‘Taliban:’ term of convenience posted by cleaves, 2007-12-26 10:22:37 The American led western (NATO) criminal alliance is crumbling -- as criminal empires often do! A report on BBC radio finally stated an open fact to the people. A fact that NATO/US and even insignificant Australia have known for some time; a military ‘victory’ in Afghanistan is “impossible!” (full story) social/political / international
Rebel groups and double standards highlight lawless world posted by dingo, 2007-12-25 09:05:00 Incessantly accusing Bush and his neo-cons of war crimes is clearly counter-productive. He has been comprehensively exposed for the WMD fraud and numerous other crimes. His actions have resulted in a human holocaust -- over one million innocent lives lost in Iraq yet international authorities and the public could care less. OUR complacency and INACTION give license to Bush and his ilk to pursue their crimes with vigour; it's open slather on just about everything – and don’t they, the powers, know it! Linguistic somersaults indicate extremely sick U.S. Economy posted by Kingfisher, 2007-12-24 10:58:58 Previous articles have drawn attention to linguistic tricks stock markets employ to deceive the public. On a specified day “selling” became ‘profit taking,’ a highly inaccurate and misleading term as selling incurs both profit and loss – but don’t alarm (sheeple) investors for Christ’s sake! Today’s sub-prime, circular credit markets have taken a very dangerous linguistic turn toward even greater DENIAL, which is symptomatic of the disease not the cure. The latest divorced from reality market expression saturating the mass media is, “write-down,” which actually means LOSS! The following headline from Marketwatch is typical: (full story) social/political / international
The Burden of Guilt: Tony Blair converts to Catholicism posted by barra, 2007-12-23 10:40:32 Murderers carry an exceedingly heavy burden, how much greater the burden for mass murderers? Whether or not Blair’s conversion is the result of a pressing need to relieve the pain of his inner torment or is related to other factors – his wife is a devout RC – the guilt factor is difficult to dismiss. Rice: wishful thinking or divorced from reality? posted by cveta, 2007-12-21 10:16:40 A report by David Gollust of VOA makes extraordinary reading given the current situation in Kosovo. Surely not even the rabid Condi Rice would make such emphatic and unrealistic statements as “Serbia and Kosovo will never be part of the same country again, and all those concerned should work for a stable outcome in the Balkans based on that reality.” Professional politicians never say never, Condi, nor do they dictate “reality” in situations where they only have a tenuous toehold, as is the case with America in the Balkans. The ‘toe’ to which I refer is the precariously situated military base, Bondsteel. (full story and 1 comments) peace/war / international
WATER TORTURE: American DENIAL and PATHOLOGY posted by finch, 2007-12-19 08:52:35 Debate rages in the US over the torture policies of the Bush regime and its many other criminal activities. Nevertheless, the House of Reps recently approved $70 billion for continuing war expenditure, which CLEARLY INDICATES THAT AMERICANS support the Bush regime’s criminal activities. Naxalites stage bold jailbreak in central India posted by naxal, 2007-12-16 21:14:45 Over 100 Naxalite rebels and a mix of 200 supporters and general prison population staged a daring jailbreak in Chhattisgarh, central India, yesterday. Naxalite leader Sujit Kumar ‘overpowered’ a guard during mealtime, grabbed his weapon and opened fire on two other guards to secure his freedom and liberate his comrades. Murdoch press: whole lotta ‘shining’ goin’ on posted by budgie, 2007-12-16 09:27:14 A sure indicator of second rate journalism is plagiarism, ‘line dancing,’ (following someone else’s lead) and repetitive headline expressions. In the past 24 hours a substantial amount of “shining” has emanated from the Murdoch stable of second rate journos, drunks, face-slapping slags and sycophants – time for a serious staff review Rupert, your Oz contingent is unravelling! The Murdoch media praises show pony, Kevin Rudd posted by nano, 2007-12-15 09:55:36 Rupert Murdoch’s show pony, Kevin Rudd, is the focus of foaming praise in the local mass media. One report described Rudd as almost walking on water and appearing taller than his actual diminutive height, another Murdoch rag described him as “shining” – give us a break! But ain’t it a shame Kevin ignored the issue of five murdered Australians; shirking the responsibility of bringing the Balibo murderers to justice is noted -- another 'fearless' leader in the Howard tradition! But our Kevin was made for prancing and the Bali summit afforded the perfect opportunity for Murdoch's new show pony to strut his stuff on the international stage. Our Kevin didn't disappoint, he proved to be a very well trained (Shetland) pony indeed -- his owners should be very pleased! (full story and 1 comments) social/political / international
Going through the motions posted by dada, 2007-12-14 11:08:13 Why bother or fuss, the result of US elections is a forgone conclusion, it’s “back to the future” with the plutocrat’s choice, Murdoch anointed, Hillary Clinton! Does anyone really have any doubts? The status quo is safeguarded with a change of face. Hillary’s foreign policy is indistinguishable from the neo-con's. It’s a “Bilderberg” (by invitation only) world -- the name under which today’s plutocrats determine the destiny of their shaky world! (full story) social/political / international
Oz Labor swings into ‘positive action’ posted by dingo, 2007-12-11 10:08:48 Labor has sent a clear message of gratitude to the Australian people for placing them in power. The first action of Labor was to lift bans on the production of GM crops in NSW and Victoria – thanks suckers! The overwhelming majority of Australian people are clearly against GM crops and GM foods entering our food chain but that ‘minor fact’ hasn’t deterred our ‘representative’ Labor governments! America determined to destroy heart and soul of Serbia posted by mirko, 2007-12-08 08:39:21 Prior to the present ‘deliberations and discussions’ regarding Kosovo, we should not forget that Bush and his war whore, Rice, stated emphatically that independence for the tiny province was “certain.” Moronic and inept as such comments are they are nevertheless revealing. Serbia need have no illusions as to who it is that wishes to obliterate it from Europe and the world. Not content with the destruction of greater Yugoslavia, America pursues Serbia with a mania characteristic of psychopaths. Perhaps it is an unconscious measure of respect for Serbs and perhaps America is right to be afraid! (full story) peace/war / international
Russia sends naval battle group to Mediterranean posted by nano, 2007-12-07 21:56:13 China assumes the quiet background role of observer while Russia conducts naval exercises in a show of strength and in support of allies in the region. It seems that one thieving military grab for oil in the region (Iraq) is all the free world will tolerate from America. (full story) peace/war / international
Germany seeks to completely ban Scientology posted by finch, 2007-12-07 11:17:28 A move in the right direction some would say but why stop at sci-fi 'religion,' Scientology – the Abrahamic three – Judaism, Islam and Christianity -- pose a greater threat to world peace. Scientology, a product of the mind of sci-fi writer and con-man, L. Ron Hubbard, seeks to relieve its followers of their hard-earned money while the Abrahamic three seek to facilitate the millennium i.e. a global holocaust! On a danger to society scale Scientology does not ‘hold a candle’ to the murderous Abrahamic three. (full story) theology / international
Journalistic fools feast at media trough posted by peptide, 2007-12-06 21:17:06 Has it occurred to anyone that recent media releases of (destroyed) CIA tapes and intelligence reports contradicting Bush and Cheney rhetoric on Iran have no real value other than to create sensationalist stories and media feeding frenzies? Easily led and distracted journalists feed on these releases as do sharks in a feeding frenzy – much to the delight of Whitehouse PR and press staff! One can almost hear the contemptuous and scornful remarks of Whitehouse consultants, ‘that’ll keep ‘em entertained and busy while we push on with the plan!’ (full story) mass media / international
