Obama A bullet for Obama posted by finch, 2008-01-05 20:09:57
Who would have thought the dark horse democrat would capture the hearts and minds of so many with his slick speeches and smooth delivery – a good dose of charisma hasn’t gone to waste on him either. However, the plutocrats are murmuring; their anointed has been usurped by the people’s choice – a certain foreboding now hangs over Obama as he continues to gain in the race to the Presidency. Consider what the rabid right once did to a white Catholic democrat President and his brother. Who imagines they have changed after witnessing their handiwork with Bush and the neo-cons? (full story)

Paris Hilton Domestic collateral damage posted by nano, 2008-01-05 08:40:22
People are unravelling at an alarming rate today. Millions are succumbing to the pressures of western, affluent society. Something critically important to human well being is definitely missing from the capitalist formula. Almost the entire population is suffering from stress/anxiety related complaints. Did we destroy numerous indigenous cultures for this? Is our ‘advanced/superior’ culture a LIE or rather is it a sociological DISEASE that is killing the planet? It is clear that nintendo and plasma TV do not happiness make! CONSUMERISM BENEFITS ONLY THE FEW IT SEEMS! (full story)

Kevin Rudd: they see him here, there, NOWHERE! posted by major mitchell, 2008-01-04 09:22:39
Who is the leader you have when you don’t have a leader, why Kevin Rudd, of course? Remember how that little Queensland bureaucrat ‘caved’ and back-stepped on every tiny issue he imagined would lose him a vote prior to the elections? True to ‘character,’ excuse me, that little shit has NO character! 'True to form’ Rudd has caved on the promise to monitor the Japanese whale slaughter in the Southern Oceans. (full story)

Totalitarian uniformity is good China set to displace all nations as sole superpower posted by Kingfisher, 2008-01-03 11:47:50
The inevitability of China’s rapid ascension to the position of leading superpower is creating dread in traditional western centres of power – but it's the west that has been beaten at its own game. (full story)

Saddam defeats Bush from grave posted by yarra, 2008-01-01 08:14:47
What to do with a living president defeated by a dead dictator?

I will never forget the rallying call Saddam made prior to his arranged execution; his final command to the nation was to fight a classic guerrilla war of attrition and draw the American elephant into a quagmire where it could EASILY be DEFEATED. He promised victory if the people persevered and he was right. However, Saddam’s ranting was more a manifestation of bravado and personal rage than directives to a people that hated his guts! Rudd Labor Government Communications Minister Conroy opts for Orwellian option posted by jack, 2007-12-30 13:42:29
If nothing else Senator Conroy’s decision to take the matter out of the hands of users and filter internet content at provider (ISP) level confirms that both major political parties are subject to the same ruling interests. After vigorous opposition from the public the previous conservative government chose to offer filtering software for users to install at their discretion – the FREEDOM to CHOOSE is the crux of the matter! Brendan Nelson Put them all up against a wall … posted by major mitchell, 2007-12-30 08:51:57
Every housewife knows the principle of the purchase ie, buy the best item for the best price. However, this fundamental principle is lost on Australian conservatives in desperate need of an authority figure. The need for paternalistic authority in conservatives outweighs common sense. Brendan ‘studs’ Nelson, short-lived leader of the opposition and previous Australian Defence Minister, made the most gullible and totally inappropriate military hardware purchase (from daddy America) in living memory – probably in the nation’s short history if the historical record is taken into account -- well done ‘studs,’ you conservative, lackey, clown! David Hicks and ‘Freedom’ posted by col, 2007-12-29 07:58:55
David Hicks walked ‘free’ from Yatala high security prison yesterday but freedom is a very ambiguous term and an extremely elusive state. Hicks is discovering, after his release, that prison walls are not necessarily physical. After suffering five years of the most insidious, horrendous, psychological and physical TORTURE at the Guantanamo Bay torture facility, David Hicks could in no way be described as ‘free.’ He will carry the scars left by Guantanamo for the rest of his life – psychologically Hicks remains incarcerated. However, he need not remain a mental cripple, many have survived torture to live and ‘fight’ again. (full story and 1 comments)

Jack Kennedy Bhutto assassination update! posted by gill, 2007-12-28 08:48:41
Pakistan’s interior ministry is in frantic damage control in the wake of Benazir Bhutto's assassination. In a futile attempt to extinguish the flames of rebellion, the interior ministry today claimed that Benazir Bhutto died as a result of bumping her head on the roof of the vehicle in which she was travelling. They also claimed that no bullet or shrapnel wounds were found on her body! ‘No doubt,’ and I had breakfast with John F Kennedy -- he was shot with a bullet that could turn corners! Pervez alive, Benazir dead! Goodbye to both Benazir Bhutto killed: what price a human life? posted by gan, 2007-12-27 05:42:28
Benazir Bhutto shot and killed while campaigning in Rawalpindi yesterday!

Inadequate security measures at a campaign rally allowed an assassin to discharge five shots at Bhutto one of which penetrated her neck killing her. After discharging his weapon the suicide gunman detonated a bomb-belt killing himself and at least ten people in close proximity. (full story and 2 comments)

‘Taliban:’ term of convenience posted by cleaves, 2007-12-26 10:22:37
The American led western (NATO) criminal alliance is crumbling -- as criminal empires often do! A report on BBC radio finally stated an open fact to the people. A fact that NATO/US and even insignificant Australia have known for some time; a military ‘victory’ in Afghanistan is “impossible!” (full story)

Reversed Asymmetry posted by dave, 2007-12-24 21:48:14
The sheeple are incapable of lucid thought so it’s necessary to drive the point home with simple and repetitive slogans and news items – ‘just an ol’ fashioned love song’ from a burnt-out ad man, but bear with it for a while. (full story)

Linguistic somersaults indicate extremely sick U.S. Economy posted by Kingfisher, 2007-12-24 10:58:58
Previous articles have drawn attention to linguistic tricks stock markets employ to deceive the public. On a specified day “selling” became ‘profit taking,’ a highly inaccurate and misleading term as selling incurs both profit and loss – but don’t alarm (sheeple) investors for Christ’s sake! Today’s sub-prime, circular credit markets have taken a very dangerous linguistic turn toward even greater DENIAL, which is symptomatic of the disease not the cure. The latest divorced from reality market expression saturating the mass media is, “write-down,” which actually means LOSS! The following headline from Marketwatch is typical: (full story)

George Orwell Christmas double-speak for the masses posted by budgie, 2007-12-23 21:29:26
Let’s start with a couple of whoppers so the moronic masses are able to comprehend. First we have the former Yugoslavia and the show trial of its leader Slobodan Milosevic – now deceased. I’m sure we remember the Hague war crimes tribunal and accusations that Milosevic was responsible for thousands of civilian deaths. This was to be NATO’s and America’s justification for reducing a single nation to a number of fractured, tiny, POWERLESS ‘states,’ which have since been subsumed by Western Europe – that wasn’t the plan, was it?
