The uninformed are rejoicing over the forced resignation of Paul (bouquet of flowers) Wolfowitz from the World (US) Bank; the resignation of Tony (45 minutes) Blair as British prime minister; the foregone demise of George (WMD, mission accomplished) Bush and the likely elimination of John (aluminium tubing) Howard as Australian prime minister. However, rejoicing may be premature as the gangrenous infection in the body of humanity has not been completely excised.
Oil Wars: Halliburton wins, you lose!
Notwithstanding the status of the above named individuals as the most heinous war criminals of the century, we should not forget the active participation of Dick Cheney, Condoleezza Rice, Richard Perle, Karl Rove, Donald Rumsfeld, John Bolton and a host of other neo-conservatives who knowingly contributed to the many horrendous crimes against innocent civilians.
The arrogance of these criminals is highlighted by the fact that no attempt was made to disguise the primary objective of the illegal invasion of Iraq -- I refer of course to the linear focus on securing the Oil Ministry in Baghdad! Not a shred of consideration was given to anything other than the primary objective at the time of the invasion. Consider the Oil Ministry as primary objective for a moment and all the lies leading up to the invasion become as transparent as the criminals who consciously participated in the most heinous holocaust in recent history, the deaths of 660,000 innocent civilians. However, these deaths constitute an acceptable cost for the oil companies in whose interests this war is waged!
Blair’s recent visit to Washington to meet with his partner in crime, Bush, and the forthcoming visit of Bush to Australia for the APEC summit, will see the final official meetings of the three principal protagonists involved in the greatest military debacle and humanitarian disaster in modern history. At present Bush, Blair and Howard are engaged in congratulating each other on a job ‘well done’, but underneath the strained smiles and awkward gestures the possibility of war crimes indictments is taking its toll. The once confident expressions of conquering ‘heroes’ are slowly morphing into the terror-stricken faces of trapped rats. The three mass murderers remain in holocaust denial but a distinct unease is now detectable in their once confident gestures. Political leaders are acutely aware that the powers have always considered politicians expendable, especially if considerable social pressure is applied. Nevertheless, the smugness of Bush, Blair and Howard surprises many given the exposed lies and negative press they constantly receive.
The media is engaged in portraying only certain aspects of the Iraq invasion/occupation while the attacks of opposing politicians are limited in scope by the same forces that installed the current ‘leaders’. As a result of incomplete and biased information the belief that Iraq is a failed war has become the popular view. I would urge everyone to rethink that erroneous ‘conclusion’ and ignore the distracting misinformation that constantly streams from mass media outlets. If an accurate assessment is to be made then the matter must be viewed from the perspective of the forces that planned the invasion.
The constant barrage of sensationalist ‘news’, the sheer scale of human suffering, combined with a multitude of contradictory opinions and commentaries, tends to confuse, distract and eventually numb local populations to the horror and Truth of the nefarious COMMERCIAL ENTERPRISE THAT IS THE WAR IN IRAQ! It is easy to forget the principal objectives of the Iraq invasion; oil appropriation, elimination of Saddam Hussein, colonial occupation (military bases) and the installation of a compliant puppet regime. In view of the fact that the principal objectives have been met the planners of the Iraq invasion consider the invasion a success, all other considerations (including the civilian death toll) are SECONDARY!
We sometimes make a very human mistake and expect our fellow human beings to possess and display similar human qualities to our own – big mistake! It should now be abundantly clear that the individuals who planned and prosecuted the most horrendous human tragedy of the new century have no redeeming human qualities whatsoever. While this could be expected of ruthless leaders and dictators, democratic nations now run the risk of forfeiting their humanity to the psychopathology of maladjusts.
The Iraq invasion has made a mockery of any notion of a just war; it has reduced our proud fighting men and women to the status of mercenaries fighting purely for corporate profit. Our once proud and honourable militaries are now expected to carry the burden of guilt for the loss of innocent lives while continuing to fight for the most dishonourable cause of all, corporate gain! But as stated previously, all other considerations are secondary, INCLUDING THE WELFARE OF CITIZENS AND OUR FIGHTING MEN AND WOMEN. The appalling treatment of wounded and debilitated personnel in US military hospitals amply demonstrates the fact. And yet in full view of the HORROR we the people remain passive and tolerant of the heinous injustices, the flagrant crimes, and the smug attitude of our criminal leaders.
Regardless of whether a disease is physical, psychological or social in nature, all healing begins with diagnosis and acknowledgment of the malady. Only after identification of the scourge can remedial action be taken to eliminate the disease.
Be in no doubt. The apparent failure of the Iraq war is a distraction as is the notion that removing a few politicians from office will somehow set everything right. Failure to recognise the culpability of the singularly (profit) driven Transnational Corporations and large Financial Organisations would constitute the gravest error of our time. The whole world is hypnotised/distracted by Bush, Blair and the many idiots who have preceded and will no doubt follow in their footsteps.
Today, the real enemy is no longer invisible or camouflaged by buffoons and vainglorious politicians. The enemies of the environment and the free people of the world are the directors of the major corporations – if a successful war is to be waged to save the planet and our children then it must be waged against these individuals and the institutions they represent.
We are One or we are nothing.
