international / social/political / opinion/analysis

The UK has recently undergone a social regression to a period in its history (many centuries past) when summary executions by the King’s representatives were common fair. Performing summary executions in the street is not new in England; this practice, however, was determined by the ancient powers to be counter productive – more revolts resulted from this practice than subjection/subjugation. But today, Blair’s England panders more to the racist sentiments of its people than good political sense. So be it, history has already dictated the inevitable outcomes.

The State has now superseded Al-Qaeda; Bin Laden is now irrelevant as an instigator of violence; urban warfare is no longer a remote possibility but a present acute danger. The terrorists have won on every front, principally due to the ineptitudes of Blair, Bush and Co., not the expertise or genius of terrorist strategies.

Obvious to most analysts is the complete lack of a measured response by the superpowers, they seem to be ‘winging it’, that is, improvising as they go and attending more to a short term media image than good sense.

Terrorist groups and others are watching these destabilising events with great interest – they no longer rely on any central command, theirs is a 'prod and learn' strategy. If England fails to meet this crisis in a civilised and professional manner there will be hell to pay in the immediate future. Certain nations may reel from the effects of an evermore-effective campaign against which the 'powers' have no viable defence.

All people fight against invaders who would steal their wealth and murder their citizens. The latest figures of innocent civilian deaths in Iraq is approximately twenty thousand – less than five percent of these deaths were caused by Arab insurgents. In the face of the obvious, the USA is planning additional attacks on other peoples and nations that do not subscribe to the American ideology.

The twenty first century has witnessed America, once a beacon of freedom and democracy, become an aggressive, murderous, invasive power. It should not be forgotten that State leaders (and other responsible parties) can now be held accountable for their crimes at the International Criminal Court of Justice at the Hague. The people will have their day.
