Obama’s [Wall Street's] Unconvincing Case on Libya

How long does it take 'Progressives' in the USA to get it?
Wall Street fails to make case via puppet President Obama for the Libyan intervention. Performer/Liar Obama did not address the issue of his war making powers during his belated speech to the nation on the Libyan military intervention [because he does what he's told]. He also failed to distinguish between Libya and other cases of urgent humanitarian need, such as Syria, Yemen and Bahrain. And he didn’t adequately address the question of 'overextending' the military, or face the crying social needs on the home front.
President Integrity and Sincerity
Instead, he stressed (according to the script) the humanitarian justification for the action, using the word “massacre” four times and oddly echoing George W. Bush and Condoleezza Rice’s phraseology about a “mushroom cloud.” [But we fell for it, didn't we?]
The previous Bush regime said they couldn’t wait for the “smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud,” Obama says he refuses “to wait for images of slaughter and mass graves before taking action." So, in true Orwellian fashion, we must kill civilians in order to save civilians; while maintaining our clear focus on the PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF APPROPRIATING LIBYA'S OIL.
Like Bush, Obama spun a justification for preemptive war [while waging war!], a dangerous doctrine which the executive is able to invoke any time it wishes -- thanks to the paralysed people of the USA allowing it!
Nor did Obama forswear his predecessor’s unilateralism.
“I [Corporatists] will never hesitate to use the military swiftly, decisively, and unilaterally when plundering the resources of weaker nations and defending core Corporate interests,” Obama said.
Oil Transnationals used the military so swiftly they didn’t bother to seek approval from the bought members of Congress or justify the action under the Constitution.
On top of defending “Corporate PROFITS and core mercantile interests,” Obama added future projections for intervention, “when our safety is not directly threatened, but our interests, PROFITS are!”
Though by “interests” here he must mean something less than “core interests,” which were in his primary list. In this secondary list, he lumped everything in from “preventing genocide” to “ensuring regional security” and “maintaining the flow of huge wealth to privileged elites.” [Obama CONFIRMS, in PLAIN english, that America is ruled by Corporatists!]
If the Corporate controlled Pentagon is going to go on bombing raids every time the flow of profits is threatened, then we can expect perpetual war, just as Cheney promised!
Obama tried to fob off the obligations such a doctrine imposes by amending JFK’s “pay any price,” “bear any burden,” rhetoric. It’s not the United States that will do all the paying and bearing, our puppet allies are going to have to “bear their share of the burden and pay their share of the costs, because we demand it,” Obama said.
The fact remains that the expansive perpetual war doctrine will be enormously costly and will (soon) result in the complete demise of the United States.
Our government always has money for war -- which the Fed prints like toilet paper on demand -- but there is never enough money for universal health care or for eradicating poverty or for ensuring full employment!
And when Obama said, in the midst of running three wars, that “we are naturally reluctant to use force to solve the world’s many challenges,” he must have been out of his mind.
