Scientific Study Confirms Corporatists Run the World posted by Andy Coghlan and Debora MacKenzie via gan, 2011-10-21 08:11:37 AS protests against financial power sweep the world this week, science may have confirmed the protesters' worst fears. An analysis of the relationships between 43,000 transnational corporations has identified a relatively small group of companies, mainly banks, with disproportionate power over the global economy. Gaddafi Reported Murdered by CIA backed Rebel Forces posted by judd, 2011-10-20 08:28:19 Mixed reports of Col. Gaddafi's capture/death are coming from confused, disparate rebel forces in Libya; however, it is improbably that the US/NATO would allow a captured Gaddafi to stand trial as the experience with Saddam proved compromising and counter-productive. We can all safely assume that reports of Gaddafi's death are accurate, as it was only a matter of time before the might of the US/NATO criminal alliance prevailed over a most wily and irritating African foe. American invasion of all Africa under way -- China and Russia look on in Dismay posted by John 'better late than never' Pilger via quin, 2011-10-19 21:42:22 On 14 October, President Barack Obama announced he was sending United States special forces troops to Uganda to join the civil war there. In the next few months, US combat troops will be sent to South Sudan, Congo and Central African Republic. They will only “engage” for “self-defence”, says Obama, satirically. With Libya secured, an American invasion of the African continent is under way. (full story) imperialism / international
Global Resource Wars: US vs China posted by darcy, 2011-10-18 22:49:04 While the Corporate media DISTRACTS with non-issue news like the DO-NOTHING ‘Occupy’ spectacle, some correspondents are covering REAL news stories; I am referring to the American confrontation with China and the neo-colonial US push for African resources in nations where China has billions already invested -- America/NATO has recently demonstrated in Libya it respects no Chinese claims, investments or established business arrangements, regardless of all the lies and false promises given to Beijing. Solution to the Impending Banking Crisis posted by tyco, 2011-10-17 23:29:37 Wake up, the banks are broke, INSOLVENT and ready to fall hard. First Europe then the US, Asia and the rest -- the global Reserve Banking System has FAILED. [In reality the Reserve Banking Cartel created the crisis via its financial (non-productive) profiteering and FRAUD. It bled the global coffers dry and now it (very temporarily) sustains itself on printing toilet paper money -- LUDICROUS! (full story and 2 comments) imperialism / international
Ongoing GLOBAL Economic Crisis -- Unpayable debt and insolvency in Europe posted by Bob Chapman via stan, 2011-10-15 09:42:06 The big question is will Greece succumb to insolvency in November? Our answer is probably not. It should take 3 to 6 months but it is coming no matter how much money and credit is thrown at the problem. The markets on the short-term basis believe it is a coin toss. If the funds are not forthcoming you could see a 60-80 percent haircut on bond losses. If it is 3 to 6 months it will probably be 100%. Many in Europe believe the Merkel-Sarkozy team has a plan that will work, but as yet we do not know what that plan is. In spite of that the euro this past week rallied from $1.32 to $1.38 as the US dollar fell lower. (full story) imperialism / international
Afghanistan: 10 Years of NATO Genocide and War Crimes posted by reed, 2011-10-08 10:37:42 The illegal war and occupation of Afghanistan recently marked its 10 anniversary; yet the core reasons offered by western elites for the invasion and continuing occupation today have no foundation in reality. Indeed, the FBI has never listed Bin Laden as wanted for the 9/11 attacks; nevertheless, Afghanistan was criminally invaded for the benefit of Oil Companies and Banking elites. The Money Masters: Behind the Global Debt Crisis posted by Adrian Salbuchi via stan, 2011-09-26 09:57:03 In the US, we see untold millions suffering from the impact of mass foreclosures and unemployment; in Greece, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, and Italy, stringent austerity measures are imposed upon the whole population; all coupled with major banking collapses in Iceland, the UK and the US, and indecent bail-outs of “too-big-to-fail” bankers (Newspeak for too powerful to fail). Economic Collapse and the Dollar Crisis posted by Bob Chapman via sal, 2011-09-24 09:28:42 It is no secret that the Fed, Bank of England, Bank of Japan and the Swiss national Banks are going to provide dollars to European banks that are the victims of American lenders who have pulled their funds out of Europe for fear of losing their investments. They are phasing out an orderly fashion. The commitments of these central banks are doing three things putting their citizens at more financial risk; driving inflation higher; aiding in the increase in gold prices and following a path they already know is doomed to failure. The players did not want a replay of the Lehman Affair of just three years ago, or the ongoing immediate consequences. (full story) imperialism / international
US economy, cot case! posted by Brendan Conway via stan, 2011-09-22 14:13:27 NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Investors staged a global flight from risk Thursday that sent U.S. stocks plummeting and 10-year Treasury yields to 1940s levels, after a gloomy outlook by the Federal Reserve renewed fears of a global economic slowdown. Convoys leaving Libya have fuelled speculation on Gaddafi deal with Rebels posted by Martin Fletcher via stele, 2011-09-07 10:38:28 Reports emerged yesterday of convoys of vehicles heading south across the border. The reports gave rise to feverish speculation that Colonel Gaddafi and perhaps his sons had finally abandoned the land for which they had vowed to die fighting. NATO's criminal attack on Libya is new strategic push to the South posted by Andrew Rettman via gan, 2011-09-05 09:08:37 You can trust NATO and the US like you can trust a Cobra.
People are apt to forget that the West went to great pains to befriend Gaddafi after previous US attacks and attempts on his life. Western forces offered many incentives, mutual co-operation and 'friendship' in order to ensure that Gaddafi dismantled his WMD programs. (full story and 1 comments) imperialism / international
Civil War Erupts On Wall Street posted by David DeGraw via judd, 2011-09-03 23:47:02 Finally, after trillions in fraudulent activity, trillions in bailouts, trillions in printed money, billions in political bribing and billions in bonuses, the criminal cartel members on Wall Street are beginning to get what they deserve. As the Eurozone is coming apart at the seams and as the US economy grinds to a halt, the financial elite are starting to turn on each other. The lawsuits are piling up fast. Russia Recognises LIbyan Rebels as Legitimate Representatives posted by Steven Erlanger via uri, 2011-09-01 02:28:13 The CFR controlled New York Times is running a story on the carve up of Libya, in the subtext of course. Readers will note words and expressions, like, "consolidate," "reconstruction" and "aid" -- naturally, after terrorist NATO illegally bombed/destroyed a VIABLE SOVEREIGN NATION, killing thousands of innocents in the process! What those words really signify is dividing up the spoils with criminally corrupt and complicit nations INCLUDING RUSSIA, you gutless, unprincipled dog, Putin! Visit Australia, if you have the balls -- for that opportunity I would break my cover, but be assured, you wouldn't be around to enjoy the proceedings.
