 2008-03-19 00:19:59
Events this week highlight the madness that currently grips the international community. Many instances of Orwellian ‘double speak’ could be culled from the inane propaganda disseminated by US/NATO forces during their illegal bombing of former Yugoslavia in 1999. Add to that the nonsensical (mad) drivel that has issued from the mouths of American leaders in relation to Iraq and Iran over the past five years and the fictional absurdities (Mad Hatter's tea party) of some English novelists begin to look tame. But events this week pushed the envelope of incredulity to levels that even the most dim-witted, inbred, American rustic would find difficult to bear! (full story)

Super Hornet -- super disgrace! posted by barra, 2008-03-17 20:47:52
The only minister in the present Australian Labor government who displayed any integrity or spine has backflipped on the purchase of the Super Hornet jet fighters from America – what a thorough travesty and disgusting reversal! It is a matter of public record that the Super Hornet is inferior to the Jet Fighters purchased by Indonesia from the Russians -- at considerably less cost I would add. (full story and 1 comments)

Germany and Israel form new alliance posted by quin, 2008-03-15 08:51:10
Fresh from its very active role in the destruction of Yugoslavia and its involvement with rebel forces in the Serbian province of Kosovo, Germany now pipes a very familiar tune in the Middle East. In what appears to be a very odd historical twist, fascist Germany now pledges allegiance to Nazi Israel – but is anyone really surprised? (full story and 1 comments)

Living my own private Fascism posted by dada, 2008-03-14 23:18:19
Caught myself roaming the conservative side of my personality one afternoon – confronting the effects of rigorous toilet training is fascinating! The strangest thoughts began to overwhelm me but they were somehow alluring, intoxicating in a distinctively pathological way, so I let them flow – can YOU hear the sound of one jackboot marching? 'Acceptable' collateral damage Squinting at the Sun posted by gan, 2008-03-14 20:11:19
The efforts of America and its allies to demonise people and nations that assert their sovereignty and rights are often foiled by poignant reminders of reality. Truth jolts us back into stark reality and forces us to face our collective humanity. (full story)
