The time it takes a falling nation to disintegrate posted by gan, 2007-12-20 21:15:40
The amount of money America splashes around in aid, grants, loans, bribes and expenditure is astronomical. All things being unequal, America is spending what it does not have; the result of course is a dollar that plummets when other nations decide they cannot afford to maintain their dollar reserves. The drunken sailor economics of Bush and his fellow incompetents has already killed the American economy; the nation just hasn’t hit the ground yet! (full story)

Xmas Message posted by Team, 2007-12-20 08:08:42

WATER TORTURE: American DENIAL and PATHOLOGY posted by finch, 2007-12-19 08:52:35
Debate rages in the US over the torture policies of the Bush regime and its many other criminal activities. Nevertheless, the House of Reps recently approved $70 billion for continuing war expenditure, which CLEARLY INDICATES THAT AMERICANS support the Bush regime’s criminal activities. (full story)

The Murdoch media praises show pony, Kevin Rudd posted by nano, 2007-12-15 09:55:36
Rupert Murdoch’s show pony, Kevin Rudd, is the focus of foaming praise in the local mass media. One report described Rudd as almost walking on water and appearing taller than his actual diminutive height, another Murdoch rag described him as “shining” – give us a break! But ain’t it a shame Kevin ignored the issue of five murdered Australians; shirking the responsibility of bringing the Balibo murderers to justice is noted -- another 'fearless' leader in the Howard tradition! But our Kevin was made for prancing and the Bali summit afforded the perfect opportunity for Murdoch's new show pony to strut his stuff on the international stage. Our Kevin didn't disappoint, he proved to be a very well trained (Shetland) pony indeed -- his owners should be very pleased! (full story and 1 comments)

Not again! Going through the motions posted by dada, 2007-12-14 11:08:13
Why bother or fuss, the result of US elections is a forgone conclusion, it’s “back to the future” with the plutocrat’s choice, Murdoch anointed, Hillary Clinton! Does anyone really have any doubts? The status quo is safeguarded with a change of face. Hillary’s foreign policy is indistinguishable from the neo-con's. It’s a “Bilderberg” (by invitation only) world -- the name under which today’s plutocrats determine the destiny of their shaky world! (full story)

The Law of Inverse Proportions posted by budgie, 2007-12-11 21:54:42
The title refers to a sociological law, the crowd or mob mind; the larger the mob the lower the intelligence ratio until we get to national levels where the intelligence of a nation measured by its population is in the minuses. How demonstrably true especially in developed nations where literacy levels should indicate otherwise. In America, arguably the most developed western nation, the national IQ is clearly in the 100 unit minuses. (full story and 2 comments)

Oz Labor swings into ‘positive action’ posted by dingo, 2007-12-11 10:08:48
Labor has sent a clear message of gratitude to the Australian people for placing them in power. The first action of Labor was to lift bans on the production of GM crops in NSW and Victoria – thanks suckers! The overwhelming majority of Australian people are clearly against GM crops and GM foods entering our food chain but that ‘minor fact’ hasn’t deterred our ‘representative’ Labor governments! Parochial thinking Global Realities posted by finn, 2007-12-10 12:10:14
Most people would think it ‘only natural’ to be more concerned with issues that effect their personal social environment than with issues involved in a mutually effective global reality. However, parochial thinking in a global world is a recipe for disaster, as America and Israel have recently discovered. (full story)

Writers: unappreciated and taken for granted posted by nano, 2007-12-06 05:37:46
The writers strike in the US has brought an undervalued and unappreciated profession to the foreground of cultural consciousness. Writers are notoriously underpaid, yet what they produce in all sectors and mediums is indispensable and generates billions in wealth. Underpaid and unappreciated writers (in solidarity) are about to teach western society a lesson it may never forget. The pen is mightier than the bomb, stock market or anything else you care to mention. Writers will soon demonstrate the fact. (full story and 1 comments)

Bureaucrat and conservative dork, Kevin Rudd Australia: relegated to servility permanently posted by dingo, 2007-12-02 10:10:58
Who is the leader you have when you’re not having a leader, why Kevin Rudd of course! The Haneef case, Kevin, remember? The case YOU stated required a full investigation because the collusion between Howard, minister for Immigration Andrews, and senior public servant, dropkick Mick (have another drink) Keelty, was bloody obvious! The case REEKS Kevin and you know it, otherwise a timid little turd like you wouldn’t have mentioned the need for a full inquiry. Very big call from a timid Queensland bureaucrat! Well, we are waiting for ACTION, Kevin! (full story and 4 comments)

Vladimir Putin Vladimir Putin: “The world's most popular leader”? posted by Mike Whitney via rialator, 2007-12-01 07:57:33
On Sunday, Russians will vote in their country's parliamentary elections. The results are a foregone conclusion. Putin's party, United Russia, is expected to win in a landslide. The only question is whether the margin of victory will exceed 70%. If it does, then Putin will continue to be the most powerful player in Russian politics even after he steps down from office next year. (full story)

‘Cocaine' Economics: a rude awakening posted by peptide, 2007-11-30 14:02:01
The pinnacle of absolute denial has been reached, I refer initially to the notion that Reserve Banks are able to actively intervene and restore today’s delinquent stock markets. Laissez-faire capitalism has come of age, but we do not see a well-groomed, successful, balanced ‘mature adult’ free market, we see instead a spoilt infant crying out for daddy government to bail it out of trouble; an infant incapable of accepting the responsibility for its self-centred and self-serving behaviour. Clinton -- Ordained by God/Murdoch Plutocrat selects new President of the USA posted by finch, 2007-11-30 07:55:07
Understand the not so subtle subtleties of plutocracy. After installing Kevin ‘lunch in New York’ Rudd as the new Prime Minister of Australia, Rupert Murdoch has sent a clear signal to his media minion's by supporting Hillary Clinton with an overt contribution for her campaign in the race for the presidency – message received loud and clear, Rupert! In other words it’s all but over for other contenders as Murdoch’s media machine adjusts to the wishes of its owner. (full story)

'New' PM, Kevin Rudd Actions speak loudest posted by budgie, 2007-11-29 11:38:00
‘Things must change so that they can stay the same’ or ‘a change of leaders is the joy of fools.’ These two political statements are dynamically brought to the foreground when a change of national leadership occurs. In Australia all eyes are on the new leader, Kevin Rudd, and we sincerely hope the above cynical adages do not accurately portray him as just another face behind which the real rulers continue to machinate.
