Sometimes it pays to inform your opponent directly rather than leading him by the nose or allowing him to believe he actually thought of something rather than act on the very subtle cues you placed in his brain. Great idea, why didn’t I think of that? Doh!

My first trainer in cultural warfare was a fat, vodka-drinking, Russian who had successfully completed a 20 year assignment in the USA. His drinking never interfered with his ability to analyse or gather information. He was born for analysis; he determined that Saddam had no WMD long before the U.S. executive decided to illegally appropriate Iraq’s oil reserves -- approximately a decade before the invasion.

It wasn’t the flagrant illegality of the plan that worried my tutor, it was the apathy of the American public when confronted with one million civilian dead that puzzled him – yes, he was getting old! Who would have thought America could OPENLY MURDER with impunity -- one million innocent civilians in Iraq alone? But had he forgotten the three million during the illegal carpet bombing campaigns in Indo-China a few decades earlier -- courtesy of one, Henry Kissinger?

[Batman’s] Dark Knight opened the night before; Aussie actor Heath ‘heroin’ Ledger’s junked out performance stole the show – but drugs to enhance creativity is not new. Comic book blockbusters for ‘adults’ are! The audience demographic had shifted from comic book-reading teens to adults – at least in chronological terms! To be specific, my tutor should have detected the slow deterioration of the adult mind in America. The economy is in ruins, war has become normalised, criminals inhabit the highest offices in the land and the public line up in the streets to watch a fuckin Batman movie, for fuck’s sake! Who would expect such a DIVORCED FROM REALITY performance from any population?

Dark Knight has broken all previous new release sales records; interestingly, the previous record was held by another comic book character, Spiderman, for Pete’s sake! I am a yankee doodle lobotomy, tra la!

And Aussies thought Ledger was the junkie – the opiated, vacuous, American public beggars belief. Never have so many been comatose for so few!

The ‘house’ is falling down around America’s economic ears yet Batman is the headline grabber and Bush has not been held to account for even one of his many crimes!

The first casualty of war is language.
