"There are a thousand hacking at the branches of evil to one who is striking at the root," stated Henry David Thoreau. Today someone finally struck at the root. Inspired by Hugo Chavez, six Latin American Presidents rejected the economic slavery (plutocracy) of the IMF and World Bank and created their own Latin American Bank of the South.
The "founding act"
The signing ceremony in Buenos Aires was accompanied by cheers from jubilant supporters and others who chanted, “Motherland yes, colony no! Today’s signing is viewed by Latin American leaders as another attack in the “war” against American imperialism. "The bank is a political fact and is part of an economic war that is also social and ideological," said Chavez.
The Bank will be based in Caracas with regional branches in Buenos Aires and La Paz; it will begin trading in 2008 with initial funds of seven billion dollars.
The founding signatories expressed their optimism for the future of "Banco del Sur" and Latin America. Viva!
As each day passes America loses more influence in the world; it will no doubt end in an American instigated war to save America from itself – make sense? It does to neo-cons!
