Large crack opens in the earth in southern Peru
staff report via baz, Sunday, Feb 27 2011, 11:54pm
A number of geophysicists and others have predicted that the earth will undergo drastic geological upheaval in this period. Recent quakes in New Zealand signal events on opposite side of Pacific, as is the usual case with these movements.
According to predictions, Etna and Pele are the main indicators. Soothsayers and scientists seem to agree that we are in for a 'big one' and it ain't gonna be pleasant. Drastic pole shift scenarios are also predicted, in which case entire continents could be flooded overnight. Apparently the earth undergoes these 'cleansing periods' when man's perversity gets out of hand. If that is the case it's gonna be a rough ride. [Inaction from the people brings its own reward!] (story and 2 comments and 2 images)

ANONYMOUS targets Tea Party funders, Charles and David Koch
Stephen C. Webster via anon, Sunday, Feb 27 2011, 10:00pm
The decentralized protest group "Anonymous" has a new target: no, it's not a middle eastern dictator, a major bank or even a bit player in the military-industrial complex. It's none other than Tea Party financiers Charles and David Koch, an open letter stated -- for their attempts "to usurp American Democracy," with money we presume! A little late for that, ANONYMOUS; Corporatists OWN Capitol Hill, lock, stock and barrel, just ask house slave, Baa' raack Obaa' maa! [Edited;] (story and 1 comment and 2 images)

UN Votes Unanimously to Apply Sanctions on Gaddafi
dasha, Saturday, Feb 26 2011, 10:53pm
The fact is these sanctions/actions occurred mainly because Gaddafi wouldn’t quietly surrender his oil fields to Western Corporate interests – gutless Russia and China watch from a distance. If anyone labours under the misapprehension that the U.S. is really concerned over the loss of innocent human life, just take a long hard look at the IRAQI CIVILIAN DEATH TOLL; the USA could CARE LESS for the lives of Muslim Arabs and North Africans. It demonstrates this almost daily with CONTINUING civilian killing DRONE ATTACKS on innocent Muslims in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Africa! Take a dose of hard reality before swallowing the propaganda and garbage you are fed by the Western Corporate media. (story and 1 comment)

The Pentagon Needs More Wars
Paul Craig Roberts via reed, Saturday, Feb 26 2011, 6:48am
CORPORATE puppet, President Obama, stated openly that the US is looking at all options including military intervention in Libya. So concerned is he over a few thousand casualties that he threatens military invasion -- GIVE THE WORLD A BREAK! There's the 'little' matter of over ONE MILLION DEAD CIVILIANS in Iraq -- the first holocaust of the 21st century -- which the USA is DIRECTLY responsible for; it is now public record that the invasion was orchestrated and based on LIES. High Ranking former CIA agent Labels US Gov as FASCIST
John Pilger via stan, Friday, Feb 25 2011, 8:09pm
Shortly after the invasion of Iraq in 2003, I interviewed Ray McGovern, one of an elite group of CIA officers who prepared the President’s daily intelligence brief. McGovern was at the apex of the "national security" monolith that is American power and had retired with presidential plaudits. On the eve of the invasion, he and 45 other senior officers of the CIA and other intelligence agencies wrote to President George W. Bush that the "drumbeat for war" was based not on intelligence, but LIES. (story and 1 comment)

Assange: the Cost of Breaking the Hacker code of Anonymity
Kismo, Thursday, Feb 24 2011, 7:25pm
Julian Assange has been “caged,” to use his own expression, since his initial arrest in London on an EU warrant alleging sexual misconduct in Sweden and remains caged today with bail conditions still applying while his inept team of glamour boy barristers and drunken solicitors determine how much more they can milk from his case. A gifted person with Assange’s social awareness should have known that (ALL) lawyers are the parasites of the modern age and should be avoided at all costs. Are you regretting now the personal and other REAL costs associated with your narcissistic (conditioned) need for notoriety, Julian? Silly boy! (story and 2 comments and 1 image)

America’s Inverted View of Terrorism
Asif Haroon Raja via quill, Tuesday, Feb 22 2011, 9:29pm
As Paul Craig Robert states, 'hypocrisy in America is now so commonplace it is no longer noticed.' In the USA if a person tortures a dog he is sent to jail, but a government functionary indulging in torture against fellow beings is ignored. (story and 1 comment)

The LAW is a WHORE
gus, Monday, Feb 21 2011, 9:02pm
What passes for Western Law and Justice these days would constitute crimes only a few decades past; the so-called ‘independent’ judiciary has been thoroughly corrupted and appropriated by Corporate interests in the US and other Western Nations – the Law no longer serves society and the people it SERVES elite, criminal interests. American Conman Preys on Gullible Aussies
jas, Saturday, Feb 19 2011, 7:41pm
Whenever any brazen conman rears their treacherous head in this country responsible citizens are obliged to expose them, as occurred with English lunatic, David Icke, who pocketed thousands in Melbourne espousing (his) belief that shape-shifting lizards rule the world – I mean give reason a break! Every Satellite in Space, Civilian or Military is vulnerable to Hackers
nano, Friday, Feb 18 2011, 11:32pm
A fact most governments would never publicise. This reality exists due to the need of ground bases to communicate, navigate and conduct a host of ‘housekeeping’ and security activities – notwithstanding accidental breaches due to solar and gamma radiation. And therein lays the vulnerability, comms links from ground to space. (story and 1 image)

US politicians introduce law to prosecute Wikileaks
Grant Gross via fleet, Wednesday, Feb 16 2011, 7:32am
New legislation in the US Congress targets WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange for espionage prosecution.
Representative Peter King, a New York Republican, introduced the Securing Human Intelligence and Enforcing Lawful Dissemination, or SHIELD, Act on Tuesday. The bill would clarify US law by saying that it is an act of espionage to publish the protected names of American intelligence sources who collaborate with the military or intelligence agencies.
