Pfc Bradley Manning image Criminal Pentagon Withholding Crucial Information in Manning Case judd, Sunday, Jun 24 2012, 11:37pm
Defense lawyers for Bradley Manning are outraged that a clearly BIASED military court has ruled against full discovery; particularly, allowing defense lawyers access to an internal report covering 'damage assessment,' if any, resulting directly from leaked material. The world's leading civilian killing, therefore terrorist nation, seems concerned that leaked material had very little negative impact on national security, a situation that clearly favors Manning -- so, we can't have that material made available to Manning's lawyers! coalpowerstation.jpg image Kyoto, Copenhagen, Rio summits go up in Smoke pru, Saturday, Jun 23 2012, 1:31pm
Rio+20 goes the same way -- FAILURE -- as all previous summits on the environment. The overriding singular reason is plain to see; the combined force of financial and corporate self-interest sabotage any hope of environmental pollution reform. The singular cause of failure for all these summits has at least been made plain to the world. Disproportionately wealthy minority elites, at great cost to the environment and global population, relentlessly pursue their own interests, and why shouldn't they? (story and 1 comment and 1 image)

embassyofecuadorinlondon.jpg image Assange: "there must be some way outa here .. pyed, Thursday, Jun 21 2012, 2:52pm
said the joker to the publicity seeking hacker."

Surely it must now be obvious to even the most ardent supporters that their hero 'hacker' is a publicity seeking narcissist. Sure, Assange revealed what we already knew -- that the US is a criminal nation guilty of the most heinous war and other crimes against humanity. But how do WikiLeaks 'revelations' compare to existing accounts in the public domain of America's conscious child-killing embargo policies which killed over 500,000 INNOCENT Iraqi children? It seems to make all the difference if Secretary of State, Albright, openly admits that DELIBERATELY killing more children in Iraq than did the Hiroshima atomic blast, is/was "worth it" -- but does official admission, more recently: "we came, we saw, he died," make extrajudicial proxy murders/assassinations, legal? text Economics not Sustainability as the Dominant and Destructive Primary Discourse millie, Thursday, Jun 21 2012, 12:23am
When something is established over a relatively long period of social time -- decades in this case -- the 'given' often appears as 'natural,' as is now the case with economics firmly established as the primary social discourse. However, a step outside that dominant discourse reveals an entirely different critical picture than the many deceptive images presented. The world and societies everywhere are going to wrack and ruin largely as a result of the myopic adherence to the economic discourse to the exclusion of more critically important discourses/issues on sustainability and non-monetary matters. That's right darlings, the world/universe has never been reliant on money or driven by economics, it survives -- long term -- on harmony and co-operative relations, not divisive and destructive conflict/war profiteering for financial and corporate elites. So no prizes for guessing which forces have established the economic discourse as the primary political and social 'reality' today. (story and 1 comment)

Peter Costello, the original supercilious prick of Oz politics image Austerity for Oz! baz, Friday, Jun 15 2012, 12:41am
Almost on cue, the Banker and Transnational cartels have utilised their faithful SERVANT, former conservative Treasurer, Peter Costello, to submit a report and of course warn of dire consequences for Queensland, arising from the State's debt.

You could almost pick the day this would occur, after UNESCO's warning of threats to the Great Barrier Reef, ARISING DIRECTLY from rampant Corporate EXPLOITATION and the social unrest/protests over under-regulated CSG exploitation, or toxic 'FRACKING,' as it is internationally known. text The Revolutionary Organisation behind Jesus Christ finn, Monday, Jun 11 2012, 3:32am
Don’t kid yourself children, Jesus was sent on his mission by an organised group that existed long before he was born. He was not a God or even possessed of supernatural powers but a healer of minds and souls and a very brave, charismatic social revolutionary; he could no more fly than any man or elephant could fly! The implausible/impossible fantasy aspects of the story are cultivated by organised religion to weaken and intimidate believers into obeying a supernatural ‘all-powerful’ being that seems always to require the assistance of men to do the simplest things. You see, all Gods are the product of the pens of scribes and propagandists. But Jesus is the exception; he was a man, a most inspiring social reformer.

A 6yo Chinese girl who was callously dumped by her parents because of a rare genetic condition has been adopted by a distant grandfather the newswire reports today.

My heart and soul shriek and lament every time I see children abused or maltreated, its something in the DNA. However, in this rare instance this poor little girl was saved by a distant relative. (story and 1 image)

Leon Panetta, dunce image Panetta: US "reaching the limits of its patience" - O, really? gan, Thursday, Jun 7 2012, 10:34am
The latest demented American dunce to stick his moronic boot in his imbecilic mouth is Secretary of Defense, Leon Panetta. Former CIA boss Panetta represents a known lawless nation run by murdering and thieving criminals -- the USA is the world's leading civilian killing nation, approx 5 million murdered since Vietnam; it is also the world's leading invading and occupying nation that specializes in resource theft and assassinating leaders that oppose its imperial designs/policies of appropriating the resources of weaker nations. It has even taken to oppressing its own population with constant surveillance, new draconian indefinite detention 'laws' and military policing. (story and 1 comment and 1 image)

text Bradley Manning Trial -- clear case of Conflict of Interests judd, Wednesday, Jun 6 2012, 12:23pm
The first thing that strikes those following the Bradley Manning case is the clear case of conflict of interests. It is the military that stands accused of war crimes via evidence that Bradley Manning allegedly supplied to WikiLeaks. Obviously the accused military cannot sit in judgement of the alleged facilitator (Manning) to the accuser, WikiLeaks. In the interests of a fair trial Manning's case must be heard independently, outside the sphere of military influence. Numerous courts in the country are able to hear this case. Manning's lawyers have not taken a vigorous enough stand and DEMANDED that the case be heard by an independent, non-military court. (story and 1 comment)

Sometimes the secondary unstated discourse offers more detailed and revealing information than the articulated or overt primary discourse – this was certainly the case in Assange’s latest RT interviews with ‘Cypherpunk’ geeks and friends; but prior to deconstructing that gem of a semiotic treat, allow me to clarify a few points about TODAY’S digital underground. Kamikaze pilots receiving orders image The New Kamikaze Politics of Today quill, Monday, Jun 4 2012, 1:01am
For those not familiar, the term “Kamikaze” is originally Japanese and loosely renders into English as ‘the divine wind.’ It referred originally to Japanese suicide pilots of WWII. These very young pilots willingly died for their ‘Emperor;’ their training hours in the air were minimal, time mostly spent perfecting targeted dives. Their planes were flying bombs packed to the hilt with explosives, in effect they were the first human guided missiles sent to devastate the enemy; very few Kamikaze pilots survived their attacks. Vietnam and China share a border and an Ocean, over which conflict has erupted over the centuries. The last overt war the two nations fought was in the 70's; China called it, 'teaching Vietnam a lesson.' The conflict raged for a few weeks before China was satisfied that Vietnam had learned its lesson (and place). (story and 1 comment and 2 images)
