Helen Coonan -- Communications Dominatrix image The Management of Information peptide, Sunday, Oct 22 2006, 11:10pm
The Australian Minister for Communications, Helen Coonan, buoyed by her recent success in eliminating media diversity in Oz is now targeting the most diverse (content) medium on the planet – the internet. Her latest comments (news radio) veil her real intentions (information control!) The only effective means of controlling the flow of information on the internet is filtering at backbone or provider level. Conservatives are entirely predictable and Coonan is no exception, her intentions to target the internet were anticipated, a quote from an article dated July 5, follows: (story and 2 images)

Kim Jong IL (right) -- 'little brother' image China Asserts Superiority Kwang zi, Saturday, Oct 21 2006, 12:43am
China asserts dominance in the region but if you blinked you missed it; the difference between loud and clear and subtle and clear is the difference between, “bombing into the stone-age” and gently applying Asian lateral diplomacy. DPRK (Kim Jong il) rebuffs six-party talks but promises China during independent talks, that nuclear testing will cease. Miss war whore/status quo/dead children, Condoleezza Rice, and the rest of the world are left in no doubt which nation exercises the greater degree of influence in the region; a clear message has been sent – the world has taken note. A principal failure if not the major failure of the U.S. administration is its failure to comprehend the nature of post-modern reality, especially post-modern warfare. The U.S. war ‘machine’ is an antiquated beast run by the mentally impaired. Dangerous and angry old men (past failures) do not good leaders/advisers make!

Dick Cheney -- "the dark side" image Criminal Paradise is Government barra, Tuesday, Oct 17 2006, 9:59am
The answer is blowing the Constitution and Bill of Rights out the window – the Triads, Mafia, Latino, Cuban groups and various South American drug cartels all have something to learn from Cheney and Bush; in fact, they look positively tame in comparison. When confronted with accusations (and proof) of murder, torture, theft/plunder, illegal surveillance, etc, on levels traditional organised crime could only dream of, what is the recourse of neo-cons? Legislate and change the Law (it’s an ass anyway). Simply legalise activities that were once considered crimes and criminalise those who oppose or disagree! There’s nothing that compares to stealing government – computerised voting, subterfuge, lies, fabricated terrorist threats and THE POWER TO LEGISLATE – it’s just too damn easy! (story and 2 images)

Relinquish nothing – effect everything. image Creation and Continuity finch, Sunday, Oct 8 2006, 12:09pm
From cave painting, totemism to pop, ART has always been the means by/through which a given ‘reality’ is created or re-arranged according to the will/desire/needs of the artist.

Who is it that declares ART today? Everyone is an artist and everything, including murder and war is Art! (story and 1 comment and 2 images)

text Poofs, Paedophiles and American Puritanism nano, Saturday, Oct 7 2006, 8:19pm
Think of the final refuge for religious extremists (fanatical Christian cults) from Europe; and later, the sexual undertone of the Salem witch trials and you stare homosexual congressman, Mark Foley, ‘straight’ in the American sexual obsession. It seems that puritanism is alive and well in the good ol’ U.S of A! Amazing as the over-reactive American response may seem to Europeans and those of other nations, the news of a homosexual’s exploits with a boy has pushed all other news aside – incredible! The Mayflower continues to sail the waters of conservative America.

Would someone care to guess the historical age of the well-known adage, “A HOUSE DIVIDED CANNOT STAND” notwithstanding this particular quote is sourced from theological material? Regardless of age or source the above maxim expresses a universal truth in relation to social affairs. Recent history reminds us of the fragmentation and demise of a once independent Balkan nation. Yugoslavia now hosts the largest military occupation base (Bondsteel) in Europe. The Balkan conflict is a perfect example of divisionism leading to ruin – as it always does! [In contrast, fragmented warlord-torn China overcame its long history of internal conflict to become one of the most powerful nations on the planet.] (story and 1 comment)

American media 'integrity' -- below image Democracy Burning Kingfisher, Friday, Sep 29 2006, 4:12pm
What consistencies, common elements and patterns are identifiable in the following events: the Gulf of Tonkin incident, the attack on the USS Liberty, and 9/11? Although time, geographic location and historical context separate these events they nevertheless share remarkably similar aims, objectives and characteristics. All these orchestrated events provided an excuse for the USA to engage in what would have otherwise been blatantly illegal warfare. The Tonkin incident ‘justified’ American miliary aggression against Vietnam; the USS Liberty incident would have provided an ideal excuse for U.S. involvement in the six-day war; the 9/11 attack has been utilised as the primary justification for America’s military expansionism and the implementation of draconian laws on the domestic front. Alice Springs Court Protest image 'Ploughshares' to Support Pine Gap Defendants Ciaron via MIM, Thursday, Sep 28 2006, 6:49am
A couple of months ago our Pit Stop Ploughshares community was acquitted of $US2.5million damage to a U.S. war plane at Shannon Airport, Ireland. I'm presently heading to Alice Springs to support the Pine Gap resisters.

In December '05, six anti-war activist friends made the 3,000 km long trek through the Austalian Outback to the secret Pine Gap NSA Base near Alice Springs in the Northern Terrirory. They transported themselves in a van converted to run on recyled fish and chip oil. They had written to a number outback fish and chip shops and asked them to save them their used oil, some did! text U.S. Intelligence Agencies Discover Open Secret budgie, Tuesday, Sep 26 2006, 2:57pm
I shouldn’t be so harsh on the Americans; it took me years to discover I had a nose on my face but I was at a disadvantage, there is only one of me. Imagine the cost (tax payer’s money) involved in maintaining not one bloated ‘intelligence’ agency, but sixteen! After a period of three years, sixteen U.S. intelligence agencies have finally determined the sky is blue, people have noses on their faces and that the illegal Iraq intervention increased the ‘terrorist’ threat – bravo! [Where do I sign, that’s the job for me, or are these agencies selective basket cases – incompetent relatives, banjo players and those owed favours only need apply?]

Pakistan is at the heart of the Faustian deal the Bush administration has made.

It helps to plug your book at the White House.

After Pervez Musharraf coyly sidestepped a question at a news conference with President Bush about his claim on “60 Minutes” that Richard Armitage threatened to bomb Pakistan back to the Stone Age if it did not cooperate in routing the Taliban in Afghanistan, noting that he had to save such juicy tidbits for his book’s publication next week, he shot up over 1,000 spots on Amazon.com. text Nothing Right peptide, Friday, Sep 22 2006, 5:40am
The one glaring undeniable fact regarding the Bush administration is it has failed in ALL its endeavours – in other words, the Bush regime has done nothing right. The latest incidence of neo-con incompetence involves John Bolton and Condoleezza Rice; their new tactical strategy for 'implementing peace' in the Middle East is inaction! The conflict in South Lebanon revealed the essential ideology/philosophy of the neo-cons – not only [to], ‘GIVE WAR A CHANCE; but also, WAR IS THE ANSWER’! [Thank you John Lennon.]

BANKSY in Palestine -- balloon girl image Divisionism is Death finch, Wednesday, Sep 20 2006, 6:52am
A well-known method of subjugation utilised by conquerors and rulers alike is, “divide and conquer”; this strategy applies equally in times of war and peace. It may surprise many but this method remains the principal means of social control in today’s western societies. The primary divisive structure today is the (separate, ‘closed-door’) nuclear family and the principal divided unit is the psychically isolated, competitive individual. [It should be noted that the ‘individual’, as distinct from the group, is a relatively recent social creation.] (story and 2 images)

Pope Benedict (Ratzinger) image Contagious or Related: Ratzinger Succumbs peptide, Friday, Sep 15 2006, 4:40pm
Not to be backgrounded in world affairs, the new Hitler youth Pope of Rome, Ratzinger (by any other name) spouted his ultra-right-wing divisionist diatribes to the world today – are there any Muslims out there? Ratzinger’s highly inflammatory references to a previous crusading Pope’s diatribes against Islam were intended to inform the world that he has not forgotten his Nazi past, Ratzinger has left little doubt as to what he really represents – there is no cause for concern, however, as he is in ‘good’ company; neo-cons, Zionists and other ultra-conservative groups welcomed confirmation from the Pope that he is one of them. Ratzinger’s credentials as a representative of his God and saviour, the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, were left wanting – papal integrity plummeted to new depths today. (story and 1 image)

Edgar Cayce (1910) image Disturbing Implications: Something in the Air Ibis, Tuesday, Sep 12 2006, 6:37am
‘Siberia and today’s arctic regions of Canada will be the future breadbaskets of the world.’ I read this forecast in the sixties and immediately scoffed at the prediction. The guy who made these predictions is either nuts, a charlatan, or both, I thought. The regions referred to are renowned for their permafrost, and aside from some mosses, lichens and ‘summer’ grasses, there is no way those areas could yield a viable supply of food for “the world” – that was then!
