Reversed Asymmetry

The sheeple are incapable of lucid thought so it’s necessary to drive the point home with simple and repetitive slogans and news items – ‘just an ol’ fashioned love song’ from a burnt-out ad man, but bear with it for a while. Current reality indicates that successful asymmetric warfare is indeed being waged by the powers or those who have the greater portion of military hardware, strategic advantage and a free hand to do as they will. Compare this with dissenting or opposition movements that are hamstrung with permits, laws and civilised codes of conduct.
The powers have killed and maimed over one million people in Iraq (alone) with impunity while youthful demonstrators with painted pimply faces – bless their naïve hearts -- are trounced by overwhelming numbers of police.
I fail to see how criminal governments that kill, plunder and wreak havoc can be stopped by a bunch of ineffective, disregarded kids marching and waving banners in tightly controlled police cordons.
Two major elements are missing, appropriate targeting and the means to effectively counter the opposition. If someone is pointing a gun to your head and blows your brains all over the editing room floor, applying for permission to demonstrate or march in locations removed from the action seems a little futile – don’t you think?
It maybe time to re-evaluate strategies and fight fire with fire or at least consider the element of surprise. At present the superior force is applying overwhelming pressure and succeeding. The anecdote of a man who was searching for his lost key under a lamp post because it afforded more light is relevant and instructive – he had lost his key somewhere in a dark alley far removed from where he was searching!
The Iraq war is an oil grab so it would seem appropriate to target oil company directors and allied companies – but what would I know, I’m just an ol’ fashioned love song!
A little advice for those who imagine they are removed from the ‘firing line.’ Very soon when prices and shortages become extreme and climate chaos causes major calamities, people will look to those responsible – do you think your blood money will save you when it's not worth the paper it's printed on?
If all politics is local then all wars are local – no avoiding it.
Good luck, Uncle!
