An Eye for an Eye

It ails me to think
that the mindset of men
can only think
of revenge and war
Are we blind
do we not see
an eye for an eye
makes the world blind?

Can we not feel
the pain and distress
of the hundreds of thousands
of people slaughtered
murdered by greed
by oil hungry nations
under the guise of
democracy, freedom?

Peace is the way
why can it not be seen
lead our troops to give aid
not maim and kill
why do we punish
the people who live
in the oil nations
barrel price has nothing to do with them?

Turn the other cheek
offer a solution
not war, find a path to Peace
come on people, find your voice
take a stand, refuse to partake
in a genocide of hate
spread the word among yourselves
of resolution not revenge.
