Goldman Sachs: it's not Greek to me!
Robert Scheer via quin, Thursday, Feb 18 2010, 5:35am
“What is this Goldman Sachs and why has it caused us so much grief?” is a question they must be asking in even the most remote of Greek villages, as they are throughout much of this economically troubled world. The Greek financial scandal in which Goldman Sachs stands accused of selling dubious derivatives that concealed enormous government debt has sent the Greek economy and European markets into a tailspin. But that’s just part of a made-in-the-USA banking hustle that has haunted folks at home and abroad.

Which Bank? The People's Bank!
Dale Wetzel via gan, Wednesday, Feb 17 2010, 7:21am
We shouldn't forget that Oz once had a people's bank, The Common-wealth Bank of Australia. Former PM, Paul 'deregulation' Keating, killed it off and sold it to the private sector (Wall St) then instituted the most ODIOUS banking practice ever seen in Oz -- Bank FEES for doing their bloody job! Oz banks now have a license to steal so why bother working for a living! If ever an Aussie needed hanging its Keating -- he's worse than the three little shits Hawke, Howard and Rudd rolled into one [turd]!

What's the civilian death toll, Mr Obama?
sten, Tuesday, Feb 16 2010, 8:10pm
For all its bluster, bells, whistles, DECEPTION and marketing bullshit, America REMAINS the WORLD'S leading CHILD/CIVILIAN killing nation. The sheer number of innocents the U.S. has directly and indirectly slaughtered rivals and exceeds that of the most heinous criminal nations in recorded history/infamy! (story and 1 image)

Allied offensive kills 12 civilians in Afghanistan
teale, Monday, Feb 15 2010, 4:57pm
"It's regrettable that in the course of our joint efforts, innocent lives were lost. We extend our heartfelt sympathies and will ensure we do all we can to avoid future incidents," NATO commander General Stanley McChrystal said in a statement yesterday. In the wake of over one million civilian deaths in Iraq, three million in Indo-China countless thousands in Afghanistan and Latin America, millions more by proxy in Indonesia and Malaya – American apologies and words of ‘regret’ not only ring hollow and insulting they CONFRONT and MOBILISE RESISTANCE! Allied forces have LOST before they have begun! [To FREEDOM FIGHTERS everywhere, Victory is assured – WE are ONE!] (story and 2 comments and 1 image)

Censorship Minister Conroy 'busted' for corrupt dealings
gan, Sunday, Feb 14 2010, 6:17am
Didn't we know it from the start! Censorship serves the interests of media corporations that wish to stifle competition from the Internet. With Kevin 'yes Rupert' Rudd as PM and Stephen 'snowing money' Conroy as minister for communications, media moguls have never had it so good! Money is no object, as the mass media is a money machine provided that competition from Internet Independents is managed by very convenient censorship legislation. $250 million reeks of CORRUPTION -- a FULL INQUIRY is certainly warranted for this overtly corrupt deal -- give us all a break, you servile, incompetent Labor politicians -- pathetic! New Balkans Wars on the Horizon
Dr. Pyotr Iskenderov via reed, Friday, Feb 12 2010, 4:05am
The situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina will get strained as soon as Bosnian Serbs hold a referendum on their constitutional status. Its aim is to prevent leaders in Sarajevo, the US and EU from eliminating Republika Srpska. The outgoing Croatian President, Stjepan Mesic, promised that if the referendum takes place, the regular army of Croatia will enter the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina to cut off the 15-km Posavina corridor, which connects the western and the eastern parts of Republika Srpska in the area of Brcko, close to the Croatian border! Talking Junk Economics and Eating Caviar
stan, Thursday, Feb 11 2010, 9:35pm
Politicians, Economists, Bankers and Corporatists continue to spout pure, unadulterated shit (lies of recovery) while in the REAL WORLD the global economy slips further into decline. However, the public seems to be buying the nonsensical drivel issuing from the mouths of paid commentators, partisan economists, and puppet politicians – but not for long! To Anonymous and ALL the crewz
Kismo, Wednesday, Feb 10 2010, 5:53pm
[Greetz to ALL the keyboard warriors and kiddies alike – We are ONE (we shouldn’t forget most of us started as kiddies!)]
The hacker group Anonymous, after a previous failed, but big hearted, attempt finally downed Oz government web sites with Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks – got there in the end dudes! But don’t forget to give credit where it’s due, to an early pioneer hacker and warrior, the man who developed the principles/STRATEGY, code and early tools to implement Denial of Service attacks, it was his brain and skill that downed Yahoo in the early days – no one thought it could be done, another barrier overcome – there are no limits to the skill and creative minds of elite hackers! So I take this opportunity to give credit where it’s due, to the man himself, ‘mixter’ – well done, you old cunt; we couldn’t have done it without you! (story and 1 comment)

Servile Rudd acquiesces to Washington’s demands!
ryall, Tuesday, Feb 9 2010, 7:41am
Despite clear warnings from scientists that exposure to direct radiation from body scanners is unsafe, our pathetic Washington lackey PM, Kevin ‘custard face’ Rudd, did not hesitate when America ordered the installation of full body scanners at Oz airports! Are we no longer capable of assessing the suitability of these costly, cumbersome and potentially lethal radiation machines? Must our custard-faced, gutless leaders, ‘yez boss’ every dictate from Washington without question; where is the evaluation and risk assessment to health, notwithstanding privacy issues? Let’s hear it from OUR EXPERTS not from a lackey (jellyfish) leader who snaps to attention whenever Washington demands! (story and 1 comment and 1 image)

Rudd displays his servitude to Murdoch and Hollywood Studios
kurt, Monday, Feb 8 2010, 5:36pm
Piss-weak Oz PM, Kevin ‘yes Rupert’ Rudd, dodged a direct answer to a question from Oz youth relating to a recent landmark court case which mega Hollywood studios and media moguls LOST – how sweet it is! As usual, our spineless, subservient PM – makes ya proud to be an Aussie lackey – skirted around what every commentator knows; Rudd does what he’s told by the BIG BUSINESS interests that placed him in Office. It’s enough to make you clean and oil your ‘weapon!’ (story and 1 comment)

The Terror-Industrial Complex -- Criminal Nation, Terrorist State
Chris Hedges via fleet, Monday, Feb 8 2010, 4:52pm
The conviction of the Pakistani neuroscientist Aafia Siddiqui in New York last week of trying to kill American military officers and FBI agents illustrates that the greatest danger to our security does not come from al-Qaida but the thousands of shadowy mercenaries, kidnappers, killers and torturers our government employs around the globe. Preludes to Dynamic Social Change
lynx, Sunday, Feb 7 2010, 7:55pm
Yawning chasms of DISPARITY and INEQUITY have preceded every social r/evolution in history; are we blind to the signs in the sky today? NO! However, the (let them eat cake) arrogant attitude of self-styled elites blinds them to the consequences of their criminal, corrupt actions. Take for example, Financiers, Bankers and Corporate CEOs; they insider trade, exploit, LIE and CHEAT, O-P-E-N-L-Y displaying the UTMOST CONTEMPT for the masses, LAW and GOVERNMENT, then rub the noses of the public and our once functional regulatory social institutions in their excrement! What would you suppose are the consequences of these appalling actions; history bulges with information?

Last Rites for the USA
Cindy Sheehan via reed, Sunday, Feb 7 2010, 8:13am
Many people mistakenly believe that corporations were given the same rights (not just privileges) as persons in this Supreme Court decision, but nothing could be farther from the truth - the reason my nation is such a dysfunctional system now is not because of a Supreme Court decision, nor a law passed by Congress, nor by a referendum of the people: it's because of a single statement, one sentence, spoken by a Supreme Court Chief Justice before the hearing even began.

The American Presidency, what presidency?
Sheila Stuff via fray, Sunday, Feb 7 2010, 6:03am
It boggles the mind reading this very accurate account of the completely ineffective role of the U.S. President today.
From George H Bush, Clinton to Obama the exact same status quo is in operation and the same private ruling interests are in control of the nation! However, the American people continue to argue the toss regarding Obama's total lack of credibility and influence in the REAL affairs of the nation. Instead of confronting the reality of a paper mache 'Hope and Change' President, we get distracting Obama blah blah! American democracy is dead, the Republic has been lost to private, vested interests for decades!

The Discourse of Disconnect
quin, Friday, Feb 5 2010, 8:04pm
ARTIFICIAL debt, WAR, terror, fear and a discourse that has all the ‘appeal’ of a bit of shit on the end of a stick; with this arsenal ‘they’ hope to capture and manage an increasingly aware population; however, it is clear they have FAILED! The (predicted) global economic collapse of 2010 VERIFIES the FACT. Regardless of the name they attribute to the failure, ‘sub-prime,' 'sovereign debt' or whatever, the cause is the lack of sound, basic economic principles/policies. Production, savings/asset growth ensures stability and prosperity FOR ALL; debt-fuelled, rampant consumerism ensures collapse, simple! 'Their solution’ in times of built-in system-failure (huge DISPARITY) is war, terror, fear and lawless assassination squads targeting ‘their’ perceived enemies – it has come to this, an open SOCIO-PATHOLOGY! Certainly no model for enduring success, plain to see! (story and 1 comment and 1 image)
