Howard and the US
by cleaves Monday, Jul 18 2005, 1:42pm
international / social/political / opinion/analysis

John Howard, presently visiting the US, ‘leader’ without a national or personal identity and cringer extraordinaire (would someone remind him it’s not an embarrassment to be an Australian). Like his conservative predecessors, who looked to England for an ideology and identity, Howard looks to the US for guidance and direction. Australian history will not be kind to this pathetic, cringing little lackey.

During his visit to the US he praised Australian expatriate, Rupert Murdoch, well known even in the US for his rabid and distorted ultra-right-wing views and media bias – and of course Murdoch returned the praise, an exercise in verbal mutual masturbation. Would we be surprised to learn that Richard (ex-commissar to Australia) Armitage, also heaped praises on the coward prime minister, who single-handedly has placed Australia in the most dire circumstances – highest ever recorded national and domestic debt and now, terrorist target! Good work Johnny, true favourite of the Transnational Corps and American leadership.

Local media analysts would have noted the juxtaposition of images of Howard and Rumsfeld with starving children in Niger – some who work in the local mass media continue to present the ‘news’ in the most balanced way possible, notwithstanding the ever tightening constraints of ‘editorial policy’.

Howard is learning the value of human life from his masters and getting his priorities in line with US policy. Rumsfeld and other leading US Zionists know that black Africans are not of the ‘blood of Abraham’, better to serve the God of money and resources who has promised to deliver the world to his chosen people, “..gimme that old time religion, its good enough for me..”, got that Johnny?

Prior to the inevitable event of a terrorist strike on Australia, we are offered apologetic squeals from Howard while he simultaneously attempts to deflect responsibility for this future event away from himself. It’s a ‘shame’ New Zealand is in such close proximity and a constant reminder of how not to be a terrorist target or a lackey nation.

Most notable with the gathering of the ultra-right in Washington is the lack of a viable opposition both in the US and Australia. If we could at least offer some policy direction for any Australian opposition – a good start would be the declaration of neutrality and the curtailing of the rape of our resources – placing ownership of Australia’s resources back in Australian hands may also be advisable. There’s a winner, but we know that existing ‘opposition’ does not have the will or the ability to deal with foreign Transnationals who are raping our land or the forces that are effectively absorbing a sovereign nation into US statehood.

I would state clearly as an analyst that failure to oppose the Howard government in the real sense would eventuate in a radical opposition that may not necessarily be agreeable to usual form and conventions. No better fertile ground for radicals is being created in this once land of plenty, the nostalgic land of sun, surf and leisure.

‘Grow your own’ is the result of inequity, injustice and lack of hope; recently released statistics of twenty five percent youth unemployment in a once active industrial city (Wollongong) is viewed as a (human) resource by some. When and if it happens, call it a consequence of ultra-right-wing policies, the ideology of callousness and insensitivity to our fellow human beings.
