We have been (erroneously) taught by science that the ability to use tools defines humans as distinct from the beasts of the field – a typically conservative scientific view! However, in its arrogance science has failed to do its research, it is now known that some birds and lower primates utilise objects as tools. Confined by its self-imposed empirical prison science has failed to see the ‘nose on its human face.’ What actually distinguishes man from the beasts (and blockhead empiricists) is ART! Most Americans continue to prefer denial to the incriminating reality of one million dead civilians (John Hopkins study) and a failed intervention in Iraq. However, reality poses no problems for winners, the competition is purring along as America, paralysed by its own fear and timidity, continues to pursue incompetent government and the consequences that pursuit entails. Howard has done more to damage Oz’s good name in the international arena than any Australian Prime Minister in modern history. Howard and his contractive, backward looking, divisive policies have unnecessarily compromised all Australians who travel and serve their nation overseas. Here in Oz the minister for communications is attempting to implement information controls in the form of filtering Internet material at backbone or ISP level. Regardless of the area of ‘concern’ ALL conservatives SEEK TO GAIN CONTROL and impose their realities onto everyone! The means vary from theocratic coercion, legal subversions to brutal enforcement and violent implementations, whether the rest of us like it or not. ‘Whatever goes around comes around’ or the Pauline, ‘God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that will he reap’. The one positive aspect of long term Presidents and Prime Ministers is they usually catch what they have thrown and in that sense Bush is catching a huge amount of shit mixed with blood. Even a cretin like Bush is able to understand where the neo-cons have taken him, to the halls of the world’s most infamous and inept political leaders. A self-respecting Japanese leader would have committed suicide by now but the world knows an American coward and moron when it sees one, and what a tragic and pathetic sight it makes! (full story)

Failure to address this vital fact will always result in a failed mass movement or failed social ‘management’ strategies. Recent history has noted neo-conservative strategies formulated around the above axiom. To effect social change the masses require a stimuli/event to exceed the boundary of their comfort zone.
