Sirius Star image Black Africans give world a lesson in Asymmetric Warfare Captain, Tuesday, Nov 18 2008, 1:11am
Superpowers are in shock over the news that Somali pirates have seized a super tanker three times the size of an aircraft carrier off the coast of Kenya! Perhaps we should recall the destructive actions of the USA around the globe but particularly in Somalia. The national economy is completely ruined; faced with starvation or slavery, Somalis have developed a lucrative sub-economy from the proceeds of piracy. (story and 2 images)

text Will an Obama Administration seek to restore justice? John S. Hatch via krill, Monday, Nov 17 2008, 8:45am
Amidst the somewhat hysterical euphoria of the Obama win is the fact that he has some very sober decisions to make, and his choice of Chief of Staff (Rahm Emanuel has already had to apologise for remarks by his once-terrorist father) does not auger well. Why choose someone who has served in Israel’s brutal IDF and who is rabidly anti-Palestinian? Is this ‘Change’? Also disturbing is talk of retaining Secretary of Defense Robert Gates with all his Iran-Contra baggage. Or Madeleine Albright who insanely stated that the undisputed deaths of 500,000 Iraqi children (under the age of five) during the (ineffectual to Saddam) sanctions following Gulf War I were ‘worth it’. Or possibly appointing Paul Volker to head Treasury. Change? This sounds like Business As Usual.

text The Sickest News of the Day: Obama’s White House puppy gan, Sunday, Nov 16 2008, 11:19pm
The Associated Press is running yet another story on the now notorious “Pet Sematary” White House puppy! Given the many crises and current instabilities around the globe, dwelling on trivia is bordering on criminal neglect. A previous article mentioned the obscenity of the American media and its obsession with trivial matters while people are being slaughtered DAILY by American forces and mindless remote-controlled UAV (drone) attacks!

The Murdoch-Rudd government of Australia is about to implement draconian censorship and information filtering measures on the internet, beginning ‘Christmas Eve’ – well timed, draco! Murdoch is more pissed off than most over the influence his media empire has had to concede to internet independents – bloody rabble! (story and 1 image)

Shawn Nguyen bragged that he could sneak anything past airport security using his top-secret clearance as a federal air marshal. And for months, he smuggled cocaine and drug money onto flights across the country, boasting to an FBI informant that he was "the man with the golden badge."

text G20: Bush pleads for return to ‘free’ market but collapse Inevitable quin, Friday, Nov 14 2008, 9:13pm
Capitalism, regardless of its many and varied disguises, is historically VERIFIABLE as WEALTH FOR THE FEW – that is its one most consistent, overriding characteristic! We therefore have no need to entertain lies that it is anything other than an unfair economic system that promotes inequity and insider elitism, which inevitably leads to the type of collapse we are experiencing at the present time! Whatever happened to moral leadership in America – if it ever existed? Not a peep from Obama, the black marionette president elect, regarding actions against Cheney, who is without peer as the most culpable criminal of the 21st century – not forgetting the crimes of Bush and other senior members of the regime! Are we able to see the nose on our collective, rustic face? A face that betrays its primitive and limited rustic heritage; a face resplendent with intellectual vacuity! Republican running mate, Sarah Palin, was unaware that Africa is a continent – it would be pointless asking the average American to name the largest nation that occupies the most well known sub-continent in the world today (India) -- you see, Palin is the norm, not the exception! Thousands of Georgian citizens poured onto the streets of the Georgian Capital, Tbilisi, on Friday protesting the failed policies of puppet president and buffoon, Mikheil Saakashvili. Economic hardship and the INSANE military provocation of Russia ensures that Saakashvili’s days are numbered – his life may also be in jeopardy. (story and 2 comments)

shylock_obama.jpg image Obama: the Big Sell and the Giant Denial peptide, Thursday, Nov 6 2008, 9:50pm
At a critical and REVEALING point in Obama’s campaign he veered violently to the right, selling out his grassroots base and methodologies in the process. Obama not only accepted HUGE financial support from BIG business and status quo powers he embraced aspects of their ideology. As a result he was rightly accused by disillusioned supporters, commentators and analysts of disingenuous and traitorous behaviour -- his INTEGRITY took a severe battering from which it has not recovered. Obama has made no effort to date to redeem his former reputation by proving his accusers wrong – but why should he now, he has ‘won’ the race to the White House? Political expediency, not justice or integrity, wins the day in America! (story and 3 comments and 3 images)

'Rupert' Goebbels image Censorship in the Western Media: What they Don't Want You to Know Eric Sommer via quill, Wednesday, Nov 5 2008, 8:47am
The Western media has recently outdone itself in censoring important stories - stories which contradict the policies and interests the media seeks to uphold.. Western publics have been systematically misled in recent weeks on vital issues related to war-and-peace, human rights, the financial crisis, and more. Only a few examples can be set out here. But it should be enough to indicate the extent to which world reality is being filtered by the media. (story and 1 comment and 2 images)

Uncle Tom Obama image The test of INTEGRITY -- Obama as President finch, Tuesday, Nov 4 2008, 11:11pm
I wish I could remember the exact phrase the ‘excited’ radio announcer, Steve Chase, used to introduce his audience to the Obama victory speech in Chicago.

To the (background) sound of the roaring crowd, applauding, cheering, whistling and screaming -- as mindless as any crowd the Roman Colosseum would have contained – the announcer exclaimed, “can you hear that; the sound of rapturous supporters; let’s all absorb the atmosphere?” With that Obama began one of the most mediocre victory speeches I have ever heard -- and I’ve heard a few! text Between Hope and Reality: An Open Letter to Barack Obama Ralph Nader via reed, Tuesday, Nov 4 2008, 7:44am
Dear Senator Obama:

In your nearly two-year presidential campaign, the words "hope and change," "change and hope" have been your trademark declarations. Yet there is an asymmetry between those objectives and your political character that succumbs to contrary centers of power that want not "hope and change" but the continuation of the power-entrenched status quo. The ‘winner’ of the US elections will BECOME the 44th president of the USA. This number has great significance throughout all Asia -- home to enduring civilizations that possess ancient wisdom and knowledge. text More from the Front Lines of the Financial Crisis Stephen Lendman via reed, Monday, Nov 3 2008, 8:52am
In its latest economic outlook, Merrill Lynch economists "worry about inflation, or more precisely," a lack of it. From crashing global equity markets, falling commodity prices, rising unemployment, stagnant wages, over-indebted households, declining production, the continuing housing crisis, and more. All pointing to several future quarters of negative growth. Showing that Fed chairman Bernanke will face "his greatest fear: deflation." An analysis of the coincident to lagging indicators signals "deep recession." (story and 1 comment)

Alexander Downer image Former Oz FM, Alexander Downer at loose ends Kingfisher, Sunday, Nov 2 2008, 2:07am
There is a syndrome to which former public figures are extremely susceptible; it’s a type of hangover effect. After years in public office, directing the affairs of State, to suddenly find themselves on the scrap heap is a little disconcerting and a bit of a shock, especially for elitists that have always held the view they were born to rule! text Aussie investors win ‘servile stakes’ budgie, Friday, Oct 31 2008, 11:40pm
Desperate citizens who had their investments/funds frozen have been ‘allowed,’ by the ‘big-hearted’ regulator, to access small amounts of their funds to meet the costs of daily life – how bloody generous! The magnanimity of the regulator, ASIC, and the parasitic financial institutions is ‘beyond measure.’ All I can say in the circumstances is, ‘you’re’ damn lucky you haven’t any of my funds frozen, you loathsome parasites!

text Balkan Wars and Western Propaganda Edward S. Herman via rialator, Friday, Oct 31 2008, 8:40am
Marlise Simons, the New York Times' main reporter on the Milosevic trial and International Criminal Trial for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY), has had a difficult year. Perhaps most painful was the disclosure that in 1999 the Kosovo Albanian KLA sent as many as 300 captive Serbs to Albania to be killed and their internal organs "harvested" for sale abroad; a matter barely mentioned in the New York Times (see below). I was sorely tempted to write to Marlise Simons and offer her my sympathies, "Marlise, if only the villains in this case were Serbs, what a fine front page article you could have had!"
