Religion as Social Liability

"..religion is the politics of the mentally deficient.."

The recent religious furore over certain (cartoon) publications in the secular press unambiguously identifies ‘religion’ as little more than cheap politics; or put in simpler more accurate terms; religion is the politics of the mentally deficient. Consider the possibility of an infinite creator/God and the arrogance of those who actually think or imagine they or any other finite being could possibly pollute, insult or deface that God. A characteristic of Godhead is IMMUTABILITY! Rationalists would refer to the basic logic of the inability of the finite to apprehend the infinite (God); the two states are mutually exclusive. But it is obvious that ‘God’ is as far removed from the present issue as day is from night.

It becomes immediately evident that mainstream religion cannot transcend the culture that produced it. Religion and the ‘holy’ texts that support it are the productions of men; the ‘God/s’ to which all religions refer are therefore a fiction. The core text (Torah) of the Abrahamic religions describes not only a God with human characteristics, but characteristics which today are considered to be pathological. The core ‘God’ of Judaism, Islam and Christianity is a moody sociopath! The Deity portrayed is a composite of all the desirable and undesirable characteristics of humans. Is anyone really surprised? Man must necessarily superimpose his own characteristics onto his creations. Men write books not Gods.

Society has taken thousands of years to evolve and free itself from the irrational and superstitious; the separation of church and state or the religious and secular must be maintained in order for modern society to steer a SANE and peaceful course into the future. Theological intervention in the secular world of politics usually results in unstable societies and violent conflict. If religion continues to influence the State unchecked expect an increase in incompetent leaders (Bush) and an increase in the number of extremist organisations (Al Qaeda) – the end result would further destabilise society and promote intolerance over acceptance and integration.

Regardless of the number of deficients, morons and retards that subscribe to an irrational worldview it has become imperative that ALL religion be relegated to the primitive belief systems of men. Any attempt by any person or group to interfere with secular society must be met with a decisive and immediate positive response. All religions are perverse and breed violence, the historical record bears grim testimony of the atrocities committed in the name of religion.

The divisive and violent diatribes of clerics and theologians are symptomatic of mental disease; however, religious fundamentalism and extremism are considered to be curable diseases in today’s world. Social ‘spaces’ exist in secular society for the treatment of these pathological individuals. In the event that some prove to be resistant to benign therapies, surgical and chemical intervention may be indicated. Mental or physical disease ‘agents’ must never be allowed to compromise the overall health of any society.

Peace, Harmony and Love are innate human qualities, greet the violence and lies of theologians and clerics with your compassion, contact the appropriate medical authorities who have been trained to deal with these matters.

Religion equals divisionism and divisionism is death.

We are One.

Peace.

Endnote:
A Living Infinite (God) must necessarily saturate all existence; therefore the closest thing to your life must necessarily be that God – why would you seek outside yourself for something that you already possess (as your birthright)? Embrace that Life and reject the dead doctrines of men.
