Fraudulent Leaders
peptide, Thursday, Jun 26 2008, 9:14am
America beware! The Australian public screamed for change but got a Murdoch approved status quo dummy for a leader. Kevin Rudd's first seven months in office have been defined by his inability to do anything whatsoever; his greatest achievement to date is NON-ACHIEVEMENT! He has become a master of preserving the status quo set in motion by the powers that placed the previous conservative leader in office and so it will go with the USA unless the people detect the ruse before it’s too late! Serbia: an unlikely alliance
rade, Wednesday, Jun 25 2008, 11:13am
As predicted, Milosevic’s Socialists (partisans) have rejected their traditional (cetnik) nationalist enemy and will form a government with Tadic’s west-leaning liberal democrats. The extreme left and extreme right are forming a very shaky alliance, one destined to be dysfunctional from the outset but such is the nature of Balkan politics – shaky alliances are the norm not the exception in Balkan politics.

State-Sponsored Terror: British and American Black Ops in Iraq
Andrew G. Marshall via fleet, Wednesday, Jun 25 2008, 9:15am
In January of 2002, the Washington Post ran a story detailing a CIA plan put forward to President Bush shortly after 9/11 by CIA Director George Tenet titled, "Worldwide Attack Matrix," which was "outlining a clandestine anti-terror campaign in 80 countries around the world. What he was ready to propose represented a striking and risky departure for U.S. policy and would give the CIA the broadest and most lethal authority in its history." The plan entailed CIA and Special Forces "covert operations across the globe," and at "the heart of the proposal was a recommendation that the president give the CIA what Tenet labeled "exceptional authorities" to attack and destroy al Qaeda in Afghanistan and the rest of the world." Tenet cited the need for such authority "to allow the agency to operate without restraint -- and he wanted encouragement from the president to take risks." Among the many authorities recommended was the use of "deadly force."

Real Australian spirit required to remedy national crises
major mitchell, Tuesday, Jun 24 2008, 10:59pm
Enough time has passed for every Aussie to conclude that the Rudd government, faced with critical issues, is GUTLESS and USELESS! Rudd and his mob of no-hopers appear even more servile and slavish to U.S. dictates and corporate interests than the previous Howard government -- as inconceivable as that REALITY may be for most Aussies. However, after seven months of Rudd’s vacuous parading and poncing around, blind Freddy sees!

The ACT of DEFIANCE that ended a military Empire
nano, Monday, Jun 23 2008, 11:37am
It is generally believed the collapse of the USSR was due to the unsuccessful campaign in Afghanistan – not so, though it was an effective final act. Afghanistan was actually the last straw that broke the Soviet back but the major destabilising force originated in Prague in the form of the ’68 Velvet Revolution! (story and 1 image)

U.S. 'bipartisanship' defined
Glenn Greenwald via krill, Saturday, Jun 21 2008, 8:34pm
It's bad enough watching the likes of Steny Hoyer, Rahm Emanuel and a disturbingly disoriented Nancy Pelosi eviscerate the Fourth Amendment, exempt their largest corporate contributors from the rule of law, and endorse the most radical aspects of the Bush lawbreaking regime. But it's downright pathetic to see them try to depict their behavior as some sort of bipartisan "compromise" whereby they won meaningful concessions: (story and 1 image)

Mugabe invokes ‘God’ -- it worked for Bush!
peptide, Friday, Jun 20 2008, 9:26pm
Mugabe and Bush may have more in common than first pathologically thought! Both pursue their sick visions/delusions without regard to Law, the Constitution or the will of the people. Both exhibit contempt for the sanctity of human life and refuse to acknowledge the huge number of innocent lives they have destroyed. Both leaders justify their actions with theistic babble, a clear indication of psychopathology/megalomania! Both refuse to acknowledge they are directly responsible for war crimes and other crimes against humanity. Indeed, both men share more characteristics in common than differences. They are the most reprehensible criminal leaders the world has seen in decades AND they BOTH MUST BE BROUGHT TO JUSTICE! (story and 2 images)

The Singular, unilateral USA approves War Bill
costic, Friday, Jun 20 2008, 3:01am
No viable political alternative exists in the USA and only a fool would think otherwise. Noises of opposition from the Democrats are for appearances only; the charade of a democracy must be maintained. Congress passed Bush’s War Bill 268 to 155 votes, which effectively puts an end to all illusions the Democrats actually represent a viable alternative! (story and 1 comment)

Illegitimate declarations of War and Criminal Government
yarra, Wednesday, Jun 18 2008, 11:42pm
The executive powers that Bush and Cheney utilised to gain unprecedented power and unaccountability are based on powers granted to the President during times of war, we all noted how quick – some would say too quick -- Bush was to declare war after 9/11. [US military supplied anthrax attacks were overkill, that and a number of other factors will be your undoing gentlemen!] (story and 1 comment)

Afghanistan: US/NATO desperate for ‘good news’
budgie, Wednesday, Jun 18 2008, 7:27am
When you are taking a pounding and your whole strategy goes up in smoke it becomes imperative to feed the home front some ‘good news’ (lies) – we wouldn’t want to appear as incompetent losers, would we?
For US/NATO occupation forces it’s ALL bad news at the moment and has been so for quite some time! So, in the absence of REAL good news just manufacture some! However, for lies to appear credible they must at least conform to known truths and realities. (story and 1 comment and 2 images)

The Bitter harvest of Bush's economic 'management'
Mike Whitney via reed, Tuesday, Jun 17 2008, 10:11pm
[We have it on good authority that those responsible for the current economic collapse -- insider elites -- are making contingency plans to evade responsibility and future arrest. It is imperative that these corporate criminals are monitored, as they are likely to flee to nations that do not have extradition treaties with the home nation. Maintain tracking of all felons (and war criminals); the peoples' demand for justice must be satisfied! Ed]
The economy is in tatters. Consumer confidence has plummeted, food and energy prices are soaring, and the housing market is experiencing its biggest crash since the Great Depression. Manufacturing is down, unemployment is up, gasoline is topping $4 per gallon, and tent cities are sprouting up throughout the Southwest. If there's a silver lining to this mess; it's not visible from planet earth. (story and 1 image)
