Parochial thinking Global Realities

Most people would think it ‘only natural’ to be more concerned with issues that effect their personal social environment than with issues involved in a mutually effective global reality. However, parochial thinking in a global world is a recipe for disaster, as America and Israel have recently discovered.

America, obsessed with its personal needs to the exclusion of all else, including the most basic moral code, has proven the point. In its (failed) bid for world domination based on the linear ‘me, me, me, model,’ its actions have created the forces that threaten to destroy the entire nation more rapidly and effectively than any outside enemy could have imagined.

America’s rabid need for energy has resulted in an ill-conceived plan for domination of Middle East energy (oil) resources. The result is a debacle and human tragedy of monumental proportions. Of course I refer to the Iraq debacle.

Understand well that the Iraq ‘strategy’ was a failed plan well before it ever became a failed reality! American ‘think tanks’ are simply groups of people who convince themselves (over a period of time) of the wildest and most absurd schemes possible. They are simply mutual re-enforcement groups or mutual hypnosis sessions. Any radically divergent views are noted but totally ignored in favour of a pre-determined agenda, PNAC in this instance. These groups convince themselves of the most ludicrous schemes, as has been so dramatically demonstrated by the American leadership over the past eight years.

Parochialism and morbid self-obsession failed to adequately address or appreciate that dire actions attract dire consequences! No one lays down a ‘welcome mat’ for military invaders and plunderers; there are no “bouquets of flowers” or three week “mission accomplished” victories when nations (with populations in the tens of millions) are violently invaded! However, the obvious reality was ignored by planners who had, by the time of the invasion, CONVINCED THEMSELVES that an inadequate force and ill-conceived plan would succeed. The result of this demented thinking is a human tragedy/holocaust of historical proportions.

A colleague was once paid a huge amount to attend and participate in one such think tank; he quickly concluded that a pre-determined model/plan required consensus and that the ‘think tank’ was simply a means to that end. Furthermore, he also determined that most participants were pathological personalities! His assessments have been vividly validated since.

But to the immediate GLOBAL REALITY today; many readers would have noticed that China, which has greater needs for energy and resources than America, has managed to acquire resources and fulfil needs through normal trade and business practices – imagine that! The result of course is that China has become a favoured and popular business partner and is sought after by developing and developed nations alike! Compare with the bloodletting barbarism of the USA! China is thinking and behaving like a responsible global citizen while America has become the vandal of the world.

The mania exhibited by America in pursuing failed plans is quite extraordinary – even in psychotic terms. Consider the real cost of supporting and approving secessionist moves by Albanian Muslims in Kosovo. Russia, a traditional ally of Serbia, has seized the opportunity to gain a strong foothold in the Balkans – an outcome it could not have achieved without the US and NATO threatening THEIR former ally, Serbia! The Russians are presently colonising Serbia at speed and the price of course will be to maintain Serbia’s territorial integrity, which is also in Russia’s interests. Russia now has a strategic platform on NATO’s doorstep thanks to America demonising a former ally and favouring a Muslim terrorist organisation. Analysts are bemused by the actions of Western Europe in this clearly ideologically driven action. European nations usually display a greater degree of political acumen. Putin couldn’t have asked for a better outcome, again thanks to mindless, American, parochial thinking.

While Israel continues to keep America focused on its own regional problems – a case of the flea wagging the dog – Latin America, with Putin’s and China’s support is freeing itself from the yoke of American economic oppression.

The outspoken Hugo Chavez has recently referred to an economic, political and ideological “war” with America and its Financial Institutions. Rejecting the poisoned hand of 'assistance' from the IMF and World Bank, Chavez and other Latin American presidents created their own development Bank thereby ensuring a greater degree of autonomy, freedom and benefit for their respective nations. The ‘Bank of the South’ strategy is a devastating blow for Imperial America. U.S corporations stand to suffer monumental losses as a result of this manoeuvre; the effect on the U.S. economy will be severe. Another price paid for limited, parochial thinking!

In a relatively short period the consequences of neo-conservatism are threatening to completely ruin the nation – and I do not exaggerate. We are only now beginning to witness the poison harvest of micro-mindsets engaging a macro world.

As stated previously there are no vacuums in politics, where America has clearly failed other nations have stepped in to fill the void and offer assistance.

The decline of America promises to be the most rapid and dramatic in modern history yet America has no one to blame but itself!
