Rude Awakening
quin, Thursday, Dec 18 2008, 9:43am
It was inevitable; the dream has ended and hard reality is pressing mercilessly on all our dissociated perceptions of our leaders, the world and ourselves. (story and 2 comments)

Practical textual/cultural analysis: some secrets revealed
peptide, Wednesday, Dec 17 2008, 1:03am
Back at the academy we were given a broad range of material from various cultures to analyse. This material included comics, magazines (from technical, through to fashion and homemaker), political and military reports, movies, religious texts and other published material common to a particular culture. We were then asked to analyse the material and assess the current state, direction, weaknesses and strengths of that culture. (story and 2 images)

Reality aversion and rabbit hole logic
nano, Sunday, Dec 14 2008, 8:51am
As the U.S. population labours under a mountain of misapprehensions and disinformation regarding the activities of its murdering, criminal government and the mayhem it has created at home and abroad, financial and other ruling cabals are orchestrating a bid for total global financial power – believe it! But rather than confront hard reality and PARTICIPATE in maintaining a healthy democracy – by demanding full accountability of all persons in positions of trust and responsibility -- what do the people do; drown in torrents of propaganda, lies, spin and Murdoch ‘news?’ Americans continue to labour under the false apprehension that turncoat Obama represents “change we can believe in!” (story and 4 comments and 2 images)

The SLAUGHTER of INNOCENTS and the rise of Terror
gan, Friday, Nov 28 2008, 10:28pm
The Clinton presidency, which is directly responsible for the fragmentation of the Balkans, destabilising African nations -- especially Somalia, Sudan, Congo, Rwanda -- and imposing the now infamous child-killing embargos on pre-invasion Iraq, paved a course for the next (neocon) administration to follow; which it did but with even greater zeal and disregard for international law and convention than the Clinton administration. The Stillborn Presidency
budgie, Thursday, Nov 20 2008, 10:21pm
The world is about to witness a political first – a stillborn presidency! Obama, by selling out on almost every promise and ‘position’ he had taken prior to revealing his marionette status, has earned the wrath of the people. (story and 1 comment and 2 images)

The test of INTEGRITY -- Obama as President
finch, Tuesday, Nov 4 2008, 11:11pm
I wish I could remember the exact phrase the ‘excited’ radio announcer, Steve Chase, used to introduce his audience to the Obama victory speech in Chicago.
To the (background) sound of the roaring crowd, applauding, cheering, whistling and screaming -- as mindless as any crowd the Roman Colosseum would have contained – the announcer exclaimed, “can you hear that; the sound of rapturous supporters; let’s all absorb the atmosphere?” With that Obama began one of the most mediocre victory speeches I have ever heard -- and I’ve heard a few! Double whammy for future US President
Kwang zi, Monday, Nov 3 2008, 11:27pm
The ‘winner’ of the US elections will BECOME the 44th president of the USA. This number has great significance throughout all Asia -- home to enduring civilizations that possess ancient wisdom and knowledge. [Knowledge that was also known and revered in the West (ancient Greece) until pure mathematics displaced an important element of numeric ‘language.’] international /

Irresponsible currency printing certain to annihilate greenback
nano, Saturday, Oct 25 2008, 1:37am
The REAL value of the greenback is not reflected in the currency markets at present. The international community continues to support US toilet paper money only for fear of additional economic disruption; nevertheless, they will soon be forced to dump their worthless currency reserves lest they too be caught ‘short footed’ as some well-known banks that failed to dump their toxic credit ‘products’ have demonstrated! The Disease and the Cure – a practical strategy
Ed., Wednesday, Oct 22 2008, 8:18am
The articles that follow were written two and three years ago respectively; the first has proven to be an extremely accurate analysis and forecast; the second provides a simple but highly effective strategy for empowering the public and demonstrating that the most effective force for restoring social and economic balance/harmony is the people.
The people are lions raised as sheep; in times of crisis little effort is required to awaken and release the innate power of the masses. Historically, the people have always restored social equity and equilibrium. Robber barons, bankers and corporate racketeers beware! international /

Criminals at the top: It’s high time for accountability
finn, Tuesday, Oct 21 2008, 1:44am
In view of recent socio-economic and political history the title hardly requires elaboration. Nevertheless, prior to stating the obvious I would recount an experience from my student years.
During the course of a lively tutorial debate, someone stated, ‘it’s obvious’ – and ‘it’ was! However, the rigours of uni demanded proof, supporting evidence and references. I will never forget the response from the astute but unorthodox student; “to prove the ‘sky is blue’ is difficult, as it requires the challenger/sceptic to undertake certain actions to satisfy the challenge of ‘furnishing’ proof. In this instance I would simply ask the sceptic to lift his chin and take a good bloody look out the window at the blue sky!” The point being the onus is shared! (story and 1 comment)

The Disease and the Cure
Kingfisher, Thursday, Oct 16 2008, 12:52am
The first signs of alarm and panic from filthy rich elites have begun to reach the public via the mass media – how such material slipped through editorial vetting is not known but what is known is that Rupert and his fellow media moguls are not happy. (story and 5 comments and 1 image)

Market mayhem: that Old Black Magic ‘bailout’
yarra, Monday, Oct 6 2008, 8:21pm
The world’s leading, independent economists all stated it wouldn’t and couldn’t work -- what, the sheeple bleat? The very fast-tracked Paulson ‘bailout’ (for his fat cat mates!) But what of the poor sheeple screwed by rogues so perfectly? You were warned, COMPLACENCY comes at a PRICE, baa’aa! (story and 1 image)

US Congress rejects flawed bailout: think outside the 'box!'
nano, Tuesday, Sep 30 2008, 12:52am
To say the market was surprised by the House’s rejection of the ‘bailout’ proposal on Monday would be putting it mildly; however, BIG Finance and BIG Banking were NOT surprised one bit! Even more surprising was the fact that Republicans (GOP) were largely responsible for the rejection of the Bill! You know them, ‘God is the free market!’ One could become a cynic overnight faced with such inversions and ideological backflips; however, a careful approach and focused eye reveals much. From Slaves to Fighters
gan, Saturday, Sep 27 2008, 2:31am
Globalisation is not new it has been practised by European and Muslim Imperial powers for centuries. The African slave trade is perhaps the earliest example of economic globalisation. This dastardly trade was characterised by a number of separate nations and cultures cooperating to supply a valuable ‘resource’ around the globe – human beings commodified as SLAVE labour! I would emphasise that Christian and Muslim powers COOPERATED to enslave tribal Africans. (story and 2 images)

Nigerian rebels attack JUGULAR OF ENEMY!
nano, Wednesday, Sep 17 2008, 11:12pm
This is not a story on a fake terrorism war that targets nothing of strategic value – such as Bin Laden’s war of convenience. The reader will note Bush’s ‘Islamic terrorists’ only target symbolic not REAL (high value) targets -- after all, the forces behind the ‘long war’ do not wish their profits to be disrupted or to lose anything of REAL value! Drone warfare
Kingfisher, Saturday, Sep 13 2008, 11:19am
I was raised in a world where killing innocent women and children was considered the most heinous of crimes. Why are such acts tolerated today? Hundreds of thousands of children have died as a direct result of US policies and military interventions. However, it appears that in this ‘brave new world’ of Bush, Cheney and mindless ‘Paris Hiltons’ it is acceptable to kill women and children and suffer no serious consequences! Obama’s ‘rhetorical flourishes’ cannot compensate for his LACK of INTEGRITY
barra, Friday, Aug 29 2008, 12:11am
The sideshow that is the American race for the presidency is characterised by one-liners, slogans and as the BBC so accurately put it -- especially in Obama’s case -- an abundance of meaningless persuasive expressions or “RHETORICAL FLOURISHES!” The description couldn’t be more accurate with Obama in his ‘flight’ for the presidency. However, people around the globe are not as stupid as the American masses. American tactics and strategies are transparent outside the USA! (story and 1 comment and 1 image)

Ask any American to define democracy!
yarrow, Thursday, Aug 28 2008, 4:33am
[The most amenable slave is one who thinks he is free; never before have so many surrendered their rights to so few.]
Propaganda minister Rupert Murdoch has thrown his media empire into overdrive in a vain attempt to alter historical fact. It was Georgian forces that invaded South Ossetia and targeted civilians; Russia responded to the attack and chased the US equipped, Israeli trained Georgian troops back into their holes! However, American media would have you believe that Russia is the aggressor. Perhaps next week they will dust off Bin Laden and utilise him to some advantage – you never know with America in election mode. Osama always managed to make an appearance whenever George W Bush needed a boost – what are friends of the family for? (story and 1 image)

Laughing all the way to a ‘first NUCLEAR strike!’
gan, Sunday, Aug 24 2008, 3:02am
History records the circumstances and strategies that Franklin D Roosevelt utilised against Imperial Britain during WWII. How he delayed US military involvement in the war until Churchill, in desperation, signed the Atlantic Charter, which effectively ended the British Empire. Such was Churchill's desperation and FDR's determination to subvert Imperial Britain that Roosevelt at one stage seemed as though he would only supply military hardware to a very beleaguered Britain. Section 3 of the Charter reads:
“Third, they respect the right of all peoples to choose the form of government under which they will live; and they wish to see sovereign rights and self government restored to those who have been forcibly deprived of them;” [Bye bye British Empire -- nice one, Franklin!] (story and 2 comments and 1 image)
