It’ll break every star-spangled heart to learn the truth, the overwhelming majority of people hate/detest/loathe America WITH A VENGEANCE! That’s not news you say, we already know! No you don’t! It is far worse than any American could imagine. Certain government leaders and nations appear to temporarily befriend the U.S. for very self-interested reasons but their populations detest America as does nearly every other human being on the planet! When you are taking a pounding and your whole strategy goes up in smoke it becomes imperative to feed the home front some ‘good news’ (lies) – we wouldn’t want to appear as incompetent losers, would we?
For US/NATO occupation forces it’s ALL bad news at the moment and has been so for quite some time! So, in the absence of REAL good news just manufacture some! However, for lies to appear credible they must at least conform to known truths and realities. (full story and 1 comments)

The USA is broke – that’s the truth, almost all the money and energy resources of the world are in ASIA, Africa and the Middle East, respectively. That is why Bush is running around the world attempting to gain support. The USA is out of the picture in more ways than one. Eight years of misguided (deplorable) foreign policy and military aggression have lost it the little support it once had. The future for the US is almost cast in stone – FAILURE at every turn! The last area of US superiority is the military and history dictates that ALL would-be empire nations that attempted to force the issue were destroyed by other less powerful but united in purpose nations! In an unexpected strategic twist – opinion favoured an offensive during an attack on Iran -- local forces and militias throughout the Middle East and Central Asia are mobilising for a simultaneous and concerted offensive against the American invader/occupier! A coordinated, simultaneous offensive of this type would smash the hold America has on a number of nations in the region. America simply does not have the human resources to respond to such a coordinated offensive. Nor would America’s few allies be willing to fight illegal wars of occupation on America’s behalf! First we went after nonexistent nuclear weapons in Iraq; now we are consumed with the possibility that Iran might develop nuclear weapons in the future. Hillary Clinton declared she would obliterate Iran if it launched a nuclear strike on Israel -- nothwithstanding it LACKS that capability! But what nobody wants to talk about is the fact that Israel has had a secret nuclear weapons program for more than 30 years and has produced well over 200 nuclear bombs! (full story)

Earlier this year I reported on a retired American high school teacher who hadn’t heard of Richard Perle, a highly influential neo-conservative responsible for much of the trouble in which America now finds itself. Imagine that level of ignorance and you will have little difficulty understanding how demented 'senior' Republicans like John McCain are able to garner support for their race for the Presidency. Social and political ignorance is endemic in the USA. The schoolteacher was not the exception but the rule! (full story)

Gough Whitlam wished to make Australia a nation in its own right but the Americans would have no one -- including the democratically elected Prime Minister – disturbing their plans and causing trouble in their new post WWII colony.

Judging from the campaign rhetoric coming out of both camps, whoever wins the Oval Office will be inclined to continue the failed military policies in Iraq and to pursue a confrontation with Iran. Apparently it does not matter to either party what will follow those actions, or what these disastrous policies have produced as they played-out in Iraq and Afghanistan. It does not matter who gets elected, whether it is "bomb, bomb Iran" McCain, or "obliterate/massive retaliation" Clinton, nothing will change. (full story)
